Abstract. The aim of the work is to conduct a phytopathological assessment of new domestic potato varieties in the conditions of the Central Region and to identify among them samples that are characterized by a high stable level of resistance to diseases. Methods. The research was carried out at the experimental base “Korenevo” in the Moscow region in 2019–2020. The soil is sod-podzolic sandy loam. The SCC of the growing seasons in 2019 is 1.39 (wet) and in 2020 2.1 (wet). The object of research is 45 varieties of domestic selection from different scientific institutions. All counts were carried out in accordance with standard methods on a natural infectious background. Results. The agrometeological conditions of the growing seasons of 2019 and 2020 contributed to the development of late blight and were satisfactory for the defeat of potato tops by alternariasis. The prevalence of rhizoctoniosis was different – moderate-depressive in 2019 and high in 2020. The lowest incidence over these years was noted only in the Morning variety-1 % (viral diseases). Potato varieties without symptoms of plant damage by rhizoctoniosis – Merchant and Morning, wrinkled mosaic – 19 varieties (41.3 %), twisting of leaves – 32 varieties (69.6 %) were identified. 33 (73.3 %) cultivars showed high resistance (8–9 points) to late blight, and 13 (28.9 %) to alternariasis. The varieties Kupets, Mariinskiy, Prizer, Tret’yakovka, Alyaska, Brusnichka, Kumach, Plamya, Signal, and Utro were distinguished by their complex resistance to these diseases. The autumn tuberous analysis showed that in 21 varieties (46.7 %) tubers were not affected by rhizoctoniosis, 28 (62.2 %) – scab, 11 (24.4 %) – wet rot. On the varieties of Lingonberry, Northern Lights, Signal and Sokur and on the hybrid G-6-14-11 no tubers with defects were found. Scientific novelty. A comprehensive phytopathological assessment of new domestic potato varieties in relation to the conditions of the Moscow region was carried out and samples with plant and tuber resistance to major diseases were identified.

Цель исследований – сравнительная оценка новых сортов картофеля по комплексу хозяйственно ценных признаков (адаптивность, продуктивность, показатели качества, устойчивость к патогенам, лежкость при хранении, пригодность к переработке на различные виды картофелепродуктов) в конкретных почвенно-климатических условиях. Исследования проводили в 2019–2020 годах на экспериментальной базе «Коренево» ФГБНУ «ФИЦ картофеля имени А.Г. Лорха» (Московская область) на дерново-подзолистой супесчаной почве с низким содержанием гумуса (1,7–1,8%), высоким – подвижного фосфора (278–342 мг/кг почвы) и ниже среднего – подвижного калия (64–130 мг/кг почвы). Густота посадки – 44 тыс. клубней на га по схеме 75×30 см. В агроэкологическом испытании были представлены 45 сортов картофеля разных групп спелости, в т. ч. 41 российской селекции нового поколения, а четыре, наиболее распространенные, использовались в качестве стандартов (Удача, Невский, Гала, Ред Скарлетт). Фенологические наблюдения, определение биометрических показателей растений, качества клубней, продуктивность, статистическую обработку данных урожайности проводили по общепринятым методикам. Для большей наглядности и информативности исследуемые сорта были сгруппированы по уровням урожайности (>45; 40–45; 35–40; <35 т/га). Максимально высокая урожайность (>45 т/га) получена в среднем за 2 года по сортам: Дебют, Варяг, Гранд, Барин; с уровнем 40–45 т/га – Кумач, Пламя, Удача, Краса Мещеры, Красавчик, Невский; с уровнем 35–40 т/га – Нальчикский, Гала, Садон, Сальса, Держава, Сударыня, Утро, Сигнал, Дачница; с уровнем 30–35 т/га – Корчма, Терра, Брусничка, Гибрид 6–14–11, Захар, Зумба, Юбиляр, Сердолик, Смак, Третьяковка, Ред Скарлетт, Сиверский, Августин. Урожайность остальных сортов была ниже 30 т/га. Выделены сорта с повышенным содержанием сухого вещества, крахмала, белка, витамина С и наименьшему накоплению редуцирующих сахаров. Проведена оценка потребительских и столовых качеств клубней. Определены кулинарный тип сортов и целевое использование продукции. The aim of the research is a comparative assessment of new potato varieties based on a complex of economically valuable characteristics (adaptability, productivity, quality indicators, resistance to pathogens, suitability for storage and processing of various types of potato products) in a specific soil and climatic conditions. The research was carried out in 2019–2020 at the experimental base Korenevo of Russian Potato Research Centre (Moscow region) on sod-podzolic sandy loam soil with a low content of humus (1.7–1.8%), high – mobile phosphorus (278–342 mg/kg of soil) and below average – mobile potassium (64–130 mg/kg of soil). Planting density – 44 thousand tubers per ha according to the scheme 75×30 cm. In the agroecological trial, 45 potato varieties of different maturity groups were presented, including 41 of the new generation Russian selection, and 4, the most common, were used as standards (Udacha, Nevsky, Gala, Red Scarlett). Phenological observations, determination of biometric indicators of plants, quality of tubers, productivity, statistical processing of yield data were carried out according to generally accepted methods. For greater clarity and informativeness, the studied varieties were grouped by yield levels (>45; 40–45; 35–40; <35 t/ha). The highest yield (>45 t/ha) was obtained on average for 2 years for varieties: Debut, Varyag, Grand, Barin; with a level of 40–45 t/ha – Kumach, Plamya, Udacha, Crasa Meschery, Crasavchik, Nevsky; with a level of 35–40 t/ha – Nalchiksky, Gala, Sadon, Salsa, Derjava, Sudarinya, Utro, Signal, Dachnitsa; with a level of 30–35 t/ha – Corchma, Terra, Brusnichka, Hybrid 6–14–11, Zahar, Zumba, Yubiliar, Serdolik, Smak, Tretyakovka, Red Scarlett, Siversky, Avgustin. The yield of other varieties was below 30 t/ha. Varieties with a high content of dry matter, starch, protein, vitamin C and the lowest accumulation of reducing sugars were identified. The assessment of consumer and table qualities of tubers was carried out. The culinary type of varieties and the intended use of products were determined.

Представлены результаты испытаний комплексной системы защиты картофеля препаратами АО Фирма Август . Цель испытаний оценить эффективность комплексной системы защиты картофеля с применением препаратов АО Фирма Август в условиях Московской области. Исследования проводили в институте картофельного хозяйства ВНИИКХ имени А.Г. Лорха в 2018-2019 годах на картофеле, сорт Колобок. Почва опытного участка в Коренево дерново-подзолистая супесчаная со следующими агрохимическими характеристиками: рНKCl 4,9 Нг 3,6 мг-экв./100г почвы S 2,5 мг-экв/100г почвы V 41,0 высоким содержанием подвижного фосфора 342 мг/кг почвы и ниже среднего обменного калия 64 мг/кг почвы а также с низкой гумусированностью 1,7 гумуса. Погодно-климатические условия сезонов 2018-2019 годов, в целом были благоприятные для выращивания картофеля, в 2019 году наблюдалась вспышка развития фитофтороза на картофеле. В линейке препаратов Фирмы Август имеется весь ассортимент для защиты картофеля в течение всего периода вегетации, начиная от протравливания и заканчивая десикацией и уборкой на хранение. Всхожесть, распространение и развитие болезней, сорную растительность, урожайность картофеля учитывали по методике исследований по защите картофеля от болезней, вредителей, сорняков и иммунитету. Схема защиты картофеля показала высокую эффективность в подавлении развития и распространения заболеваний. Развитие ризоктониоза в опытном варианте составило 12,5, а распространение 3,1, в контрольном варианте развитие ризоктониоза достигло 48,8, а распространение 21,6. Фунгицидные обработки также хорошо сдерживали развитие и распространение фитофтороза и альтернариоза. Развитие фитофтороза составило 3,7, а распространение 2,4, в контрольном варианте распространение фитофтороза достигло отметки 73,4, а развитие 64,9. Гербицидные обработки хорошо справились с двудольными и злаковыми сорняками биологическая эффективность достигла 93. По результатам испытаний системы защиты в условиях Московской области на сорте Колобок была показана высокая биологическая эффективность по заболеваниям, вредителя и сорным растениям на картофеле. Фактическая прибавка урожая картофеля составила 36,4 или 11,8 т/га.The results of tests of the integrated potato protection system with preparations of JSC August Inc. are presented. The purpose of the tests is to study the effect of a comprehensive protection system using the products of JSC Firm August on diseases, weeds, pests and potato yields in the Moscow region. The research was conducted at the Institute of Potato Growing after A. G. Lorch in 2018-2019 on the potatoes, Kolobok cultivar. The soil of the experimental site in Korenevo is sod-podzolic sandy loam with the following agrochemical characteristics: pHkcl 4.9 Ng 3.6 mg-EQ./100g of soil S 2.5 mg-EQ./ 100g of soil V 41.0 high content of mobile phosphorus-342 mg / kg of soil and below the average exchange potassium of 64 mg / kg of soil and also with low humus content-1.7 of humus. Weather and climate conditions of the 2018-2019 seasons were generally favorable for growing potatoes. in 2019, there was an outbreak of late blight on potatoes. The product line of the company August has a full range of products for the protection of potatoes, starting from protectants, ending with desiccation and harvesting for storage. Records of germination, diseases, weeds, potato yield were carried out using the method of research on potato protection from diseases, pests, weeds and immunity. The protection circuit of the potato showed high efficiency for the development and spread of diseases, the development of black scurf in trial variant of 12.5 and a spread of 3.1 in the control variant the development of sheath blight has reached 48.8 per cent, and the spread of 21.6. Fungicidal treatment as well constrained the development and spread of late blight and early blight. The development of late blight was 3.7, and the spread of 2.4, in the control variant, the spread of late blight reached 73.4, and the development of 64.9. Herbicide treatments coped well with dicotyledonous and cereal weeds. the biological efficiency reached 93. According to the results of tests of the protection system in the conditions of the Moscow region on the Kolobok variety, high biological efficiency was shown for diseases, pests and weeds on potatoes. The actual increase in yield on potatoes was 36.4 or 11.8 t/ha.

In the Moscoww region, frosts are quite probable to return until the fi rst decade of June. To protect potatoes from the returning cold weather, it is possible to use a temporary covering material in the “planting – seedling emergence” period. The authors have studied the use of covering materials on early potato varieties of Udacha, Zhukovsky early, Red Scarlet, Snegir’, and Meteor. Studies have been conducted on the test plot of the Vegetable Growing Department of Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in 2017-2019. Non-woven white and black material of the same density of 17 g/m2 was used for covering. No covering was used in the check variant. The cultivation technology was standard,it included tillage (plowing, spring tillage, and cutting ridges before planting), as well as plant care (inter-row cultivation and hilling-up). Planting was carried out with a single-row potato planter. The earliest emergence of seedlings was observed under white covering material with a diff erence of 5-6 days in relation to the check variant. In the variant with a black covering material, the diff erence averaged 3-4 days. Due to covering, planting was carried out earlier than expected and the crop was formed by July 15. The interphase period between potato planting and seddling emergence decreased, while that from seddling emergence to harvesting increased, consequently, the yield increased by 11.6…14.7%. The maximum yield was obtained with the Red Scarlet variety using the white covering material, the minimum – in the check variant without covering. The same trend is typical for other varieties. It has been established that covering with any material has a positive eff ect on the duration of the potato growing season and the yield by increasing the period of tuberization. Covering allows getting early potato varieties 2 weeks earlier in the Moscow region.

Опыты проводили в 2018–2020 годах на экспериментальной базе «Коренево» (Московская область) в условиях дерново-подзолистой супесчаной почвы Центрального региона Нечерноземной зоны России. Цель исследований – изучить реакцию нового среднеспелого сорта картофеля Сигнал селекции ФГБНУ «ФИЦ картофеля имени А.Г. Лорха» на сроки, густоту посадки и приемы внесения минеральных удобрений по комплексу хозяйственно ценных признаков (морфологические и биологические особенности, потребительские и столовые качества клубней, урожайность, показатели качества клубней, устойчивость к болезням, лежкость при хранении). Выбор исследуемых агроприемов обусловлен необходимостью ускорения появления всходов, последующего развития растений и формирования достаточно значимого уровня урожая клубней до наступления неблагоприятных метеорологических условий (жара, засуха), а также обеспечения бесперебойного питания растений в течение всей вегетации, так как на супесчаных почвах во время выпадения осадков происходит вымывание питательных веществ в недоступные для корневой системы растений слои. Клубни высаживали в два срока: ранний (третья декада апреля при температуре почвы не ниже 5–7 °C) и базовый (контроль) – через 7–10 дней после первого срока. Посадку проводили на фоне удобрений, внесенных локально тремя приемами при нарезке гребней и последующих междурядных обработках двумя лентами: 1. Основное N90P90K135(контроль); 2. Дробное №1 (стартовое N60P60K90+ подкормка N30P30K45 через 7–10 дней после всходов); 3. Дробное №2 (стартовое N30P30K45 + подкормка N30P30K45 через 7–10 дней после всходов + подкормка N30P30K45 в фазе бутонизации). Густота посадки: 44, 50 и 56 тыс. клубней/га по схеме 75×30; 75×27 и 75×24 см. Определен наиболее эффективный комплекс агроприемов, включающий раннюю посадку (третья декада апреля при температуре почвы не ниже 5 °C) с густотой 44 тыс. клубней/га на фоне дробно-локального внесения удобрений (№1). В условиях дерново-подзолистой супесчаной почвы Центрального региона Нечерноземной зоны сорт дает прибавку урожая в размере 3,9 т/га, или 10,3%. При этом условный доход составляет 43,0 тыс. р/га. The experiments were carried out in 2018–2020 at the experimental base Korenevo (Moscow region) in the conditions of sod-podzolic sandy loam soil of the Central region of the Non-Chernozem zone of Russia. The aim of the research is to study the reaction of a new medium-ripe potato variety from the selection of Russian Potato Research Centre on the timing, planting density and methods of applying mineral fertilizers according to a complex of economically valuable characteristics (morphological and biological features, consumer and table qualities of tubers, yield, quality indicators of tubers, disease resistance, shelf life). The choice of the studied agricultural practices is due to the need to accelerate the emergence of seedlings, the subsequent development of plants and the formation of a sufficiently significant level of tuber yield before the onset of adverse meteorological conditions (heat, drought), as well as to ensure uninterrupted nutrition of plants throughout the growing season, since on sandy loam soils during precipitation, nutrients are leached into layers inaccessible to the root system of plants. Tubers were planted in two terms: early (3rd decade of April at a soil temperature not lower than 5–7 °C) and basic (control) – 7–10 days after the first term. The planting was carried out against the background of fertilizers applied locally in three methods when cutting the ridges and subsequent row-to-row treatments with two tapes: 1. Basic N90P90K135 (control); 2. Fractional No1 (starting N60P60K90 + top dressing N30P30K45 7–10 days after germination); 3. Fractional No2 (starting N30P30K45+ top dressing N30P30K45 7–10 days after germination + top dressing N30P30K45 in the budding phase). Planting density: 44, 50 and 56 thousand tubers/ha according to the scheme 75×30; 75×27 and 75×24 cm. The most effective agro-complex of techniques was determined, including early planting (3rd decade of April at soil t not lower than 5 °C) with a density of 44 thousand tubers/ha against the background of fractional local fertilization (№1). In the conditions of sod-podzolic sandy loam soil of the Central region of the Non-Chernozem zone, the variety gives an increase in yield of 3.9 t/ha, or 10.3%. At the same time, the conditional income is 43.0 thousand rub/ha.

Leguminous winter cover crops have been utilized in conservation systems to partially meet nitrogen (N) requirements of succeeding summer cash crops, but the potential of summer legumes to reduce N requirements of a winter annual grass, used as a cover crop, has not been extensively examined. This study assessed the N contribution of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) residues to a subsequent rye (Secale cereale L.) cover crop grown in a conservation system on a Dothan sandy loam (fine-loamy, kaolinitic, thermic Plinthic Kandiudults) at Headland, AL USA during the 2003-2005 growing seasons. Treatments were arranged in a split plot design, with main plots of peanut residue retained or removed from the soil surface, and subplots as N application rates (0, 34, 67 and 101 kg ha-1) applied in the fall. Peanut residue had minimal to no effect on rye biomass yields, N content, carbon (C) /N ratio, or N, P, K, Ca and Zn uptake. Additional N increased rye biomass yield, and N, P, K, Ca, and Zn uptakes. Peanut residue does not contribute significant amounts of N to a rye cover crop grown as part of a conservation system, but retaining peanut residue on the soil surface could protect the soil from erosion early in the fall and winter before a rye cover crop grows sufficiently to protect the typically degraded southeastern USA soils.

Abstract From June 17 to 20, 2021, July 22-23, 2021 October 1-2, 2021 in Russia, Moscow Oblast, Bol’shie Vyazemy, the All-Russian conference with international participation “Economic and Phytosanitary Rationale for the Introduction of Feed Plants” was held. The choice of the city of Moscow and the Moscow region is due to its significant contribution to the food security of the country, as well as the distribution of unique fodder crops and conditions for them. In addition, Moscow Region is home to the country’s leading institutions in the field of fodder production and phytosanitary safety. Conference Objective to unite efforts of domestic and foreign scientists in solving urgent issues of economy and photosanitary safety of fodder plants introduction. Over the past few years, positive trends have been observed in the agricultural economy. First of all it is connected with the import substitution program, as well as with the new Doctrine of Food Security of the Russian Federation adopted by the President. Проведена полевая оценка биологической и хозяйственной эффективности гербицида сплошного действия Торнадо 500, ВР и двух схем применения гербицидов из разных химических классов АО Фирма «Август» против наиболее распространенных видов сорной растительности. Исследования проводили в 2017–2019 годах на экспериментальной базе «Коренево» (Люберецкий район Московской области) на участке, предназначенном под посадку картофеля, и непосредственно на посадках сорта Колобок. Густота посадки – 44 тыс. клубней/га (75×30 см). Срок посадки – первая декада мая. Все учеты, определение эффективности, статистическую обработку проводили по общепринятым методикам. Учеты засоренности выполняли подсчетом сорняков на пробных площадках по 0,25 м2 в шахматном порядке в десяти местах. Учеты проводили через месяц, полтора месяца и перед уборкой урожая картофеля. Первая схема состояла из довсходовой обработки Гамбитом, СК, 3,5 л/га и послевсходовой – баковой смесью препаратов Эскудо, ВДГ, 0,025 кг/га, и Лазурит Супер, КНЭ, 0,4 л/га. Вторая схема: дробное внесение Лазурита, СП – в довсходовый период, 0,8 кг/га, и при достижении растениями картофеля высоты 5–10 см – 0,3 кг/га с добавлением Эскудо, ВДГ, 0,025 кг/га. Обе схемы применяли с добавлением адъюванта Аллюр, Ж, 0,2 л/га. При изучении видового состава сорняков выявлено, что наибольшую долю в общем их количестве занимают из малолетних: марь белая, аистник, трехреберник непахучий и из многолетних – осот полевой и пырей ползучий. Биологическая эффективность осенней обработки гербицидом Торнадо 500, ВР составила 92,1–97,3%. Биологическая эффективность первой схемы в среднем за два года достигала 75,6–98,3%, второй – 68,9–93,4%. Применение гербицидов АО Фирма «Август» на среднеспелом сорте Колобок в условиях различного обеспечения влагой вегетационных периодов 2017–2019 годов обеспечило прибавку валовой урожайности на 25,8 и 24,2% соответственно по сравнению с контролем (24,8 т/га). All accounting, efficiency determination, and statistical processing were carried out according to generally accepted methods. The infestation counts were carried out by counting weeds on test sites of 0.25 m2 in a staggered order in ten places. The surveys were carried out after a month, a month and a half, and before the potato harvest. The first scheme consisted of pre-emergence treatment with Gambit, SC, 3,5 l/ha and post-emergence-tank mixture of Escudo, EDG, 0,025 kg/ha and Lazurit Super, KNE, 0,4 l/ha. The second scheme: fractional application of Lazurit, SP – in the pre-emergence period of 0,8 kg/ha and when the potato plants reach a height of 5–10 cm 0,3 kg/ha with the addition of Escudo, EDG, 0,025 kg/ha. Both schemes were used with the addition of the adjuvant Allure, W, 0,2 l/ha. When studying the species composition of weeds, it was revealed that the largest share in their total number is occupied by young ones: white marsh, erodium, scentless false mayweed and from perennial ones-field sedge and creeping wheatgrass. The biological efficiency of the autumn treatment with the herbicide Tornado 500, BP was 92,1–97,3%. The biological efficiency in the average two years of the first scheme was 75,6–98,3%, the second – 68,9–93,4%. The use of herbicides of JSC August company on the medium-ripe variety Kolobok in conditions of various moisture supply of the growing seasons of 2017–2019 provided an increase in the gross yield of 25,8 and 24,2%, respectively, compared to the control (24,8 t/ha).
