This study aims to analyze the hormone profile of FSH, LH and E2 to the eel after exogenous hormone stimulation and blood glucose levels. Six formulated treatment applied with combination of dopamine antagonize 10 mg.mL–1 (A), estradiol (E2) 3 mg.mL–1 + A (EA), metyltestosteron (MT) 3 mg.mL–1 + A (MTA), hCG 2 mg.mL–1 + EA (hEA) and hCG 2 mg.mL–1 + MTA (hMTA), with (F) physiologis 0.9% NaCl to control. Six group eel (200±15g) reared in a concrete tank with a capacity of 3,400 liters and filled with sea water of 35 mg L–1 as much as 2000 liters. Eels injected 1 mL.kg–1 hormone by intramusculary, were feed to apparent satiation daily for 10 weeks. The study used Completely Randomized Design with one treatment factor, namely hormonal factor and its combination. Fish blood that ware directly concentration to FSH, LH and E2, the enhanced significantly high in the blood plasma on treatment hMTA and hEA P<0.05. Glucose concentration in the blood palsma is high enough in a row on a formula hMTA 67.33 mg.dL–1 and significantly different to P<0.05. The result indicates that induction of exogenous hormone (hMTA) improve FSH, LH and E2. FSH and LH profiles show permutation patterns during the development of eel gonad, beginning with the increase of FSH in the early phases of gonadal development. LH profile moves in line with the increase in E2 during gonadal maturation process eels (A. bicolor bicolor), with blood glucose levels in the normal range. AbstrakThis study aims to analyze the hormone profile of FSH, LH and E2 to the eel after exogenous hormone stimulation and blood glucose levels. Tithonia diversifolia is a plant that has the potential to reduce blood glucose levels that is crucial in Diabetes Mellitus therapy. This study aims to determine the active compounds contained in the extract of T. diversifolia leaves decoction, the effect of decoction extract on the reduction of blood glucose, and the most effective decoction extract to reduce blood glucose levels as well. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the research treatment groups, namely: Kn = normal control (normal mice and not given leaves decoction extract), Ka = STZ control (DM mice, which are normal mice induced by 65mg/Kg of STZ), Kp = treatment control (normal mice given leaf decoction extract) , P1 = DM + mice were given young leaf decoction extract, P2 = DM + mice were given a mixture of young leaf and adult leaf decoction extract, P3 = DM + mice were given adult leaf decoction extract. The leaves used for decoction were 1-6 leaves from the shoots. The analysis of T. diversifolia leaves decoction compounds is using the visible spectrophotometers for tannins, phenols and flavonoids and GC-MS for terpenoid analysis. The result found that Tithonia diversifolia leaves decoction extracts contain tannins, flavonoids and phenols, while terpenoids are not detected. The leaves decoction extracts of T. diversifolia influenced the decreases in blood glucose levels of DM mice, especially the decoction extract of adult leaves which reduced blood glucose levels to 71.16%.

The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness of red betel leaf infusion (Piper crocatum) as anti-obesity in mice (Mus musculus). Other parameters of this study to know the relationship between changes in blood glucose levels to obesity in experimental animals. Experimental animals used were 24 male mice. The design of this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments 6 repetitions. There are four treatmens P0 (Control), P1 (6 mice by giving a betel leaf infusion with a concentration of 5%), P2 (6 mice by giving a betel leaf infusion with a concentration of 10%), and P3 (6 mice by giving a betel leaf infusion with a concentration of red 15%). The treatment is carried out once every day for 21 days. Before treatment, initial weight was weighed and blood glucose level examination continued on the 7th day, on the 14th day, and on the 21st day. Data obtained from the results of weighing and checking blood sugar levels were further analyzed using the ANOVA test which statistically showed no significant changes (P> 0.05) of body weight and blood glucose levels in mice (Mus musculus) given infusion red betel leaf (Piper crocatum).

Diabetes melitus drugs are currently quite expensive, so they require a cheaper and more effective substitute for drugs to control glucose levels in people with diabetes melitus. Exploring local potentials using medicinal plants can be an alternative to chemical drugs. One of the medicinal plants that is thought to be used for people with diabetes mellitus is juwet. Juwet leaves are suspected to have hypoglycemic activity, because they contain flavonoid and saponin compounds. Juwet bark also contains chemical compounds, namely flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. This study aims to determine the decrease in blood glucose levels in dextrose-induced mice by giving juwet leaf extract and juwet bark extract (Syzygium cumini L.). The test animals used were 36 male mice (Mus musculus) aged 2-3 months with a weight of 20-30 grams. This type of research was carried out experimentally and the design of this study used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which was divided into 12 treatments and 3 replications. The 12 treatments are juwet leaf extract and juwet bark with the same dose, namely the dose of 0 mg/kg BB, 150 mg/kg BB, 200 mg/kg BB, 250 mg/kg. Data from the research were analyzed statistically using One Way ANOVA and continued with the LSD test. The results showed that administration of juwet leaf extract and juwet bark extract at various doses had a significant effect on decreasing blood glucose levels of mice. The most effective dose to reduce blood glucose levels is juwet bark extract with a dose of 250 mg/kg BB.

A research was conducted to invenstigate antihyperglycemic activity ethanol extract of leaf kembang bulan (Tithonia diversifolia) in mice with alloxan induced diabetes. The experiment used completely randomized design, 6 treatment groups with 5 replicates each. KP mice, P1, P2, P3 and P4 fasted for 16 hours and then injected intraperitoneally alloxan 5.04 mg. On day 4 post induction, KP, P1, P2, P3 and P4 positive diabetes. P1, P2 and P3 were treated 14; 42 and 70 mg/Kg of ethanol extract of kembang bulan while P4 were 0.9 mg/Kg glibenclamide for 12 days. The results showed that all treatment doses did not significantly affect body weight of diabetic mice (P>0.05). P1 obtained with a dose of 14 mg/Kg body weight is able to decrease blood glucose levels (P<0,05). The ethanol extract at a dose of 14 mg/Kg body weight effect on decreasing the number of giant cells of the spleen. It can be concluded ethanol extract of kembang bulan can lower blood glucose levels  and effect  the  microstructure spleen of mice  with alloxan induced diabetes. The transportation process can lead to stress which increases mortality in fish. Efforts to reduce mortality in the process of fish transportation can be conducted by minimizing the metabolic activities of fish during transportation. One of the natural substances that is used for fish transportation is tuba roots. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of different dosages of tuba root extract on the transport of catfish seeds with a closed transport system for 12 hours. This research was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research was conducted in April 2019. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with four different dosage treatments (T) and three replications. The dosages of tuba root extract were: 0 ml.L-1 (T0), 0.05 ml.L-1 (T1), 0.10 ml.L-1 (T2), 0.15 ml.L-1 (T3). The parameters observed were blood glucose levels, water quality, survival of catfish after transportation and maintenance for 7 days. The results showed that T1 (0,05 ml.L-1) was gave the highest survival rate of 91.66±2.88%, with the lowest stress level indicated by blood glucose values 89±30.63. In addition, there was no further effect from the administration of tubal root extracts to protect the life of the fish after transportation and maintenance. Keywords : Tuba root, catfish, transportation
