Statement of the problem. The question is raised about the need to develop methodological approaches to urban planning at the microterritorial level aimed at creating a comfortable and safe environment for life in cities and settlements. Results. The authors propose a methodology development project plan for the area - planning documentation of the town-planning elements of the planning structure (blocks, neighborhoods, residential areas) based on the paradigm developed in RAACS of biosphere compatibility of man-made cities and settlements. The method of evaluating variants of planning projects based on a comparison of four blocks of indicators: environmental safety of residential areas, spatial and territorial resources, structural planning and architectural organization of the territory and provision of urban functions. For each of these blocks, the necessary and sufficient composition of indicators is determined, which are calculated based on the design solutions. The prospects for the development of quantitative evaluation of design solutions using the principles of the biosphere compatibility paradigm at the microterritorial level are shown. Conclusion. The numerical evaluation of the design solutions shows the social content of the territory planning projects and reflects the decisions on the urban environment of the city.

In the late 1990s on the market of high-quality real estate in Russia became popular a luxury apartment building called "club house". However, frequently the proposed design solutions do not meet the requirements for the architectural organization of this class dwelling. The aim of the research is to determine the optimal architectural and planning parameters of "club houses", identified on the basis of the analysis of the project implementations experience. The prerequisite for the appearance of such objects was the decision of the Moscow government to ban the construction of multi-storey houses in the historic center of the capital. To build in the center the usual multi-storey houses for the mass consumer was not correct. The solution of this problem was proposed by developers – an elite low-apartment house, built or renovated on an exclusive project in a prestigious landscaped area for a narrow circle of residents belonging to the same social class and having a high material and property level. The new type of housing immediately interested wealthy citizens.

Despite a very large variety of improvised firearms, repeatability of certain actions of the manufacturers can be observed, reflecting the purpose to which such weapons are produced (e.g. poaching), and the availability of appropriate technologies. The aim of this article is to make an attempt to systematize improvised firearms on the basis of the expert opinions elaborated at the Weapon Research and Ballistics Department of the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Kraków (LK KWP) as well as studies carried out on weapons belonging to the collection of the Department of Forensic Medicine (ZMS) in Kraków. Research material included both primitive devices made by using simple methods and without concern for accuracy or aesthetics, as well as fine-tuned pieces with individual design solutions or copies of factory-made weapons. Improvised firearms can generally be divided into conversions and own designs. The conversion most frequently applies to alarm, gas or pneumatic weapons. It consists in removing factory safety mechanisms or, in the case of pneumatic weapons, in introducing technical modifications, which enable to blast off the cartridge and discharge the projectile by means of gas pressure arising during combustion of the propellant. Own designs may contain certain factory elements, most frequently the barrel, however, in most cases, they are manufactured from scratch. Improvised firearms, even those without the original elements, typically use ammunition with projectiles or, in some cases, the so called blank ammunition converted into live ammunition by adding projectiles.

Abstract This article presents a method developed to design and select tensioning systems which makes use of standard calculations. It describes procedures for selecting and analysing the operation of devices tensioning the belt, which procedures are based on the static characteristics of these devices, and a proposal for introducing a substitute belt elasticity modulus that would make the calculations of the tensioning stroke length account for the value of the initial force tensioning the belt and for its sag between sets of idlers. Static characteristics of tensioning systems have been used to describe their operation and present the advantages and disadvantages of individual design solutions

The interview with Аlexander Vinnikov, Head of the NATO Representation to Ukraine, provides answers to such questions as NATO assistance to Ukraine in the process of reforming the defence and security sector, and availability of programs already being implemented in Ukraine. NATO members help to develop capabilities of Ukraine in logistics, standardisation, cyber defence, communications, and medical rehabilitation. Special attention is drawn to the enhancement of knowledge and skills of employees of the defence and security sector in Ukraine, NATO support in social adaptation of former servicemen, improvement of the defense and education system of Ukraine, construction of communication facilities and expansion of cooperation among scholars, working upon security-related projects. NATO Trust Fund for Medical Rehabilitation provides aid both for private persons and medical establishments. Ukrainian rehabilitation centers are being equipped with modern medical facilities, and servicemen are undergoing rehabilitation both in Ukraine and abroad. The article also offers an account of the possibility of NATO accession as one of the most important matters in the relations of Ukraine and NATO along with key global threats NATO is facing. Among such threats, the Ambassador singles out nuclear proliferation in North Korea, terrorism, a precarious situation in the Middle East and North Africa as well as permanent violation of international state borders by Russia. An ever-increasing number of cyber attacks is also mentioned. No state can counter these challenges on its own. In the modern unified world, such complex global challenges require global actions. Thus, the Ambassador stresses that NATO is working upon continuous adaptation of the Alliance to an ever-demanding security environment. Keywords: NATO, international relations, state borders, servicemen, medical rehabilitation.

The article describes the current trends of designing and constructing multi-storey parking garages for storing electric vehicles. It has already been established that at the present stage of technology development, traditional gas stations are transforming into charging stations, operating on solar batteries. These technologies incentivize searching for new design forms of buildings for storing motor vehicles with solar charging stations in their structure. This applies to both multi-storey and flat parking garages. The paper analyzes the existing foreign experience of designing multi-storey parking garages for storing and charging electric vehicles, and identifies their main functional planning features and technological methods of organization. The main attention is paid to the artistic and aesthetic side of the formation of these objects. Electric vehicles can be very energy efficient and clean, as long as they are charged using renewable electricity. However, they need to overcome some challenges, including short driving range, the high price, and the lack of a charging infrastructure. Today, many design solutions have been developed for storing electric vehicles. The simplest of them is the parking lot design with 1-2 parking spaces for storing and charging of electric cars. This parking lot has the appearance of an open area with markings and with an element of built-in charger. Design solutions of indoor tent parkings lots for storing electric cars are considered to be more practical and convenient in operation. The most frequent of them are with rectilinear construction and with curved awning design at their base. The absence of developed infrastructure is the most important problem in the development of environmentally friendly transport. For this reason the design solution of storage sites and electric charging stations plays an important role and will allow us to experience the potential of electric mobility, which is the future.

Abstract: People with disabilities (PWD) face several challenges accessing medical services. However, the extent to which architectural and transportation barriers impede access to healthcare is unknown. In Peru, despite laws requiring that buildings be accessible for PWD, no report confirms that medical facilities comply with such regulations. Thus, we aim to provide an association between these barriers and access to medical facilities. Data from a Peruvian disability survey were analyzed. Participants were 18 years of age and older people who reported having a physical disability. Accessibility was defined by reported struggles accessing medical facilities (health or rehabilitation centers). Absence of ramps, handrails, elevators, adapted bathrooms, and information counters in medical facilities were reported as architectural barriers. The transportation barriers analyzed included struggles using buses or trains. Poisson regression models with robust variance were used to estimate prevalence ratios (PR) and to control for confounding variables. 20,663 participants were included, their mean age was 66.5 years and 57.5% were females. Architectural and transportation barriers reported were 40% and 61%, respectively. All barriers reported were more prevalent in rural compared to urban areas (p < 0.001). Inadequacy of ramps, handrails, and adapted elevators and bathrooms were associated with limited use of rehabilitation centers (p < 0.001) but not of health centers (p > 0.05). Architectural and transportation barriers represent a hindrance to seeking treatment at rehabilitation centers. Actions to improve this situation are needed.
