Problems of modern religiosity, its origin, causes and real level in Ukrainian society; religious self-identification, which in sociological surveys and polls of different levels was usually identified with the true level of religiosity in society; problems of validity and authenticity of religious self-determination of a person and other related problems were started to be considered by scientists (religious scholars, sociologists, cultural scientists) from the late 80's - early 90's of the XX century. mostly as a response to the increasing trend of religiosity in Ukraine. Already in the first half of the 90-ies there are works in which attempts were made to understand the phenomenon of modern religiosity in Ukrainian society, to identify the reasons for the steadily increasing religiosity, at least in general terms to characterize its peculiarities. Notwithstanding the huge number of extra-scientific, emotionally-complementary, poorly substantiated methodologically and factually, confessionally biased publications of this period, it should be noted that the scientific progress in the study of modern religiosity was related to the studies of the Institute of Religion NAS of Ukraine, other centers that have directly or indirectly studied the functioning of religion and the church in modern society.

At the end of the second Christian millennium, Christians united in the church of different denominations and ceremonies. The most devoted ones are looking for ecumenical paths, "that all be one." However, every person is free in his own way to build ties with the Lord. But, as emphasized by the first Metropolitan Rusich Ilarion in the "Word of Law and Grace," every person and the whole people are responsible before God. This statement is based on the authority of biblical texts. Therefore, Christians must worry not only about their own salvation, but also about the best, most natural and most useful arrangement of the Christian life of their nation.

In the article by Vita Titarenko «Experience and prospects of religious organizations in Ukraine: prisma of independence» on the basis of the analysis of the newest sociological researches the features of the post-Soviet religious society in Ukraine are considered. The formation of a specific model of religiosity of modern Ukrainian society, its new value matrix is noted. The distinctive characteristic is the nonconfessional self-determination of Ukrainians, the development of extra-religious religiosity during complex socio-political events in the country, the formation of such a phenomenon as a civil religion and a civil "ecclesia".

The emergence and spread of various non-pagan religious movements can be called one of the global trends of today. This process is also characteristic of individual religious manifestations in Ukrainian society. On the territory of Ukraine, the revival and activation of non-pagan movements has its own specificity. We highlight some aspects of the phenomenon of revival of the Ukrainian denomination not only in its general confessional expressions, but also from the standpoint of scientific determination and investigation of the problems of self-identification of representatives of different currents of Ukrainian neo-paganism. First of all, we include in the concept of "self-identification" the following points: national self-determination of an individual, confessional self-name, which signifies belonging to a certain religious organization and attributes of self-determination, which has its manifestation in national and religious symbolism, clothing elements and more.

The article contains the analysis of peculiarities of social activity of students at different levels of professional education, aimed at the identification of typical spheres of its manifestation and subjective determinants. The sample contained 138 college and university students aged from 17 to 25 (Saratov Region, Russia). The questionnaire helped to explore forms of social activity and related spheres of life. In order to study subjective characteristics we used: the questionnaire for studying the structure of subjectivity (E. N. Volkova, I. A. Seregina), ’’Level of personal subjectivity development’’ technique (M. A. Shchukina), personality self-determination test (B. Sheldon, modified by E. N. Osin). It has been shown that the most typical spheres of social activity manifestation among the student youth are leisure, virtual, and educational spheres of life. College students’ subjective determination of social activity was not revealed; its predictors among bachelor’s students are level characteristics of subjectivity development ’’mediation–immediacy’’ and personality’s self-determination markers ’’autonomy’’ and ’’self-expression’’, while level characteristics among master’s students are ’’creativity–mediocrity’’, ’’autonomy–dependency’’, ’’integrity–non-integrability’’, and ’’self-development’’. The higher the level of professional education received by students, the less pronounced is their social activity, which is becoming more and more determined by personal subjective characteristics.

The article considers the initial period of the creative path of the Ukrainian poet, writer, publicist, historian Yevhen Malanyuk during his stay in the camps of interned soldiers of the UPR Army on the territory of Poland. Ye. Malanyuk's work during the period of Polish internment, of course, became the basis not only of the artist's authorial style, but also determined the main thematic direction of his creative activity. The artist's journalistic work is analyzed on the pages of journal “Veselka” (Kalish, 1922-1923) and focuses on the genre palette of the author's journalistic work. The main features of the use of genres in the journalism of Yevhen Malanyuk of this period are highlighted, the features of the author's handwriting and methods of communication with the audience are traced. An attempt was made to systematize the artist's periodicals, which was published in the journal “Veselka” by genre specificity and analyzed the application of methods in the selected genre. The study found, that Yevhen Malanyuk used a rather limited number of genres in the materials published on the pages of journal “Veselka”. The study highlighted: article, review, essay as the main genres used by the artist when writing his works on the pages of journal “Veselka”. It was also determined that in his work Yevhen Malanyuk did not adhere to a certain stereotypical perception of the genre as a permanent form of writing and used a combination of different genres through their diffuse nature. The article analyzed that Yevhen Malanyuk in his various genres of journalism raised a large number of nationally affirmative issues, formulated a theoretical platform of Ukrainian culture in the coordinates of the world cultural space. The author drew to witness the past of a nation that for centuries had fought desperately for survival and was ruthlessly Russified. Given the present, we can say that these problems occur in modern society, because the reform of general morality and consciousness is gradual, and with it self-determination develops in view of the views and preferences of man. And the works of Yevhen Malanyuk are a treasure trove of national unity and cultural and ideological determination of Ukrainians in the motives and means of introducing ethnic culture into the life of modern Ukrainians.

This article presents and compares the reflections and conclusions of the prominent Russian sociologists, economists, and political scientists. Having analyzed the transit of Russian sociality, they come to quite disappointing conclusions. Unfortunately, Russia did failed to take its rightful place among the European (Western in a broad sense) states and societies, did not build legal society and institutions, and the established market and private property have significantly deformed, since the authorities and law enforcement agencies of different levels rigidly controlled business for the purpose of share profit, or even seizure and appropriation of the property of others. This indicates not just a crisis, but disintegration and negative transformation of the Russian social system. The author believes that the modern sociality experiences transformation associated with the completion of the culture of modernity and the establishment of futureculture, the structure of which is yet obscure. Such transformation generates sociality that differs from the previous one; however, in many its pioneers and “initiators of discursiveness” continue to largely adhere to the principles of liberalism, although modified, and often unrecognizable. In this regard, the author discusses not only the state of social institutions, but also the ways for overcoming the prevalent situation sought by separate individuals.

Rigorous transformations taken place in Russian society owing to information influence had drastically altered moral behavior patterns of an individual by designing different patterns of social reality. Transformation of reflexive structures of mental programs came into contradiction with normative (traditional, basic) behavior patterns of Russians that can be characterized as non-reflexive, conveying successive values and meanings, as well as mechanisms of development and self-determination of an individual. Hence, the article addresses features of self-determination of an individual in modern society determined by spiritual and mental sources of development. Trans-disciplinary approach is the theoretical and methodological basis of the scientific research. Analysis of mental programs and mental traditional matrixes of Russians, as well as spiritual meanings and values that define the process of self-determination corroborate the effectiveness of the research. Analysis of research papers suggests that self-determination relates to: self-actualization of potential, self-realization, spiritual self-comprehension, destination and integrity achievement, as well as to supreme values and meanings of culture of each civilization.
