The politics of law in the field of Indonesian piracy associated with the function of banks as mutual fund agents in the capital market in the era of free trade must be able to accommodate the main objectives of regulating banking institutions, namely the stability of the banking institutions as described above. The involvement of banks as mutual fund agents must pay attention to risk management because mutual funds are investment products that have risks and can affect the relationship between the bank and its customers and have a large impact on public trust in the bank. The legal policy must be stated in the product of legislation that regulates banking and capital market investment in this case the involvement of banks in mutual funds. In this paper, the quantitative analysis is implemented on the relationship between strategy deviation of listed firms and institutional investors’ recognition. For research methodology, financial complex networks and clustering techniques are employed to measure the de-gree of recognition by creating links to the common stockholding behaviour of institutional investors. Besides, quarterly panel data from 2006 to 2020 are constructed for an innovative study of the degree of recognition of institutional investors’ strategy deviation of listed firms under different innovation fields, firm properties, and market style heterogeneity and asymmetry. The stability test is conducted by the transformation of the measures and methods, thereby effectively avoiding the “cluster fallacy”. We validate the mechanism by which the differences in strategic choices and propensities of listed firms affect capital market recognition, and enrich the microscopic research perspective and methodology on related issues.

This study examines the importance of idiosyncratic and systematic risks in explaining equity fund returns in Malaysia. The level of market and idiosyncratic risk in a mutual fund depends on what asset class it invests in. Equity type asset classes are exposed to both systematic and idiosyncratic risk but research generally suggest that only systematic risk is relevant in mutual fund selection since idiosyncratic risk can be reduced through fund diversification. This study attempts to expand the insights of the risk-return relationship by providing additional evidence on the direct and indirect effects of investment risk on equity mutual fund returns. Employing partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), we also explore if idiosyncratic risk moderates the relationship between market risk and mutual fund returns. A sample of 150 Malaysian domestic equity mutual funds comprising of large, mid & small-cap equity funds were selected from the Morningstar website.  The results indicate that market risk does not influence mutual funds returns but idiosyncratic risk has a significant and positive effect. Idiosyncratic risk is proxied by fund characteristics comprising of size, age, expenses and fund manager ability. This study shows that fund size, age or expenses are not significant and only the fund alpha which measures fund manager ability is relevant in predicting fund returns. The study also finds that the fund alpha moderates the influence of market risk on returns by changing the nature of the relationship from positive to negative.

The growing enthusiasm for mutual funds among the investment choice is an anxiety in the Nepali capital market. The paper aims to find out the investors’ eagerness towards mutual funds in Nepal. This investigation is descriptive and based on a structured questionnaire survey of 125 (out of 140) respondents from the broker office in Chitwan District. The stratified sampling method was used, based on four strata (Businessperson, university lecturer, university student, institutional and local investor) of the respondents’ socio-demographic, adequate knowledge, and factors determination areas. The paper has three major discoveries. First, Nepali investors were dominated by male gender like as in other countries, and university students were excited in the capital market for investment that most common only in Nepal. Second, investors were investing in mutual funds without sufficient knowledge although most investors were aware of political instability. Lastly, investing in common stock rather than mutual funds, followed by the players who made the mutual fund more effective were the most prioritized factors and awareness to invest in mutual funds was the least factor while investing by an investor. Moreover, the correlation among all variables was positively significant. This paper is valuable to the government bodies, academicians, concern companies, and investors, which help them to know more about mutual funds. This study concludes differently from previous studies that individuals prefer to invest in the capital market rather than a bank deposit, which is probably the new appearance in Nepal.

Mutual fund portfolio managers do not always meet performance expectations, resulting in loss of capital reserves. Out of 3,612 U.S. based open-ended mutual funds, the risk-adjusted performance of 2,890 (80%) failed to meet the S&P 500 performance between the year 2006 to 2016. Grounded in Markowitz's modern portfolio theory, this correlational study examined the relationship between mutual fund class type, portfolio turnover, fund longevity, management turnover, and annual fund risk-adjusted performance. Archival data were collected from 88 U.S. based equity mutual funds companies. The results of the multiple regression analysis indicated the model as a whole was able to significantly predict annual fund risk-adjusted performance for the 5-year period ending 2016, F (4, 83) = 3.581, p = .010, R2 = .147. In the final model, mutual fund class type and portfolio turnover were statistically significant with mutual fund class type (ß= .249, t = 2.302, p = .024) accounting for a higher contribution to the model than portfolio turnover (ß = .238, t = 2.312, p = .023).

Mutual funds are designed to raise investment funds. The objectives of this study are: to determine the performance of mutual funds on the LQ-45 index is higher than the performance of equity funds in the Indonesian capital market and to measure the level of efficiency in the capital market using CAPM modeling and using Net Active Value (NAV) data per year for the 2015 period. -2019. To determine whether a mutual fund is good or bad, it is not measured by how much the return has been generated or by how big or small the risk of fluctuation is, but this is seen from how much the mutual fund performs with its reference index. If the performance of index mutual funds is better or the performance of stock mutual funds is lower overall, the capital market can be said to be efficient. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the LQ-45 index mutual funds is smaller than the performance of the more superior stock mutual funds above. So it can be concluded that the Indonesian capital market is an inefficient Indonesian capital market.
