This paper is studying influence of new technologies on city development with accent on socio-spatial dimension. The primary goal of the paper is to point out the reflections of earlier ideas in the context of modern technological processes in cities. All social, technical and technological components of a community, and finally civilization, are reflected within space of the city. Although having remained the greatest consumer of many material goods, city has also become a ‘’producer’’ of many technical-technological and spiritual values of civilization. Taking into account acceleration of phenomena in the world of technology and technology featuring modernity, it reasonably brings a question on realistic chance for prediction of their further course and related social changes that are about to cause it. In many scenarios of urban future, one can sense the idea of a city as a result of high technological achievements of civilization. Special attention is paid on informational city which, connecting a lot of people into systems of interactive information technology change the way of their mutual communication, as well as their social life and culture of behaviour. Measure of organization and function of city is set by telecommunication technologies, information, and computers. If city is a ‘’print of a society in space’’, then a contemporary moment refers to ‘’digitalization’’ of human beings, digitalization of their interactions, new aesthetics, value and other criteria. The tendency of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of new technologies on 21st century cities interpreted primarily through the prism of certain theoretical and experimental ideas and concepts of the 20th century.

Homosapiens is the common family name for contemporary human beings. There are different kinds of homo species but the most recent one with the most improved abilities are human beings of the present era, who have adapted themselves to the new technologies and life conditions by improving themselves. The substantial improvements in technology started with the French Revolution in 1799. Initially, technology helped human beings in the production and industry sectors. Thereafter, in the 1990s, technology penetrated living spaces, firstly helping with household duties and then impacting social life, first with the radio and later with the television. Living spaces started to change through the organisation of spaces, and most houses were organised according to location reserved for the television. This is the biggest change brought about by technology in living spaces. The expectations of human beings were on the rise simultaneously with economic welfare and consumption-based demands. In the 2000s, phyisical limitations occurred, while expectations increased even more. These were constraints over time, materials and economy, and the solution came from technology via virtual reality and generated cyber spaces, which were without limits, economical and surpassed the built environments. Due to the lack of physical conditions, built envionments ceded their place to virtual living spaces and virtual cities. In the present study, data collection was undertaken via a study of innovations within living spaces and also via an observation of social lives within living spaces. The present article aims to present what can be foreseen, on the basis of cause and effect, concerning the impacts of the current evolution on the one hand and massive outbreaks of viruses on the other hand, the impacts on the physical spaces of the homosapiens species that have succeeded in adapting to all the changes that they have come across from their beginnings until the present era, the impacts that both phenomena will have on the current living standards and living spaces of humans and what changes human living spaces will undergo in the ongoing process of evolution. Human beings will continue renewing themselves throughout the said phenomena before concluding their process of evolution.   Keywords: Innovative, technology, living spaces, living standards, homosapiens.

The ideal city planning, in fact is the combination between livable and sustainable city, where the city is able to maintain the quality of life in the present as well as the future, furthermore it generates a comfortable atmosphere for a place to live as seen from many aspects.  Yogyakarta is one of the livable cities in Indonesia with the highest index score, 68.14% for social life and 70.89% for the preservation of cultural heritage building. Considering the mission of Yogyakarta which is to enhance cultural quality and strengthen morality, behavior and cultural value of the community, it is considerable to conduct a research regarding to livable city index in Yogyakarta based on the criteria of cultural heritage.   Furthermore, this research used scoring dichotomy data as a methodology with variables: the changes in building's form and function, the ownership status and the usage of cultural heritage building, as well as the amount of cultural heritage buildings that have been demolished and/or in the process of demolition. The results show the highest livable index for preservation of cultural heritage building is in cultural preservation area Kotagede (41.77%), followed by Kraton (20.66%), Malioboro (14.06%), Pakualaman (13.21%) and the least is Kotabaru (10.03%). Identical to any inland cities in Java, Kota Malang also possesses an <em>alun-alun</em> in its downtown, completed with a Jami’ Mosque on the west side. This composition clearly shows some features of capital city’s typology in Java. Beside the similarity, some differences from the typology are also found in Alun-Alun Malang. The composition of Alun-Alun Kota Malang doesn’t put the square as the main orientation of <em>pendopo</em> as the center of the government. Furthermore, the position and function of Jami’ Mosque are dynamically follows the existence of Alun-alun Kota Malang which grows simultaneously with the city development. Thus research about the positional and functional relationships between the Jami’ Mosque and the Alun-Alun needs to be held. A phenomenological approach is used for this research. Primary data is collected through interview with the users, analysts and observers of Alun-Alun in order to grasp an idea of their assumptions about the mosque’s function. Meanwhile, the secondary data is attempted to obtain historical data of Alun-alun Kota Malang, including the establishment and the expansions of Jami’ Mosque, especially when it became Grand Mosque of Kota Malang. The data were compared with the phenomenon which occurs at the moment, the desires and the needs of the user community, as well as the sustainability of function and position the mosque as the identity of <em>alun-alun</em>. The findings of this research are the functions of the Grand Mosque are closely related to the phenomenon of the Alun-Alun’s development.

The idea of internet of things plays an important role in the development of future technology. IOT is the basic vision for the future success growth in finding the new technologies. The logical basis for a course of action behind the IOT working is the result of combining or uniting all the sources of communication technologies. All the devices which are present in the system are made to function with each other , just to perform their job in a balanced manner. Due to the increase in population, it lets the city and villages to facilitate and function in a better and smarter way. Therefore, above lines put together a reason for the invention of idea of smart cities. For this to work, these cities performed two different functions. First function is all about only fetching the information from both sensors and other remote devices. Second function analyzes the information which is observed from the above function and appropriate actions are made. This paper explains the idea about smart villages, it is focused completely on villages to study them and then provide the solution for those affected areas. It also helps in the improvement of their quality of life.

Urban farming is defined as building development for the production of plants for the needs of the local community. The presented issues concern the shaping of urban farms for the preservation of the environmental balance of urban spaces and connections concerning the coexistence of architecture and greenery in the city. This chapter indicates the possibility of shaping synergistic spatial systems by integrating urban space and buildings with an innovative production function—a municipal farm—that complements the functional structure of the city in connection with the shaping of public spaces and the greenery system. The pro-environmental architecture connected with technologies enabling the production of plants in buildings enables the integration of urban space, complementing the functional and spatial structure of the city. The implementation of new technologies enables the production of plants in hydroponic and aeroponic farm buildings. The urban farm is an element in planning the city's sustainable development.
