The purpose of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of the Distance Education Attitude Scale for Teachers, which was developed to reveal teachers’ attitudes towards distance education during the COVID-19 outbreak. Statistical analyses were performed on 458 of the collected forms. The study group was randomly divided into two and the EFA process was conducted with 205 participants and the CFA process with 253 participants. KMO and Bartlett tests were performed to determine the suitability of the data for EFA. The KMO value was 0.0885 and the Bartlett test was statistically significant (χ2=3141, df=703, p<0.001). EFA results show that the DEASFT structure consists of 21 items and two factors, and these factors are named as “Benefits of Distance Education” and “Limitations of Distance Education”. CFA was applied on the data of 253 different people to the factor structures obtained as a result of AFA Analyses. One item was dropped from the scale because p values (0.178) is bigger than 0.05. According to fit indices (χ²/df < 1.5, CFI=0.953 > 0.9, TLI=0.942 > 0.9, SRMR=0.0735 < 0.8, RMSEA=0.0427 < 0.05), the scale is validated. The final version of scale has two factors and 20 items. Cronbach Alpha and composite reliability coefficients were calculated for reliability. For factor 1 Cronbach α=0.847 and McDonald’s ω=0.836. For factor 2 Cronbach α=0.815 and McDonald’s ω=0.845. The results of the analysis show that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining teachers’ attitudes towards distance education.

The aim of this study is to develop a measurement tool to measure the attitudes of pre-service teachers in science fields towards nanotechnology. For this purpose, a five-point Likert-type scale consisting of 55 items was applied to 373 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields (Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics) at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at a public university in Turkey. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), it was determined that the scale had a 3-factor structure consisting of 24 items and the factors explained 55.854% of the total variance of the attitude variable. Verification of the model was tested by applying confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The data used for CFA were obtained from 770 pre-service teachers who are enrolled in science fields at the grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at two different public universities in Turkey. The results obtained from CFA were in agreement with model obtained by EFA. Cronbach's alpha (Cr-α) reliability of the scale was calculated to be 0.926. Findings from the validity and reliability analyzes show that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure pre-service science fields teachers’ attitudes toward nanotechnology.

This study aimed to adapt the Selfitis Behavior Scale (SBS) to measure university students' selfitis behavior in Turkey. Within the scope of the study, the SBS was translated from English to Turkish. Data were collected in the validity and reliability studies from four study groups, including 343 university students. According to the confirmatory factor analysis findings, the SBS had good fit indices. As is expected, the criterion-related validity study found moderate- and highlevel positive correlations between the SBS subscales and total scores and the Selfie Attitude Scale (SAS) subscales and total scores. The other criterion-related validity study demonstrated that individuals taking a higher number of selfies than the sum of the scale and subscales scored significantly higher than individuals taking a lower number of selfies. The internal consistency coefficient was calculated to be .92 for the SBS total score, .78 for the Environmental Enhancement Subscale (SBS-EE), .68 for the Social Competition Subscale (SBS-SC), .72 for the AttentionSeeking Subscale (SBS-AS), .84 for the Mood Modification Subscale (SBS-MM), .82 for the SelfConfidence Subscale (SBS-S), and .70 for the Subjective Conformity Subscale (SBS-SCon). The test-retest correlation values found by applying the measurement tool once in four weeks were .77 (SBS), .70 (SBS-EE), .60 (SBS-SC), .82 (SBS-AS), .80 (SBS-MM), .61 (SBS-S), and .61 (SBSSCon), respectively. The mentioned findings demonstrated that the SBS was a valid and reliable measurement tool capable of measuring the selfitis behavior of university students in Turkey.

The aim of the current study is to develop a multidimensional scale that will enable us to determine the feelings, thoughts and behaviors associated with COVID-19 and the precautions individuals take against this virus. The scale prepared for this purpose was tested on two different samples consisting of 250 and 285 individuals. The first sample, in which the factor structure was determined, consisted of 250 individuals (%73.2 female, %26.8 male) aged 18-64.The second sample, in which the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed, consisted of 285 individuals (%72.3 female, %27.7 male) aged 18-64. Brief Symptom Inventory, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale and The Brief Resilience Scale were used as co-validity criteria. As a result of the statistical analyses, a 22-item scale was obtained, consisting of three factors: "Feelings and behaviors related to COVID-19", "Thoughts about COVID-19" and "Precautions taken related to COVID-19". The fit indices obtained as a result of the CFA were within the acceptable limits. All validity and reliability analyses showed that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool. Multi-Dimensional COVID-19 Scale could be evaluated as a valid and reliable scale which would be used in studies conducted in clinical psychology and health psychology in Turkey. Keywords COVID-19 Scale, validity, reliability

The aim of this study was to evaluate the attitudes about home care services and to develop a reliable and valid measurement tool. This methodological study was carried out on 290 students studying at a school of health. Mary Albrecht’s nursing model for home health care, Jean Watson’s theory of human caring, and Leslie Jean Neal’s theory of home health nursing practice constituted the theoretical framework of the study. According to the results of the confirmatory factor analysis, obtained fit indices (x2/df = 1.91, root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA] = .057, normed fit index [NFI] = .80, comparative fit index [CFI] = .89, goodness-of-fit index [GFI] = .85) showed that the proposed model is appropriate for the scale. The Attitude Scale for Home Care (ASHC) consists of 3 subdimensions and 29 items. Cronbach’s alpha of the questionnaire was .93. Therefore, ASHC is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring attitudes about home care and can be used in selecting personnel to work in home care services.

Evidence of validity and reliability of the Spanish version of the Children’s Depression Inventory-Short in Peruvian population Abstract: The objective of this study was to examine the validity evidence of the Children’s Depression Inventory-Short (CDI-S; Kovacs, 1992), in Peruvian school children. A total of 1059 children between 7 and 12 years old participated (Mean = 9.73, SD = 1.23). The results revealed the existence of two factors related to strong loads in the exploratory factor analysis, which were corroborated by confirmatory factor analysis with good goodness-of-fit indices (CFI ≥ .97, RMSEA ≤ .04). The reliability of the CDI-S, calculated with the internal consistency method, was good in both factors (ω > .80). We conclude that the CDI-S is a valid and reliable measure in Peruvian children and should be interpreted as a test with two factors (Dysphoria and Negative self-esteem), which is consistent with previous empirical and theoretical studies. Keywords: Validation; reliability; depression; children.

Quantitative research model was used in the study, which aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure the level of anxiety of catching novel coronavirus (Covid-19). A total of 356 athletes participated in the study consisting of two study groups. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to determine the construct validity of the scale. As a result of the EFA, it was seen that ACNCS explained 57.80 of the total variance, the scale items were collected in two factors as individual anxiety and socialization anxiety and that the scale was composed of 16 items. The conformity of the structure determined with EFA to the sample data was tested with CFA and it was determined that the fit indices resulting from EFA confirm the two-factor structure obtained in EFA. In line with the internal consistency analysis and test-retest analysis conducted to test the reliability of ACNCS, it was determined that the scale has a highly reliable and time-stable structure. Within the scope of item analysis, 27% lower-upper group score differences were found to be significant and the total test correlation values of the item varied between .56 and .78. As a result of all these analyses, Anxiety of Catching Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Scale was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool. Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file.

This study describes the development and validation of a brief self-report measure of emotional intelligence based on Salovey and Mayer’s (1990) conceptualization. In stage one, the 33-item Emotional Intelligence Scale (EIS: Schutte et al., 1998 ) was assessed for content validity by a panel of experts. The panel deemed 17 items unsuitable for further analysis. In stage two, a theoretically derived 5-factor solution and a unidimensional model were subjected to confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) in a student-athlete sample (n = 955). Results supported the multidimensional solution. The Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale (BEIS-10) was developed by extracting the two items from each factor with the most salient factor loadings. CFA results yielded good fit indices for the 10-item, 5-factor solution. Finally, stage three provided evidence of test-retest stability for the BEIS-10 over a 2-week period in a sample of 111 student-athletes. The BEIS-10 is offered as a valid and reliable measurement tool that has particular utility in situations where brevity is important.
