Diabetes melitus, Senam PERSADIA 1, lingkar pinggang, rasio HDL-c LDL-c, wanita AbstractBackground: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is the third causes of death in Indonesia. Overweight or waist circumference above normal and low HDL-c levels are risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus. One of the risk factors can be resolve with exercise. First series PERSADIA exercise is specifically designed for the prevention of diabetes. Howefer, the effect of this exercise in reducing waist circumference and increase ratio HDL-c LDL-c had never been proven.Method: The design of this study was a field experiment. The effect of first series PERSADIA exercise on waist circumference and HDL-c LDL-c ratio was analyzed by descriptive statistical test, saphiro wilk-test for normality test, paired t-test / Wilcoxon-test for different paired test.Result: This study involved 12 Women lived in Lidah Wetan Gang V RW 2 Surabaya. From the analysis, there was a decrease in mean waist circumference and significant but slightly (p = 0.032), there was no significant increase in HDL-c levels (p = 0.301), there was a decrease in LDL-c mean but it was not significant (p = 0.755), there was an increase in the mean HDL-c LDL-c ratio but it was not significant (p = 0.303).Conclusion: First series PERSADIA exercise has been able to reduce waist circumference but slightly and not able to increase HDL-c / LDL-c ratio significantly in women according to statistics. Further research is needed by increasing the exercise time and controlling the energy intake of subjects. Keywords: diabetes mellitus, first series PERSADIA exercise, waist circumference, HDL-c LDL-c ratio, women

Abstract The presence of albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is a marker of endothelial dysfunction and also one of the criteria for diagnosing diabetic kidney disease. The present study aimed to identify associations between cardiovascular risk factors and renal albumin excretion in a group of 218 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. HbA1c values, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure were statistically significantly higher in patients with microalbuinuria or macroalbuminuria compared to patients with normoalbuminuria (p <0.01). We identified a statistically significant positive association between uric acid values and albuminuria, respectively 25- (OH)2 vitamin D3 deficiency and microalbuminuria (p <0.01).

Abstract BackgroundMicroalbuminuria is the main characteristic of Diabetic kidney disease (DKD), but it fluctuates greatly under the influence of blood glucose. Our aim was to establish some common clinical variables which could be easily collected to predict the risk of DKD in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods and resultsWe build an artificial intelligence (AI) model to quantitively predict the risk of DKD based on the biomedical parameters from 1239 patients. An information entropy-based feature selection method was applied to screen out the risk factors of DKD. The dataset was divided with 4/5 into the training set and 1/5 into the test set. By using the selected risk factors, 5-fold cross-validation is applied to train the prediction model and it finally got AUC of 0.72 and 0.71 in the training set and test set respectively. In addition, we provide a method of calculating risk factors’ contribution for individuals to provide personalized guidance for treatment. We set up web-based application available on http://www.cuilab.cn/dkd for self-check and early warning. ConclusionsWe establish a feasible prediction model for DKD and suggest the degree of risk contribution of each indicator for each individual, which has certain clinical significance for early intervention and prevention.

Background and Objective: Nowadays, diabetes is one of the main causes of blindness in the world. Identification and differentiation of risk factors for diabetic retinopathy depending on the type of diabetes gives us the opportunity to fight and prevent this complication. Aim of the research: To assess differences in the risk factors for diabetic retinopathy in type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Warmia and Mazury Region, Poland. Materials and Methods: Risk factors for diabetic retinopathy (DR) were assessed on the basis of an original questionnaire, which included: personal data, clinical history of diabetes and eye disease. Elements of clinical examination: blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference. Indicators of diabetes metabolic control: mean glycemia, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), total cholesterol and triglycerides, creatinine, glomerular filtration rate (GFR), albumin–creatinine ratio in urine. Results: The study group included 315 (26%) patients with DM1 and 894 (74%) patients with DM2. Risk factors were estimated on the basis of logistic regression and verified with Student’s t-test. Statistically significant dependencies were found in both groups between the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy and diabetes duration, HbA1c, triglyceride concentrations, indicators of kidney function and cigarette smoking status. In the DM2 group, the development of DR was significantly influenced by the implemented models of diabetic treatment. Conclusions: In the whole study group, the risk of DR was associated with the duration of diabetes, HbA1c, triglyceride concentrations and smoking. In DM1 patients, the risk of DR was associated with diabetic kidney disease in the G1A1/A2 stage of chronic kidney disease, and in DM2 patients with the G2 stage of chronic kidney disease. An important risk factor for DR in DM2 patients was associated with late introduction of insulin therapy.
