Students are someone who is undergoing the learning process in a college study program. One of the study programs at Sebelas Maret University is a medical study program. A student in a medical study program has an important responsibility in pursuing his chosen field. In general, in a medical study program, a student takes a block system in which there are general courses, lab skills, and practicums. The three things in the block system run together and in a fairly dense time frame. After the block system is complete, a test that is a block test appears to test the ability of students in all aspects and material in the block. This is enough to put pressure on students, because in addition to taking a solid block system, students must also be able to complete the block exam well so that they do not need to take a short semester. This is what sometimes causes stress on UNS medical students in class 2018. Sometimes, students do not understand the causes of stress and are less aware of things around them can cause stress.

Veterinary medical students, similar to elite collegiate athletes, are developing strategies for learning new skills and for self-care to take their performance to the next level. As veterinary students learn to successfully navigate an information-dense, high-volume curriculum, many sacrifice wellness, leadership opportunities, extracurricular activities, and social interactions. Strategies from athletes’ physical training were used to design a self-study program for first-year veterinary medical students. Major considerations in program design were the characteristics of the human being, learning goals, and contextual constraints. The study program included a warm-up, study sessions, and a cooldown. The program was offered to first-year veterinary medical students at Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Thirty-two students requested study programs and 21 completed surveys at the semester end. Results were analyzed quantitatively and by using an adapted conventional content analysis approach. Responses were organized into three main domains: reason for participation, program utility, and program satisfaction. Students shared that the most helpful aspects of the program were assisting with organization and time management, providing accountability, and reducing overwhelm by enhancing well-being and performance; they reported that these learned skills would support their well-being as future professionals. This article describes the experiences of one group of veterinary students at one college using these programs. The long-term goal is to develop a model program for all veterinary students to manage curricular demands while maintaining well-being.

The Medical Study Program causes many new situational demands and has the potential to create stress on students. The high number of lecture material difficulties, the number of assignments, the demands to understand the lecture material in a relatively short time and other problems that arise in the personal lives of students can trigger stress on medical students. Medical students who have a relatively high level of adversity quotient have a better tendency to deal with and deal with stressors in order to minimize the occurrence of psychological distress. This study aims to determine the relationship between adversity quotient with psychological distress in medical students at Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. Respondents in this study amounted to 90 students consisting of classes 2017, 2018, and 2019 with an age range of 18-21 years and are still actively attending lecture activities. The sampling technique used in this study was proportionate stratified random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a psychological distress scale (α = 0.934) and an adversity quotient scale (α = 0.951). The correlation test in this study used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test.Based on the Pearson Product Moment correlation test results obtained rxy = -0,525; p = 0,000 (p <0.05). This shows that there is a significant negative relationship between adversity quotient with psychological distress in medical students of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The higher adversity quotient, the lower psychological distress in medical students of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, and conversely.
