Abstract: With rapid computerisation of all walks of life, cyber security has become a major challenge to the mankind. Cyber security is all about security of anything in cyber realm, while information security is all about security of information regardless of the realm. Cybercrimes are perpetrated by using computers and related devices / networks by individuals with sophisticated knowledge in the field of computers. Cybercrime is an evil having its origin in the growing dependence on computers in modern life. In a day and age when everything from microwave ovens and refrigerators to nuclear power plants is being run on computers, cybercrime has assumed rather sinister implications. Cybercrime perpetrators are keeping pace with innovations in technology and are way ahead of security measures taken to curb them. With huge money involved in cybercrimes, it has become a major concern. This research paper briefly defines cyber security and deals in detail with cybercrime and five major cyber security threats currently plaguing the world.

This article includes a perspective on cyber security through the lens of the World Economic Forum Resilience Framework. As cyber threats are a continual threat to organizations, it may be useful to consider resilience as a complementary approach to technological responses. The problem is that organizations cannot generate a sufficient number and types of responses to cyber security threats as the number of threats and associated costs continues to increase. The purpose of this article is to explore some possible practices and approaches to counter the ongoing and escalating cyber security threats, with the understanding and wisdom that not all threats will be possible to stop. Resilience is a complementary factor to directly countering threats by taking actions to backup information, having access to additional equipment as needed, by budgeting for failure, preparing for unexpected circumstances among other activities. Concepts from evolution and game theory are introduced within the resilience discussion.

The epoch of the big data presents many opportunities for the development in the range of data science, biomedical research cyber security, and cloud computing. Nowadays the big data gained popularity.  It also invites many provocations and upshot in the security and privacy of the big data. There are various type of threats, attacks such as leakage of data, the third party tries to access, viruses and vulnerability that stand against the security of the big data. This paper will discuss about the security threats and their approximate method in the field of biomedical research, cyber security and cloud computing.

Cloud computing cyber security is a subject that has been in top flight for a long period and even in near future. However, cloud computing permit to stock up a huge number of data in the cloud stockage, and allow the user to pay per utilization from anywhere via any terminal equipment. Among the major issues related to Cloud Computing security, we can mention data security, denial of service attacks, confidentiality, availability, and data integrity. This paper is dedicated to a taxonomic classification study of cloud computing cyber-security. With the main objective to identify the main challenges and issues in this field, the different approaches and solutions proposed to address them and the open problems that need to be addressed.

Our economy, infrastructure and societies rely to a large extent on information technology and computer networks solutions. Increasing dependency on information technologies has also multiplied the potential hazards of cyber-attacks. The prime goal of this study is to critically examine how the sufficient knowledge of cyber security threats plays a vital role in detection of any intrusion in simple networks and preventing the attacks. The study has evaluated various literatures and peer reviewed articles to examine the findings obtained by consolidating the outcomes of different studies and present the final findings into a simplified solution.

Nepal has been a home to diversified settlement in terms of ethnicity, religion, dialect and culture since its outset in civilization. It also lies between two great military and economic giants of Asia – India and China – that are hostile to each other. While these bring abundant opportunities for Nepal, it possesses several internal and external security threats. Nepal suffers from cyber-attack, environmental degradation, pandemic, ethnic, racial or religious conflicts, inequality and poverty, extremism, human trafficking, corruption, migration and trans-boundary crime. In addition, Nepal also faces several security threats, traditional and non–traditional, including terrorism and insurgency. These threats possess serious implications on peace and security of Nepal and the South Asian region. There is a need of serious study about the major internal and external security challenges that Nepal faces in recent decades. This study aims at examining some of the major security challenges, explore the factors behind it, and attempt to suggest few policy recommendations to the government of Nepal to deal with them. The study is conducted by reviewing the primary and secondary sources of data. The primary data includes documents of the government agencies, press release, joint statement and organizational reports. It also includes the interviews with security experts, bureaucrats, policy makers and academicians. Similarly, secondary data includes books, news reports, academic journals, seminars report and reports of research institutes and think tanks. The study highlights that Nepal should prepare itself to meet with the emerging internal and external security challenges what have emerged in recent times. With the rise of India and China, two adversarial powers in the region, Nepal possess extreme challenges in days to come. Similarly, hardly any countries of the world had prepared itself to deal with recent pandemic like COVID-19 that has shattered even the most powerful countries of the world. Taking lessons from these, it is time for Nepal to learn and prepare to mitigate the challenges.
