In a scenario of major changes caused mainly by the use of technology in academic environments, the article approaches information mediation concepts in the Brazilian, Portuguese and French scientific literature with the objective of identifying the main theoretical aspects from the areas of information science and of the communication, employees to the university library together with the vision of the Brazilian reference librarians on the term mediation of the information to find convergent and / or divergent points and to understand how occurs the mediation of the information realized in university libraries. In the methodology applied, of a qualitative character, the bibliographical research was used to identify the approaches given by the authors about the mediation of the information. Next, an online questionnaire was used to gather information about the understanding of reference librarians on the subject, focusing on the services offered in libraries. The results lead us to state that reference librarians understand the mediation of information and are aware of their role as mediators. However, the reference process was poorly detailed by the librarians and some confusion of what it is, how it is done, and in what medium it is made were identified in the answers. However, it can be reiterated that the reference process occurs in face-to-face or digital media, mainly in the orientation of the librarian to the user to meet an expressed informational need.

Health informatics is becoming increasingly important for healthcare professionals and strategies to promote health informatics development are becoming increasingly popular in undergraduate professional programmes. With this in mind, a blended or hybrid learning approach was piloted with an undergraduate BSc nursing module in the university. The aim of this pilot was to design, develop, implement and evaluate the students’ perceived reactions to learning, teaching and assessment incorporating several online components. Blended learning is the combination of multiple approaches to learning such as a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions used together to deliver instruction. A branded version of Sakai (the university’s Learning Management System [LMS]) was used. The students interacted with the system on a weekly basis and their perceptions were codified with the aid of an online questionnaire based on the preferred COLLES format. Additionally, a touch screen based recording suite was availed of permitting the students to record themselves performing a task and later review the footage. The initial findings appear to provide a positive outlook towards the use of technology within the course and the potential for further expansion in the near future.

This exploratory study, conducted during the first Covid-19 lockdown, formed part of the practical module of the Teacher Training in Primary Education course at the University of Udine, and was carried out on a sample of trainees enrolled on the course. The research had the following objectives: to understand the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown on trainees and to reflect on the impact on planning of teaching in a traditional classroom environment or in VLE, Virtual Learning Environment. In order to improve the practical components of the course, observations focused on organizational, methodological and pedagogical aspects. The data, gathered in an online questionnaire, provided a comparison of teacher training delivered in person in the pre-Covid period and in later training online. The data also provided information on the strengths and weaknesses of classroom and distance learning, on the use of technology and on the professional development of teachers in the future. The study found a multitude of issues that will need to be further explored in the post Covid period, including rethinking models and approaches in initial teacher training.    Tirocinio di Scienze della Formazione Primaria: uno studio esplorativo nel primo lockdown per Covid.   Il presente studio esplorativo è stato promosso, durante il primo lockdown per Covid-19, all’interno del Tirocinio del Corso di Studi in Scienze della Formazione Primaria dell’Università di Udine su un campione di studenti iscritti al tirocinio. La ricerca esplorativa ha avuto come obiettivi: comprendere le ricadute nei tirocinanti conseguenti allo stato di emergenza e riflettere sulla didattica in presenza e a distanza sui piani organizzativo, metodologico e pedagogico per potenziare l’offerta formativa del tirocinio. I dati, desunti da un questionario online, hanno permesso un confronto sul tirocinio in presenza nel periodo pre-Covid e successivamente svolto in DaD. I dati hanno fornito anche risultati su punti di forza e criticità della didattica in presenza e a distanza, sull’uso delle tecnologie e sulla professionalità docente futura. Lo studio ha inoltre rilevato una molteplicità di aspetti che andranno ulteriormente approfonditi per il periodo post Covid-19, tra cui il ripensamento di modelli ed approcci nella formazione iniziale degli insegnanti.

Amidst the COVID-19, the use of technology in the learning environment was no longer a matter of choice. Forced by circumstance, educators had to adapt in order to see the academic year through. While for some, already used to an online modality, it was business as always, for others was the start of a journey through unfamiliar territory. This study inserts itself in such context. It presents and discusses results gathered through an online questionnaire about the perceptions and personal experiences of design educators in Higher Education (HE) caught in this move from in-class face-to-face onto online teaching. Objectively, it portrays how this shift impacted their ability to teach, the compromises made or alternatives sought, and views towards a more technologically enabled future in HE. From a more extensive reliance on Learning Management Systems (LMS), changes in the learning environment, and perspectives of near-future uses of Virtual Reality (VR) in distance education, this study covers uses of technology but also the identification of pain points influencing the overall experience, as well as positive perceptions and significant changes made to the learning environment.

Cultivating research competencies facilitated by the use of technology in the university is crucial to boost acquisition of knowledge, educational innovation, and successful professional development. The objective of this article is to analyze the evolution and characteristics of scientific production that has had the greatest impact on the momentum of investigative competencies and their articulation within technological scenarios. Applying various selection criteria in the Scopus database, we utilized systematic, bibliometric mapping as a methodological strategy in which 250 articles related to the topic were identified, then analyzed with the semantic analysis software VOSViewer. The results indicate that there is an emerging line of research on the subject since 2016 and point to the underdevelopment of lines that associate research skills with digital literacy, information literacy, digital libraries databases, and the development of critical thinking.

This chapter revisits debates regarding the use of technology to enhance or remediate performances in the light of Emmanuel Levinas’s understanding of the ethical encounter as a face-to-face encounter between a subject and her/his other. Building on these debates and Robert Weimann’s distinction between locus and platea, it suggests that performance theory’s emphasis on the physical co-presence of spectator and performer undervalues the experience of the spectator. Using three productions that use digital media as examples, the chapter demonstrates how online live streaming (in Cheek by Jowl’s Measure for Measure), digital hologram projection (in the McGuires’ Ophelia’s Ghost), and the use of an online stage (in the RSC’s collaboration with Google+ on #dream40) each harness the affordances of digital media to create conceptual spaces in which spectators can experience ethical encounters. Digital media thus open up distinct ways of experiencing dilemmas explored by Shakespeare’s plays.

The objective of this research was to determine whether students would benefit from the incorporation of a teaching method known as peer instruction with clickers in first year information management classes at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Quantitative data was collected from selected classes over a period of two years. An attempt was made to confirm whether the benefits from using peer instruction with clickers recorded in previous studies were applicable to the subject of information management. Half of the selected classes used peer instruction as a teaching method, while the remaining half used a conventional face-to-face, one-to-many teaching method. Clickers were used to collect data from all classes, enabling a comparison of the two teaching methods. The different teaching methods applied revealed varying responses from the students, which also revealed different results in their class test scores. This quantitative data may potentially prove some benefits of using peer instruction with clickers to teach information management.Keywords: clickers, information management, peer instruction

Abstract — Indonesia is currently launching an era of demographic bonuses in which the productive population is more dominant than the non-productive population. They are the golden generation that will realize Indonesia Golden 2045. The subject of this research is about innovation in accounting learning to realize the educational goals of 2020, namely capacity building, modernization of the learning process with the use of technology, strengthening services, easy access, and can be felt by all levels of society. The method used is qualitative, data in the form of accounting learning videos on YouTube which are analyzed logically-inductively and then presented descriptively. The results of the study note that there is already an accounting learning video on YouTube but its nature is scattered so that it cannot be used as a complete learning medium for this purpose it is necessary to collaborate with several parties to create an integrated Accounting Learning account and complete one course in accordance with the established curriculum. In order for the video display to suit the tastes of the learner, the making involves students across campus. A complete accounting learning video can be used as a learning media with a blended learning system so that face-to-face meeting is more effective for practice and case studies.   Keywords: Accounting Learning; Millennial Generation; YouTube; Indonesia Gold 2045.

Las tendencias actuales muestran que los centros de estudios superiores que antes llenaban sus aulas sin esfuerzo, hoy en día deben hacer frente a la competencia y a la coyuntura del país. Por ello la Universidad Señor de Sipán debe plantear diversas alternativas para hacer frente a este panorama, como generar adecuadas estrategias de marketing con la finalidad de mejorar la comunicación y lograr una mayor interacción con los potenciales clientes. Se ha podido evidenciar que en los últimos 5 años la captación de alumnos en la Escuela Profesional de Administración en la modalidad presencial ha disminuido, los cambios en la política institucional y el mayor enfoque en medios de difusión tradicionales han sido factores determinantes. Con la finalidad de recoger información se aplicó el instrumento de medición  a una muestra de 134 estudiantes del I al III ciclo, de la Carrera de Administración, como resultado se identificó que el 26,9% de alumnos encuestados no encontraron publicidad de la carrera en medios digitales, sólo en medios masivos como diarios, revistas y volantes, mientras que el 10,4% de encuestados considera que la universidad no se ha centrado en captar a un segmento objetivo de la comunidad estudiantil por desconocer hábitos, costumbres, estilos de vida de los interesados en la oferta educativa. En consecuencia  se propone  una estrategia de marketing digital B2C que permita retener e incrementar la captación de estudiantes. Abstract Current trends show that higher education centers that used to fill their classrooms effortlessly, nowadays must face competition and the country's situation. Therefore, the Lord of Sipán University must propose different alternatives to face this panorama, such as generating adequate marketing strategies in order to improve communication and achieve greater interaction with potential clients. It has been shown that in the last 5 years the recruitment of students in the Professional School of Administration in the face-to-face modality has decreased, changes in institutional policy and the greater focus on traditional media have been determining factors. With the purpose of collecting information, the measuring instrument was applied to a sample of 134 students from the I to the III cycle of the Administration Degree, as a result it was identified that 26.9% of students surveyed did not find publicity of the career in digital media, only in mass media such as newspapers, magazines and leaflets, while 10.4% of respondents believe that the university has not focused on capturing an objective segment of the student community for ignoring habits, customs, lifestyles of those interested in the educational offer. Consequently, a B2C digital marketing strategy is proposed to retain and increase student recruitment. Keywords: Strategy, Digital marketing, social networks, recruitment

In this work, we determined, the level of incidence of the use of technologies on academic success and the incidence of interaction and experience on the level of plagiarism of university students. A sample of 10,952 students from 31 face-to-face universities in Ecuador was created. Students were classified based on their experience level, level of interaction with teachers and classmates, and the use they do with technology for academic activities. The results showed that the level of experience does not affect academic success, but does have an incidence on plagiarism levels that increase as this experience increases. Plagiarism reaches higher levels when level of experience, family income and hours of connection per day increases. Academic performance depends on the number of hours that students seek information and the number of academic videos they watch. Also, plagiarism tends to decrease as the student makes better use of technology for their academic activities.

The objective of this work is to present the research that was carried out with the students and faculty of the Academic Divisions of Networks and Telecommunications and Computer Systems, where the didactic resources and learning strategies were identified, which are used for academic advising with students in the subject of programming and networks. The investigation that was applied was of quantitative type, a questionnaire in Google drive with closed response questions was used as an information gathering instrument and the sample that was taken was about the students enrolled in the second and third semester. Where it was identified that 90.6% of students and 100% of teachers would like the incorporation of videos as a strategy for understanding a specific topic. Derived from the result obtained, Vodcast was designed as a didactic resource that strengthens the learning and professional skills of the University Higher Technician (TSU).
