The aim of this study is to ascertain the determinants of the stock market price in Nepalese commercial banks for the period of 2065/66 to 2074/75. It is based on pooled cross-sectional data of ten banks for 10 years whose stocks are listed in Nepal stock exchange. The study employed correlational and causal comparative research design and result reveals that book value per share, price earnings ratio, return on equity have positive relationship with stock price. Dividend yield has positive but minimum influence on the price of the stock whereas size has negative relationship and is statistically insignificant with stock price. Further, it reveals that book value per share is a most influential factor that determines stock price in Nepal.

This study is entirely based on secondary sources of data. The data has been collected from the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The descriptive and analytical research designs have been used to analyze the sample. The data has-been examined to determine the financial health of Nepalese commercial banks. Financial ratios help in predicting the stock price. The twenty-seven commercial banks are taken as a sample for the study. The information and data has been collected for the year 2065/066. The independent variables earning per share, price earnings ratio, dividend per share, return on equity and book value per share and the dependent variable is market price per share. The financial ratios have been collected from the financial statements of the sample banks and NEPSE. The theoretical framework determines the dependent variable and independent variables. Hence, this event has been used to analyze the financial ratio and variables as independent variables to predict the dependent variable e.g., stock price. In this research five independent variables has been used e.g., price earnings ratio, earning per share, dividend per share, return on equity, and book value per share with the dependent variable e.g., stock Price. The descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and multiple regression models is used to states the impact of independent variables on dependent variable empirically. These models aroused as a strong tool to establish and find if the relationship or correlation exists between the variables. This research also throws light on the ratios can help to predict the stock return for the next period. Results give a clear indication that the P/E Ratio and EPS have the positive impact on the stock price in the NEPSE. The Nepalese investors can rely on the price earnings ratio and the earning per share to predict the market price per share. Hence, the overall conclusion of this research is that the financial variables direct the investors in NEPSE. If the answer is yes investors can rely on P/E ratio and EPS on the confidence level is 99 percent and significance level is below 0.01 which gives clear indication that price earnings ratio and earnings per share may influence the stock price of commercial banks in Nepal.

The study aims at identifying the impact of stock characteristics represented by (Earnings Per Share (EPS), Book Value Ratio (BVR), Dividends Per Share (DPS), Dividends Payout Ratio (DPR), Market to Book Ratio (MBR), Price Earnings Ratio (PER), and Yield Per Share (YPE)) on the market stock price in the 13 commercial banks in Jordan during the period from 2005 to 2018. Multiple Linear Regression has been used to illustrate the impact of the independent variables and the controlling variables on the dependent variable. The study has found that there is a significant impact of stock characteristics on its market price at the Jordanian commercial banks. The study also found a statistically significant impact for each book value ratio, dividends per share, market to book ratio, price-earnings ratio, and yield per share on the market price at the Jordanian commercial banks. However, there was no statistically significant effect for each of the earnings per share and dividend’s payout ratio on the market price at the Jordanian commercial banks. The study recommends that investors, analysts, and decision-makers use the characteristics of stocks when carrying out analyses before making important investment decisions that can affect their wealth in the future through forecasting stock prices.

This study relates cross-sectional differences in stock prices of Nepalese commercial banks to the underlying behavior of six fundamental variables: earnings per share, book value per share, cash dividend per share, stock dividend per share, price earnings ratio, and firm size. This study uses secondary sources of data. The balanced panel data from commercial banks including 150 observations are used for the period of 2000-2014. The earnings per share and stock dividend per share are the more significant determinants of stock prices of commercial banks in Nepal. The performance of the stock dividend is especially noteworthy; this variable is statistically and economically the most important of the six fundamental variables investigated.NCC JournalVol. 3, No. 1, 2018, page: 44-64

Before the evaluation of big data analytics predicting the optimal share price in the stock market is very difficult, by applying the big data analytics it is easy to predict frequent patterns and feature outcomes in any domain. So in this paper we consider the financial domain to predict feature outcomes of share prices in the Indian stock exchange. We first gathered the dataset with duration 2011-2016 financial years of TCS Company, the reason to choose TCS dataset it is a trust based company and datasets are available at open access with all parameters. Market price per share is strongly effect by company’s variable like price earnings, dividend yield, dividend per share, earnings per share, book value per share, and return on equity, after observing the results we conclude that the variables price earnings, book value per share and firm size are important determinants of share prices in the Indian stock market. The regression model achieved a high R2 (0.94) for the closed price and book value per share variable and also the model achieved a high R2 (0.98) for the closed price and price earnings.

This study offers empirical findings on the impact of institutional variables on firm’s stock market price performance. In order to identify the influence of companies financial on NIFTY 50 Index, our sample consists of balanced panel of 30 actively traded companies (that becomes the study’s index representative) over a massive transition period, 1995–2014. Attempts have been made with a wide range of econometric models and estimators, from the relatively straightforward to (static) more complex (dynamic panel analyses) to deal with the relevant econometric issues. Results indicate that increasing debt in capital structure does not establish any significant relation with the stock prices. Earnings per share (EPS) shows a poor explanation of price variation. Economic value added (EVA) indicates a positive relation with current as well as previous year’s stock price performances. However, dividend payout (DIVP) and dividend per share (DPS) achieve negative relationship at moderately significant level. The present study confirms that performance of companies fundamental ratios will be essential and immensely helpful to investors and analysts in assessing the better stocks that belong to different industry groups.

The research objectives to examine the magnitude of the significant influence between financial ratios and the market based ratio toward the stock price of manufacturing industry sector in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). In accordance IDX data by December 2013, the number of companies, included in the stock of the manufacturing industry sector, is 139 companies. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the variable return on assets (ROA) and price to book value (PBV) has positive influence on stock prices. It can be interpreted that the higher the return on assets ratio and price to book value, the more positive influence on the increase of the stock price. The variable debt to equity ratio (DER) and price earnings ratio (PER) has negatively influence the stock price on the stock of manufacturing industry sector. This can be interpreted the higher the value of the debt to equity ratio and price earnings ratio, the more negatively influence on the decrease stock price.
