ABSTRACT This research aims to determine lecturers’ views on online mathematics education and to get suggestions for its improvement. The participants of the study consist of 15 people who work as instructors in a private university. In the study, the quantitative-qualitative mixed pattern model was used. The data were collected from the participants with the help of an online form containing questions about sex, age, pedagogy status, computer usage levels and ten questions related to research. Participants expressed many positive and negative opinions on the online mathematics education process. Responses were analyzed as the opinions of the lecturers with/without pedagogical formation. According to the data obtained, faculty members with pedagogical formation argue that online mathematics education is appropriate in all aspects; however, those without a pedagogical formation are often against online mathematics education. Recommendations developed as a result of the findings are presented at the end of the study.

Abstract This presentation will describe collaborative efforts on the campus of a mid-sized, private university to carry out activities consistent with the Age-Friendly University philosophy. In one program, staff from Career Services and a faculty member from the Department of Health Science coordinated with the President’s College (a continuing education program for adult learners), the Emeriti Association (a group of retired faculty members), and alumni to offer mock interviews for students preparing for graduate school. In another program, steps were taken to coordinate with the office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to address Ageism in the Workplace. The presentation will conclude with advice for identifying allies across campus and fostering support for the AFU principles.

This paper presents a theoretical research on electronic resources provided for mathematics education in primary school including online education, which has become ubiquitous as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Various aspects and forms of application of e-resources in mathematics education are explored in the literature, but the issue of their quality is less studied. E-resources potential to dynamically illustrate the mathematical learning content is defined as their main advantage, but this potential could be realized only in compliance with the principles of multimedia, as well as the requirements for accessibility, ergonomics and visual design. Therefore, in this study the parameters for the quality of e-resources for mathematics education in primary school are derived and specific criteria and requirements for their quality are proposed. Thus, in addition to providing a basis for future research, this paper could serve to primary teachers as a guide for measuring the quality of e-resources that they select or create for online mathematics education.

The new century is very different. On the basis of interdependence, humanity has a unique opportunity for industrial modernization, alongside the dynamics of technology and communication development, information entropy, the volcanic eruption of visual and sound culture. This necessitates modernization in the education system /digital competences, transversal skills and good continuity between different stages of education /, triggered by intense changes in technology and the way of life of modern children. In kindergarten and primary education, the foundations for developmental learning are laid, where knowledge and skills in mathematics education are to be acquired and communicated that are applicable in everyday life.

In this article, we present a proposal for instrumental orchestration that organizes the use of technological environments in online mathematics education, in the synchronous mode for the concepts of eigenvalue and eigenvector of a first linear algebra course with engineering students. We used the instrumental orchestration approach as a theoretical framework to plan and organize the artefacts involved in the environment (didactic configuration) and the ways in which they are implemented (exploitation modes). The activities were designed using interactive virtual didactic scenarios, in a dynamic geometry environment, guided exploration worksheets with video and audio recordings of the work of the students, individually or in pairs. The results obtained are presented and the orchestrations of a pedagogical sequence to introduce the concepts of eigenvalue and eigenvector are briefly discussed. This work allowed us to identify new instrumental orchestrations for online mathematics education.

A Formidable challenge to excellence is posed by two trends in collegiate mathematics education: one is the admirable flow of numerous students into fields requiring mathematics, with a consequent demand for good college teachers; the other is the lamentable tendency for undergraduate mathematics faculties to be understaffed and overworked. The two trends together generate a challenge which the CUPM Panel on College Teacher Preparation now confronts: How can undergraduate faculty members achieve and maintain high quality in mathematics teaching?

Background: During this coronavirus outbreak, online teaching and learning have become highly common in medical education. The majority of students and professors have transitioned to this comparatively modern online learning model. While faculty members found the transition to online education to be overwhelming, they persevered. Aim: study aims to investigate the Kuwait Medical educational sector's capacities and obstacles in transitioning the education system to the online form. Method: This study used a close-ended survey questionnaire constructed on Google Forms and distributed to the participants via e-mail. The study used an online Google form for formulating the questionnaire survey, which was later sent to the participants via e-mail. Results: The results showed that most of the faculty members (53%) were satisfied with online learning. The most prominent difficulty emphasized by the faculty members (35%) was network vulnerability n online teaching. The majority of the faculty members (45%) agreed that transitioning to remote teaching is a big challenge and that there is inequality for different technology uses (56%). Conclusion: Online learning has been increasingly relevant in medical education in recent months. It has its own set of benefits for improving students' knowledge and skills, and it may be used as an instructional tool in medical school.

This study aimed to explain the relationship between self-concept and mathematics procedural knowledge among undergraduate students of mathematics education. This study investigated the affective and cognitive aspect of students in the learning of mathematics. The method in this study surveyed with non-probability sampling technique. The subjects were 133 undergraduate students of mathematics education from public and private university in Palembang, Indonesia. 66 of them were undergraduate students in public university. The rest of them were undergraduate students in a private university. The instruments that were used are questionnaire of self-concept and essay test of mathematics procedural knowledge. The result from the Spearman Rank Correlation showed Sig. = 0.006 < 0.05. From that result, we conclude that there is a significant relationship between undergraduate students’ self-concept and their mathematics procedural knowledge.
