The article presents a method for assessing the quality of roads using geographic information technologies to create digital models of the road and the surrounding area. The construction of such digital models is performed on the basis of geospatial coordinates to be processed during the certification of roads. When processing data in specialized software packages, geometric parameters and indicators of compliance with traffic safety conditions are obtained on the basis of spatial coordinates. Based on the constructed digital models, the indicators of functional wear are estimated.

The noise pollution is an important factor for people living near roads. The road traffic noise is endangering the health of these residents and the quality of their lives. The tyre / road noise became the most significant source of the road traffic noise due reduced noise emissions from the vehicle propulsion system by the automotive industry. An important recent trend is increasing the traffic safety by improving anti-skid properties of roads in critical locations. Experts have concluded that some anti-skid modifications may increase the noise pollution. Because the usage of such pavements is predominantly in urban areas, problems may occur. This paper deals with the noise level of the safety anti-skid modification of the road surface used in the urban areas. Based on the presented measurement values it can be said that the RocbindaTM safety anti-skid modification does not achieve any increased acoustic performance compared to the asphalt pavement.

We see, use and interact with different type of landscape every day. One of the important types is the road landscape we encounter during travel, whether a business trip, vacation or just on the way to and from home. Such landscapes can often help to introduce us to new regions or invite us to explore the surrounding areas because we partly experience the world around us from the road. Road landscapes combine important aspects of road and transport infrastructure as well as the quality of life of local people, traffic safety and tourism development. Road landscape development concerns both landowners and road users, each of whom might have different interests and understanding about possible landscape development and its consequences. Therefore, it is important to plan, discuss, present, and evaluate the future developments of any road landscape. The subject of road landscape has been little studied in Latvia. There are no recommendations on road landscape evaluation. Here we present a methodology for assessing perceptions of road landscapes. We aim to introduce several methods in combination that can be used in road landscape assessment, in order to show possible future developments of the road corridor and its surroundings and to test how potential changes might be perceived by road users. A combination of a case study approach, a scenario method, the use of 3D animations and of a web-based questionnaire survey are presented and discussed in the paper.

Abstract. The introduction of information technologies into the practice of healthcare significantly changes the methods of diagnosis and treatment, the forms of interaction of doctors with patients and colleagues, the organization of treatment and restoration of health. Modern digital medicine makes it possible to increase the availability, quality and efficiency of medical care. The development of modern three-dimensional modeling and the introduction of a new generation of spiral computed tomographs have significantly expanded the possibilities of using these information technologies in reconstructive surgery. The performed study deals with the problems of forming the personalized digital models of anatomical structures according to patient's tomographic data. The principles of tomographic image segmentation are considered. A review and comparison of the specialized software for obtaining of digital models with the use of tomographic data is given. The evaluation of the functionality, speed and quality of the models is presented. Practical recommendations on the use of the software for creating digital models for medical applications are given. The issues of certification of personalized models and medical products are discussed.

The road safety has close relation to road alignment, and operation speed is the key factor of the road traffic safety. We should make an evaluation on the safety of the road alignment indexes after finishing the design of the road alignment to judge the reasonability of the road alignment indexes. This paper studies the traffic safety of the road alignment based on the idea of operation speed, evaluates the quality of the road alignment by the operation speed, make further improvement for the road alignment indexes, and test the rationality of this idea through engineering examples.

Transport traffic safety depends on many factors; one of them being the efficiency of the vehicle braking. The efficiency of the vehicle depends on the reaction of the driver, the braking system, the quality of tires, the characteristics of the road surface. The vehicle with the hydraulic braking system and a disc brake with the wheel has been investigated. The dynamic models of the disk brake assembly and the wheel have been constructed. The braking distances of the vehicle with a hydraulic ABS on the asphalt concrete pavement with shortwave roughness and different initial velocity are obtained.

The compaction quality of the subgrade is directly related to the service life of the road. Effective control of the subgrade construction process is the key to ensuring the compaction quality of the subgrade. Therefore, real-time, comprehensive, rapid and accurate prediction of construction compaction quality through informatization detection method is an important guarantee for speeding up construction progress and ensuring subgrade compaction quality. Based on the function of the system, this paper puts forward the principle of system development and the development mode used in system development, and displays the development system in real-time to achieve the whole process control of subgrade construction quality.

Greening of roads contributes to the protection of roads and their elements from influence of adverse weather and climatic factors; it includes the measures for improvement and landscaping of roads, ensures the protection of roadside areas from transport pollution, provides visual orientation of drivers. The solution of these issues will ensure creation and maintenance of safe and comfortable conditions for travelers. Green plantings in the right-of-way road area include woody, bushy, flower and grass vegetation of natural and artificial origin. For proper operation of public roads and satisfaction of other needs of the industry, there may be the need in removing the greenery. The reason for the removal of greenery in the right-of-way road area may be due to the following factors: construction of the architectural object, widening of the motor road, repair works in the security zone of overhead power lines, water supply, drainage, heating, telecommunications facilities, cutting of hazardous, dry and fautal trees, as well as self-grown and brushwood trees with a root neck diameter not exceeding 5 cm, elimination of the consequences of natural disasters and emergencies. The removal of plantations in the right-of-way area is executed in order to ensure traffic safety conditions and to improve the quality of plantations composition and their protective properties. Nowadays, in Ukraine there is no clear procedure for issuing permits for removing of such plantations. In order to resolve this issue, there is a need in determining the list of regulations in the area of forest resources of Ukraine and, if needed, the list of regulatory acts that have to be improved; to prepare a draft of the regulatory legal act that would establish the procedure of plantations cutting, the methodology of their condition determination, recovery costs determination, the features of cutting. Keywords: plantations, cutting, right-of-way, woodcutting permit, order.
