The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use and impact of COACH (Choosing Options and Accommodations for Children: A Guide to Planning Inclusive Education) with 30 students with deaf-blindness who attended general education classes in public schools. Interview and observational data were analyzed qualitatively while document data were analyzed quantitatively. The findings and discussion centered around five evaluation questions: (a) How do people use COACH? (b) Does the use of COACH result in educational program components referenced to valued life outcomes identified by parents and/or students? (c) How do educational programs developed using COACH differ from those developed prior to its use? (d) In what ways did the use of COACH effect relationships between parents and professionals? and (e) In what ways did the use of COACH effect valued life outcomes for students? Implications for planning in general education settings are discussed.

Purpose: test development to determine the level of environmental literacy of students in the basic educational program of secondary general education, taking into account the level of knowledge of students in grades 10–11 and approbation of this testing at MBOU Secondary School no. 32 in Novocherkassk. Materials and Methods. While developing the tests, the literature analysis in the field of environmental safety was carried out, the training of the test groups at school was taken into account, which was the reason for an additional analysis of textbooks in general education subjects related to ecology and (or) environmental safety, with regard to the fact that the textbooks selected for analysis should be included in the federal list of textbooks. The structure of the test is described, and an example of test questions is given. Results and Discussions. The test result processing was carried out using MS Excel. The diagrams were built for each test group based on the results obtained, reflecting the level of environmental literacy of each studied class, then, on the obtained test result processing, a general summary diagram determining the level of students’ environmental literacy in four classes was built. The trend line as a growth indicator in an unsatisfactory test result was used in chart. Conclusions: students of secondary general education have a rather low level of environmental literacy. During the tests checking, the regularity that students answered correctly mainly the questions related to school subjects was revealed. The studies confirm that environmental education in schools which has only a small niche in educational work is not paid enough attention.

The article discusses the methodological aspects of teaching algorithmization and the basics of robotics using the educational constructor LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 in the TRIK Studio environment. The advantages of using the TRIK Studio programming environment to control both a real robot "live" and a virtual one in simulation mode are shown. Based on the methodology for introducing basic algorithmic constructions and types of algorithms by I.G. Semakin, examples of solving a system of problems using commands to control the EV3 robot in the TRIK Studio environment are given. The LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Robot is seen as a new performer in the TRIK Studio environment. The article highlights directions and provides examples of tasks for further mastering the basics of robotics and algorithmization. The parallel study of the basics of robotics with the study of the algorithmization section based on the task approach allows you to organize the learning process in the informatics course based on interdisciplinary and STEM approaches, to implement the requirements of the Approximate Basic Educational Program of Basic General Education (2015).

We presented and briefly described stages of evolution of practical-oriented development of socialization of children in conditions of integration of general and extracurricular education of children. The study bases on the theory of social partnership, the concept of integration of general and extracurricular education. We established three main stages of evolution of practical-oriented development of socialization of children in conditions of integration of general and extracurricular education of children. We described the main stages of evolution by presenting the main models of integration, key regulatory documents. We found that the key resource for integrating general and complementary education is the ideological, substantive and organizational unity of key components of the educational process in the school. The integration of extra-time activities and the development of extracurricular education programmes creates favourable conditions for the fuller self-realization of students. A modern school needs a holistic project of instrumentally equipped educational and methodological support for combining extracurricular education and out-of-hours activities of students during the socialization of schoolchildren. One of the possible mechanisms for combining extracurricular and general education in the socialization of schoolchildren may be the formation, discussion and approval of an educational program of general education levels of a general education organization.

Consideration of the industry-specifi c training in relation to the basic and advanced levels of the basic educational program is justifi ed. The specifi cs of the functioning of methodical system learning in profi le of learning mathematics is considered. The planned results of learning school mathematics in the cognitive area are considered in accordance with the stages of learning activities. These “goal-orientations” are aimed at the formation of cognitive and regulatory universal educational actions. Subject and metasubject results are concretized taking into account the specifi cs of mathematics. The authors marked the skills that characterize the achievement of the planned results for the basic and advanced levels. Planned results in the fi eld of emotionally-valuable attitude to the process of learning mathematics are directed on formation of communications affi rmative and regulatory universal educational actions. As an example the planned results of studying of the topic “Сomplex numbers” are presented. The authors describe the principles of organization of profi le training mathematics in the conditions of informatization of education.

IN ORDER FOR THE INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH MILD DISABILITIES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT THE SECONDARY LEVEL, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CAREFULLY CONSIDER THE DEMANDS AND EXPECTATIONS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS ON BOTH STUDENTS AND FACULTY. THIS ARTICLE PRESENTS TWO CASE EXAMPLES OF SCHOOLS THAT HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SUCCESSFULLY INCLUDE STUDENTS WITH MILD DISABILITIES THROUGHOUT THE GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM. IN EACH INSTANCE, IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE PROCESS OF BUILDING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS CONDUCIVE TO INCLUSION TAKES CONSIDERABLE TIME AND A BROAD BASE OF FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT AND COMMITMENT. ADDITIONALLY, EACH EXAMPLE CLEARLY ILLUSTRATES NEED FOR “SUPPORTED INCLUSION” AND NOT MERELY“ INCLUSION” FOR AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM THAT RESULTS IN MEANINGFUL STUDENT OUTCOMES.
