This study aimed to find out factors influencing personal digital piracy behavior in Viet Nam, and to make recommendations mitigate this situation. Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this study will propose an integrated model that combines psychological, moral, and technological aspects to understand the factors that affect digital piracy in Vietnam. The sample consists of 264 students, graduated students, technical and non-technical staffs in Ho Chi Minh City. The research model was examined by statistical tools such as Cronbach Alpha, EFA, CFA, SEM and ANOVA. The results show that the intention to digital piracy the great influence on behavior, and perceived behavioral control strongly influences intent. On the other hand, perceived behavioral control is influenced by other factors such as technology development and perceived risk. Based on the findings of the study, the authors have made several suggestions to help regulatory agencies and businesses have appropriate strategies to prevent digital piracy in Vietnam. From there, promoting the development of the economy in the digital and information age, and helping Vietnam to successfully transition to a knowledge-based economy.

In the knowledge era, knowledge sharing has been becoming an essential issue to knowledge-based organizations, such as IT businesses. However, knowledge sharing among workers in IT organizations is not efficient in reality. Especially, in a developing country like Vietnam, there is a lack of research in this topic. Therefore, this research tries to identify and to measure the impact of those factors on the knowledge sharing intention of employees in the IT industry. Unlike previous studies, this research integrated factors of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and other factors of the organization environment and ICT to explore their impacts on knowledge sharing intention. Using Convenience sampling method, 257 valid samplings were collected from organizations in IT industry in HCMC. The scale was tested by Cronbach’s Alpha, EFA analysis methods. Based on regression analysis, the factor affecting knowledge sharing intention of employees was sorted by descending order, including: affiliation and innovativeness in an organization, attitude towards knowledge and subjective norms, perceived behavioral control. Besides, the knowledge sharing intention of employees is also indirectly affected by factors: anticipated reciprocal relationship and fairness in organization and support of ICT. The results of the ANOVA analysis show that there is a marked difference in knowledge sharing intention between managers and employees. Based on these results, some suggestions for facilitating knowledge sharing between employees in IT industry are proposed.

The study, based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), investigates the determinants of e-learning acceptance. We create a cross-level variable of the incentive and social influence to explore with the other variable context effect and the interaction effects in the acceptance of e-learning. Data collected from 932 respondents in Taiwan were tested against the research model using the hierarchical linear model approach. This model improved Yu, Liao, Wen’s research to detailed intended the learning environment. The results showed that individual-level variables (performance expectations, effort expectancy, perceived behavioral control), and group-level variables (incentive, social influence) have a positive effect on behavioral intention. The incentive has an effect on behavioral intention through the moderating role of manager influence.

Higher education institutions (HEIs), among other social systems, have an irreplaceable role in combating COVID-19. However, we know little about institutional and individual factors that might facilitate university students’ beliefs and behaviors toward preventive behaviors for COVID-19 within the higher education context. Our study applies an extended theory of planned behavior (TPB) model to investigate the structural relationships among the institutional climate, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and preventive behaviors of university students and to detect the moderating impacts of perceived risk on the structural model. Data were collected from 3693 university students at 18 universities in Beijing, China through an online survey. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and multigroup analysis were performed to examine the empirical model. The results reveal that (1) the institutional climate has a significant, direct effect on preventive behaviors for COVID-19 among university students, (2) the TPB components, namely attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control, partially mediate the relationship between the institutional climate and preventive behaviors for COVID-19, and (3) perceived risk moderates several paths in the model. Theoretical and practical implications are offered, and recommendations for future research are outlined.

This paper examines the significance of the technology incubator in Brazil's transition from an industrial to a knowledge-based economy. The author examines how incubators can contribute to technology development and enterprise creation, stressing their ability to provide a two-way flow of information between higher education institutions and the private sector, breaking down the mutual distrust that has often hindered the successful exploitation of R&D in the past. The author discusses both the learning needs of companies and the ways in which universities need to change to adapt to the demands of the new knowledge society, placing this analysis in the context of how incubators can be organized to function efficiently. In illustration, she provides the working example of the Biominas Incubator in the state of Minas Gerais.

Purpose This paper aims to examine travelers` behavioral intention of traveling in the period of coronavirus by employing the theory of planned behavior. The framework incorporates attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and a very crucial construct, i.e. perceived risk, as per the current critical scenario of COVID-19. Design/methodology/approach Data was collected using a survey instrument on the internet by posting the questionnaire link over social network web pages of online traveling websites. The data was analyzed using structural equations modeling with AMOS 22.0 and SPSS software, and the proposed hypotheses were statistically tested. The sample under consideration constitutes 417 responses. Findings Empirical findings suggest that attitude, perceived behavioral control and perceived risk are significant for predicting behavioral intention while subjective norms do not. And these variables explained about 35 percent of the variance in behavioral intention of traveling in the period of coronavirus. Research limitations/implications This study can benefit travelers, tourism and hospitality industry, governments, aviation industry and other relevant organizations as this paper offers the latest updates and essential information regarding traveler`s intention of traveling in the period of coronavirus. The study mainly focuses on India, so the generalizations of results to other countries are unwanted. Originality/value The primary value of this paper is that it tested the theory of planned behavior by incorporating perceived risk in the context of COVID-19. To the best of authors’ knowledge, in Indian context, there is no study which has tested the TPB by adding perceived risk in explaining the Indian citizens’ behavioral intention of traveling in the period of Coronavirus.

Among investors of cryptocurrencies there are supporters and detractors; this claims for the identification of the behavioral and socio-demographic factors that push to invest (or not) in cryptocurrencies. A survey has been administered to 275 Italian investors. Together with socio-demographic features (gender, income, age, and education), behavioral factors derived from the theory of planned behavior (attitude, subjective norm, and perceived control behavior) and from the financial behavior literature (illegal attitude, herding behavior, perceived risk, perceived benefit, and financial literacy) have been collected and analyzed. While attitude, illegal attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, herding behavior, and perceived risk have a positive impact on investors' intentions. Socio-demographic factors and financial literacy have no influence on the intention to invest in cryptocurrencies. This is the first study that comprehensively investigates the influence of behavioral and socio-demographic factors on the intention of investors to invest in cryptocurrencies.

The tremendous development of technologies over recent decades has offered many e-learning systems to faculty educators to support teaching. The advantage of using such systems in connection with on-site courses is that it increases flexibility in teaching/learning by making resources available online. However, there is little empirical evidence to suggest which factors shape educators’ continuance intention to use such systems. This study builds a model, based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to identify the factors. The model was tested among university educators who use the popular e-learning system, Moodle. The results suggest that the continuance intention is driven by perceived usefulness and access. Perceived ease of use, perceived behavioral control, compatibility, and social influence do not have a significant direct impact on continuance intention, although perceived ease of use and compatibility significantly affect perceived usefulness. Taken together, the core determinants of the continuance intention explained around 70% of the total variance in intention in this study.

Background: With the popularity of mobile Internet and social networks, an increasing number of social media-based health management systems (SocialHMS) have emerged in recent years. These social media-based systems have been widely used in registration, payment, decision-making, chronic diseases management, health information and medical expenses inquiry, etc., and they greatly facilitate the convenience for people to obtain health services. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing sustained health engagement of SocialHMS by combining the theory of planned behavior (TPB) with the big-five theory and the trust theory. Method: We completed an empirical analysis based on the 494 pieces of data collected from Anhui Medical University first affiliated hospital (AMU) in East China through structural equation modeling and SmartPLS (statistical analysis software). Results: Openness to new experience has a significantly positive influence on attitude (path coefficient = 0.671, t = 24.0571, R2 = 0.451), perceived behavioral control (path coefficient = 0.752, t = 32.2893, R2 = 0.565), and perceived risk (path coefficient = 0.651, t = 18.5940, R2 = 0.424), respectively. Attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, and trust have a significantly positive influence on sustained health engagement (path coefficients = 0.206, 0.305, 0.197, 0.183 respectively, t = 3.6684, 4.9158, 4.3414, and 3.3715, respectively). The explained variance of the above factors to the sustained health engagement of SocialHMS is 60.7% (R2 = 0.607). Perceived risk has a significantly negative influence on trust (path coefficient = 0.825, t = 46.9598, R2 = 0.681). Conclusions: Attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, and trust are the determinants that affect sustained health engagement. The users’ personality trait of openness to new experience and perceived risk were also found to be important factors for sustained health engagement. For hospital managers, there is the possibility to take appropriate measures based on users’ personality to further enhance the implementation and utilization of SocialHMS. As for system suppliers, they can provide the optimal design for SocialHMS so as to meet users’ needs.

This study focuses on how emotions of different types affect perceived behavioral control (PBC), which, by referencing to service marketing and organizational behavior theory, is divided into three aspects: perceived participation (PP), perceived risk (PR), and perceived organizational support (POS) here. To explore how different types of emotions affect these three variables respectively, subjects' emotions are controlled through experiment. Results reveal that the type of emotion has significant influence on the three variable values. Positive emotion parallels the highest PP and POS values, while neutral emotion comes with the lowest PR value.

Background: Screening for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) represents a worldwide public health priority. Screening patients to detect colonization is considered an essential pillar of any MRSA control program. Purpose: To (a) assess health care workers’ (HCWs) attitudes, social norms, perceived behavioral control toward MRSA screening, and intention to perform the screening; (b) examine the predictors of HCWs intentions to perform screening; (c) identify HCWs’ perception of barriers to and benefits of screening; and (d) identify HCWs’ information sources about screening. Methods: Data obtained from 870 HCWs using the MRSA Screening Survey (MRSASS) were analyzed. The MRSASS was divided into three parts. Part 1 assessed sociodemographic variables. Part 2 contained the following six sections: (a) attitudes and perceived risk of MRSA screening, (b) perceived social norms of screening, (c) perceived behavioral control factors, (d) intention, (e) barriers to screening, and (f) benefit of screening. Part 3 assessed HCWs’ source of information about MRSA screening. Results: HCWs had positive attitudes toward the intention to screen for MRSA. Many HCWs felt that they had little influence on policy makers to conduct MRSA screening. The most reported barriers for MRSA screening were a lack of isolation facilities and increased workload. Only 5.2% (n = 45) of respondents indicated that they had been given MRSA screening training. Conclusion: Attitude was the only predictor for the intention to screen for MRSA. HCWs believed that the barriers to MRSA screening were inadequate facilities, primarily the lack of isolation facilities, and increased workload.
