Abstract. Indonesia is one of the largest woven arts producing countries in the world, especially in the diversity of decoration in the Bugis, Makassar dan Mandar rgions. This weaving activity is maintained down and down from one generation to the text in the family, so that it can stiil take pleace today. The writing of this article aims to explore and increase knowledge about the traditional woven tradition of Mandar silk. To find out why weaving activities can still take place until now.
