Different types of mental problems are observed with individuals involved in the educational space, with school pupils, university students, teachers/lecturers and other staff involved in the field. These problems include cognitive, emotional, motivational, behavioral, personal, and social aspects. The existing psychological resource requires additional forces, in particular the addition of a telephone psychological counseling service. Psychological counseling is an interactive process between a qualified counselor and a client. To implement it at a qualified level requires training of psychologist consultants, equipping them with the appropriate knowledge and methods, that is a purpose of the presented article.

This work analyzed the effects of unrealistic optimism in the interaction between the emotional valence of future events, the perception of control over these events, and the person with whom one compares oneself. It was hypothesized that, if the person of comparison is judged as very competent, a pessimistic bias should be produced. Likelihood of four different types of events (positive and controllable, positive and uncontrollable, negative and controllable, and negative and uncontrollable) were rated by 133 university students (22 men and 111 women) for themselves, for an average student, for their best friend, and for a bright friend. A pessimistic bias was observed on the relative likelihood of the events when the comparison was made between oneself and a competent and bright friend, when events were perceived as controllable, especially positive ones. Not enough is known, however, to provide meaningful interpretation at present; that must await further data and theoretical development.

New time challenges cause new contradictions that are peculiar for educational environment in Russia and they require instant solutions. We have identified the contradictions which defined our target to determine the techniques and methods of distance education for students of pedagogical specializations based on practice-oriented approach, implementation of media educational technologies into the preparation of university students aimed at the development of knowledge, competencies and skills in distance learning in different types of educational institutions. Media educational technologies are conditioned by general pedagogical and didactic principles and the choice of pedagogical methods directly depends on the content of educational discipline, conditions of its implementation and other factors. Media educational technologies used for the completion of social-pedagogical disciplines for university students consist of creative and game tasks. Using them it is essential to consider special features of various media and the target of the lesson. Practice is another relevant purpose in the process of distance learning. We believe that this problem will be dominating in the nearest future as practice in distance learning is focused on by higher education institutions. In this article some techniques and types of this practical training are presented being shaped by the format of distance learning. During various practices the students of pedagogical specializations will be able not only to prepare for their future work but also to assist subject teachers, social pedagogues in schools and to make considerable contributions in this work.

This study assessed the reliability of nine different measures used in reading and typographic research. Test-retest correlations were calculated for university students and schoolchildren, both male and female. It was clear that some measures were more reliable than others: for example, oral reading was highly reliable, but comprehension was not. The results are discussed with reference to the objectives of different types of measure.

200 university students were tested to determine whether or not different types of finger prints were associated with personality test data. Comparisons were made between the three main finger-print types: loop, whorl and arch, on each of the 10 digits for each scale on the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16 PF). Subjects with arches on their left index fingers or left middle fingers scored significantly higher on the Neuroticism factor (forthright versus shrewd) than people who had whorls on these fingers. However, no obvious large or simple relationships were found in this preliminary study between the 16 PF scores and finger-print types.

The scope of the article is to discuss the issue of the parents sharing the information about their children in social media. Basing on literature and researches review, the scale of sharenting phenomenon was introduced. Its different types were discussed and its chosen legal, ethical and social aspects were characterized. The risks (i.e. identity theft and exposing children to cyberviolence) and rewards (i.e. sharing the experience, seeking and providing support) of such parents’ activity in the Internet were presented as well. Sharenting generates dilemmas connected with finding the balance between the parents’ right to express freely and the child’s right to have privacy, dignity and identity. There is a need of educational actions, directed to both parents and society, about the children’s security and safety of their privacy in the Internet.

Research background: Teleworking is becoming more current and more used. It is an instrument that allows and supports globalization. The corona crisis increased its use even more. Teleworking has advantages, but also disadvantages which are perceived and evaluated by its users. With its more intense penetration, the users’ perception will become an important factor in the implementation. Teleworking has effects both on the whole economy and on the employees - it affects their social life, their working relations, and their flexibility. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the article is to identify the students’ perception of advantages and disadvantages of teleworking and the development of this perception from the year 2018 to the year 2020. In 2020, the data were collected during and after the corona crisis, and so we can observe its effects. Methods: We used an electronic survey to monitor students’ opinion on teleworking and processed the data by methods of descriptive statistics and more advanced statistical methods to obtain their characteristics. Findings & Value added: We found out that the perception of teleworking’s advantages and disadvantages didn’t change much from the year 2018 and stayed relatively stable in spite of the crisis. Only some effects of teleworking were considered by our respondents a little differently, e.g., the social aspects. Our findings may be used in addressing the perceived disadvantages of teleworking and supporting its advantages.

Schools and universities are the main spaces for learning, in which he building design can easily affect the learning and interactive process where indoor environment should be considered carefully when designing these learning spaces. One of the most important factors considered is lighting. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of different types of indoor lighting on the learning and interactive process. In this research, The indoors lighting efficacy in two different types of educational places were tested in a quantitative way in addition to users survey for these places to test their satisfaction with the current indoor lighting quality which results that the users prefers natural lighting although it got negative feedback due to inconsistency. Finally, this research gives some recommendations for the usage of the indoors lighting to further enhance the learning and interactive process

ABSTRACT A plethora of studies aiming to improve dietary, physical activity (PA), and weight-related (WR) outcomes among university students have been implemented and summarized in a series of systematic reviews, with unclear conclusions regarding their effectiveness. This overview aims to identify systematic reviews and meta-analyses of studies aiming to improve health outcomes in university students, to assess their methodological quality, to identify the different types of interventions used and outcomes assessed, and to estimate their overall effect. Four electronic databases were searched until 19 March, 2018 following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. The identified reviews were described and their methodological quality was rated. The studies of reviews were investigated to identify the different types of interventions used and outcomes assessed. Effectiveness was assessed by measuring the overall number of improved outcomes out of the total number of outcomes reported. As a result, 8 reviews were identified targeting food sales (n = 2), dietary (n = 3), PA (n = 1), WR (n = 1), or all outcomes (n = 1). The methodological quality of the reviews was moderate (n = 5) to low (n = 3). In all, the reviews included 122 studies, of which 36 used an environmental, 51 a face-to-face, 30 an e-intervention, and 5 a combined approach. Environmental interventions improved a moderate number of food sales (32 of 61) and dietary intake (22 of 47) outcomes. Face-to-face interventions improved a high number of dietary cognitive outcomes (15 of 18), a moderate number of dietary intake (28 of 65) and WR (11 of 18) outcomes, and a low number of PA behavioral (22 of 69) and cognitive (2 of 14) outcomes. E-interventions improved a high number of dietary cognitive variables (11 of 16) but had a low effect (≤33%) on the other types of outcomes. In conclusion, face-to-face and e-interventions improved cognitive variables toward diet or PA but were less effective in changing actual behaviors. Environmental interventions favorably changed food sales. Face-to-face and e-interventions moderately affected WR outcomes. Future research should focus on long-term studies.
