The article present a survey of the current status of the oil industry raw materials base, trends and results of research of an acoustic technology, using of the borehole technical noise. The aim of the research is a theoretical justification and innovative solutions development of acoustic waves transforming and applying them for improving of standards of hydrocarbon production perfor-mance without using of additional energy sources. As an example, the approved acoustic technologies, developed by applying of new methods to the deep investigated acoustic phenomenon - standing acoustic waves, are used. The result is a substantiation of a new acoustic technology, which is developed by means of innovative and renovative technical solutions.

The author of the article discloses the prospects of development of the world feed production for aquaculture based on the analysis of key innovative technological and market trends. The author specifies that shortage, high cost, low ecological compatibility of traditional raw materials - fish flour - are among major limiting factors in the development of production of feeds for aquaculture. This fact, in turn, limits sustainable development of aquaculture both in Russia, and in the world in general. The article presents the overview of a current status of the world industry of feed production in aquaculture, where the regional situation is studied, as well. For the first time, there is given the outlook of innovative technologies in feed production based on the alternative sources of protein (on the example of projects of leading aquabiotechnological companies) which will determine industry’s objectives for the mid-term perspective.

When repairing and replacing electrical wiring in enterprises, the main difficulty is the lack or poor quality of documentation, plans for conductors laying. Distinguishing wires (cables) and their cores by the color of the shells or using tags attached to the ends is difficult if the shells have the same color and there are no tags. Devices and technical solutions used to identify wires and cables do not allow recognizing conductors without breaking the electrical circuit, removing insulation, and de-energizing the network. Searching for the right conductor is a time-consuming operation. (Research purpose) The research purpose is developing a new microcontroller device for identifying wires using an acoustic signal. (Materials and methods) Literature sources has been searched for devices for conductors identifying. (Results and discussion) The article proposes a method that involves feeding an acoustic signal to a wire at one point and capturing it at another, in order to recognize the desired wire. The article presents results of comparison of the developed microcontroller device for identifying conductors using an acoustic signal with known devices and methods for conductors recognizing. (Conclusions) The article reveals the shortcomings of existing methods and means of identifying wires and cables. Authors performed a theoretical calculation of the sound pressure in the conductor at a given distance. The article presents the calculation of speed of acoustic waves in conductors with different types of insulation. Authors designed a microcontroller device for identifying conductors using an acoustic signal and tested it. It was determined that the device increases the safety of work, reduces the cost of operating internal wiring and identification time; eliminates the violation of wire insulation, the need to disable electrical receivers. The convergence of theoretical calculations and experimental data was shown.

Purpose – Recent literature emphasizes the application of lean manufacturing practices to food processing industries in order to improve operational efficiency and productivity. Only a very limited number of studies have focused on the implementation of lean manufacturing practices within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the food sector. The majority of these studies used the case study method and concentrated on individual lean manufacturing techniques geared towards resolving efficiency issues. This paper aims to analyze the status of the lean manufacturing practices and their benefits and barriers among European food processing SMEs. Design/methodology/approach – A structured questionnaire was developed to collect data. A total of 35 SMEs' representatives, mostly CEOs and operations managers, participated in the survey. The study investigated the role of two control variables in lean implementation: size of the company and country of origin. Findings – The findings show that lean manufacturing practice deployment in food processing SMEs is generally low and still evolving. However, some lean manufacturing practices are more prevalent than others; e.g. flow, pull and statistical process control are not widely used by the food processing SMEs, whereas total productive maintenance, employee involvement, and customer association are more widespread. The key barriers encountered by food SMEs in the implementation of lean manufacturing practices result from the special characteristics of the food sector, such as highly perishable products, complicated processing, extremely variable raw materials, recipes and unpredictable demand. In addition, lack of knowledge and resources makes it difficult for food processing SMEs to embark on the lean journey. Originality/value – The gap in the literature regarding the application of lean manufacturing in the food sector is identified and addressed in this study. The originality of this paper lies in analyzing the current status of the use of lean manufacturing practices among food SMEs in Europe and identifying potential barriers.

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques can significantly extend global oil reserves once oil prices are high enough to make these techniques economic. Given a broad consensus that we have entered a period of supply constraints, operators can at last plan on the assumption that the oil price is likely to remain relatively high. This, coupled with the realization that new giant fields are becoming increasingly difficult to find, is creating the conditions for extensive deployment of EOR. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the nature, status and prospects for EOR technologies. It explains why the average oil recovery factor worldwide is only between 20% and 40%, describes the factors that contribute to these low recoveries and indicates which of those factors EOR techniques can affect. The paper then summarizes the breadth of EOR processes, the history of their application and their current status. It introduces two new EOR technologies that are beginning to be deployed and which look set to enter mainstream application. Examples of existing EOR projects in the mature oil province of the North Sea are discussed. It concludes by summarizing the future opportunities for the development and deployment of EOR.

The paper discusses the current status of the HLW vitrification technology applied at the radiochemical plant of the Mayak PA. Conceptual and technical solutions proposed to develop the technology of vitrification of various types of liquid HLW at the Mayak PA are presented. Compositions of borosilicate glasses with HLW components are described, temperatures of their melting and easy pouring are determined. Chemical durability parameters obtained for the borosilicate glasses are provided.

Background/Context The introduction of a racial equity policy provided an opportunity for one school district to examine its systems. The policy addressed structural inequity, as well as cultural literacy issues, internal personal biases, and other power dynamic differences in a historically impacted city. Researchers from a local research-practice policy partnered with the district Director of Equity to support the implementation of a racial equity policy that could be informed by data and research. Purpose/Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate if early warning indicators, specifically indicators of organizational readiness and a Director's leadership skills, could guide the implementation of a racial equity policy. Research Design The study explored using two instruments adapted from Adaptive Leadership to provide iterative feedback on the implementation of a new, challenging policy. Through development of an interview protocol that included potential leading indicators as well as qualitative prompts focused on readiness challenges and successes, the research team and Director met every three weeks to generate data and reflect on preliminary themes. Findings/Results The team found that the indicators of organizational readiness and leadership skill were helpful in informing on the current status and developing new ideas and scenarios to ease implementation of the policy. The qualitative data yielded themes highlighting critical tensions and focus areas essential for practitioners to consider when implementing a racial equity policy. Conclusions/Recommendations The primary implication of the study is that leaders and researchers need to focus on systems-level organizational work and the development of leadership skills. Leaders must anticipate district and school staff defaulting to technical rather than adaptive solutions, especially when addressing the goal of equity. While technical solutions are expedient and comfortable, they will not lead to true or continuous improvement. Moreover, the professional development work required is not singular or temporary, but rather embedded work, likely over many years. Also critical is team learning through authentic conversations making space for individuals’ lived experiences. A final step for developing systems-thinking is iteratively defining the metrics each office and school should be using to support this work formatively. As districts engage in such efforts, a focus on proximal, process-based measures will be more immediately helpful, particularly measures for staff, and not necessarily student data.

Metallurgical production associates with such processes as crushing, drying and pneumatic transportation of raw materials, roasting, melting etc., in the process of which hard particles and harmful gaseous components are emitted into atmosphere. At pneumatic transportation of raw materials and sand, their concentration in the atmosphere as a rule exceeds maximum permissible concentrations. Existing facilities of dusty flows cleaning in some cases don’t ensure sanitary norms ГН 2.1.6.3492‒17. Technical solutions  proposed  to  clean  gases  in  a  centrifugal  filter,  a  facility  of  complex  gas  cleaning – cyclo-filter and two-stage  system  of high-concentrated gas-dust flows cleaning. Description of the centrifugal filter, cyclo-filter, two-stage facility of gas cleaning design presented. The facility comprises centrifugal filter and ceramic pulse filter. Industrial tests of the centrifugal filter ЦФ2-6-1 under conditions of a system of pneumatic transportation of sand established, that efficiency of gas-dust flows cleaning of sand particles in a  six-channel  filter  can  reach 98.65%.  Application of  two-stage  system  of  gas  cleaning  comprising  centrifugal  filter  and  ceramic pulse filter ФКИ enables to reach residual hard particles concentration at the exit of such a facility of 5 mg/m3, having initial dust level of 127878 mg/m3. Application of such a complex two-stage cleaning facility allows to reach values of 0.1 of maximum permissible concentrations near the source of emissions.

Paper analyzes the prospects of biofuels second and third generation in the structure of the global energy balance, demonstrates a sharp decline in oil and gas revenues in the Russian budget, describes advantages and disadvantages of biodiesel and bioethanol production. The connection between the growth of Russia’s export potential in terms of hydrocarbon products processing with EU standards implementation has been proved. The problems of the realization of programs on the oxygenate technologies development in the Union State of Russia-Belarus were revealed. The capacity of the market of 3-4 generations fuel with using non-food raw materials and various types of biomass was estimated. Was proved that at a high level of growth in business value and profitability of production there are incentives to organize deep processing in Russia’s hydrocarbon production. It is proved that the oil and gas industry in a creative economy should increase its science intensity and depth of raw materials processing, including ones in related industries.

Abstract The last general review of elastomeric adhesion and adhesives appeared in this journal eight years ago. At that time an attempt was made, at least in a limited way, to develop the subject from its scientific beginnings and to present a fairly broad and connected picture. The objective of the present review will be more modest, an up-dating only. Much of what was said in the earlier review remains pertinent and relevant today, and no attempt will be made to restate such material in detail, although summarization of current status will be attempted. On the theoretical side, emphasis will be on those studies which have modified earlier views, disproved some theories or strongly confirmed others, or unified previously disconnected observations. On the technological side, emphasis will be on new applications for adhesives, new adhesive raw materials and techniques and the increased scope they offer, and new materials to be bonded with the problems and challenges they engender. For some time, growth in adhesives has consistently outstripped the general economy, and elastomeric adhesives have more than held their own as compared with other types. Adhesive production in 1965 was estimated at 3.2 billion solid pounds. Probably at least 10% of this could be considered elastomeric, and, if expressed in dollar value, would be a much greater proportion. A recent estimate of growth rate for adhesives and sealants was 10% per year, approximately twice that of the dry rubber industry. There is every reason to believe that this trend will continue in the foreseeable future as the former psychological resistance to “gluing” as opposed to rivets, bolts, nails, and welds fast disappears. Accelerating economic growth has stimulated technical advances, and the reverse, and this is reflected in a burgeoning literature.
