Vocabulary is a linguistics ellement of language skills. The purpose of this research is to describe the role of BBC’s Video in Instagram for improving students’ mastery on vocabulary. This research is a class room action research based on the theory of Kemmis and McTaggart (1988). The researcher used three times of classroom action cycle to achieve the goal. The population of this research is students at SMP Negeri 3 Medan and the sample is students at grade seven-two. The data of this classroom action research is score from each cycle. The result of this research shows us that BBC’s Video in instagram as a media of teaching English is able to improve students’ mastery on vocabulary. It can be seen in the first cycle their average score is 60.1, in the second cycle is 72.3 and the last cycle is 85.1. This result shows us that video in instagram is a good instrument to improve the students’ mastery in vocabulary. It is suggested to other English teacher to make this media as an alternative media as far as the teaching method is supported to use.

The aim of this study is to investigate in detail the use of song in teaching English for Junior High School student. This study is action researches conducted at Dharma Karya UT Junior High School class VII with participant number are 25 students. Data obtained from the result of test in each cycle. The findings showed that the learning process using song makes the students become more active in their interaction, it is showed by their participation level during the teaching is increased. Another finding also revealed that there is a significant improvement in the student’s English language skills using song from preliminary to cycle II stage in the research process. The average score of students at the preliminary stage is only 60 then it increased to 68 in the first cycle and increased significantly in cycle II with the amount of 80. It can be concluded that action research is done by using song in teaching English for Junior High School significantly helps the students in increasing their English language skills. This study recommends the continuation of using various teaching media and tools for Junior High School student in order to improve their English language skills.

Teaching English is not a very easy job and becomes a challenging task for the Junior High School teacher in Banjarnegara regency that is located in a mountainous area and the majority of the people love to speak their mother tongue in their daily life. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the challenges faced by an English teacher in the teaching as well as what the solution/recommendation they made. This study employed the qualitative methods in which questionnaires and interview guide utilized and hundred and twenty-five (N=125) teachers were purposely and conveniently sampled from Junior High School English teachers in Banjarnegara regency. The results revealed that the challenges faced in teaching English are divided into four parts. The first challenges were from the teachers. These challenges are less of teaching material, teaching design, classroom management, ICT skill, many teaching administration, job loaded, and memory decrease. The second was from the students. Those are lack of vocabulary, loss of motivation, and juvenile delinquencies. The third was from schools. Schools had limited facilities, which can be utilized by teachers and students in teaching activities such as; limited dictionary, projector, and language laboratory. The fourth was from the parents. Many parents from the village have low education and future vision so it influenced their children's education. The study also gives three recommendations for succeeding in teaching English such as; (1) teachers should make teaching contract at the beginning of the semester, (2) principals send teachers joining to MGMP meeting and Continuous Professional Development activity, (3) schools give motivation to students and parents periodically.

The objective of this research was to know the improvement of students’ ability in writing descriptive text by using picture series media. The subject of the research was students on class H at VII (seven) Junior High School 19 Bengkulu City, there were 23 students. The form of this research was a classroom action research. The data of this research were gathered from the descriptive writing test and analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The result showed that there are an improvement of students’ ability in writing descriptive text by using picture series media on class H at VII (seven) Junior High School 19 Bengkulu City. It can be seen from the writing result on cycle I that students’ average score 70 (enough) and increased with 76,04 (good) after repaired on cycle II, then increased again after repaired on cycle III with 86,17 (very good).

Education is the essence of the nation’s progress. But in reality, it is rhetoric whereas it has been more than 65 years of independence. The low professionalism of teachers in Indonesia can be seen from the eligibility of teaching teachers. One of effort to improve the professionalism of teachers, conducted through the supervision of school academic supervisors in supervision of teacher’s performance. Thus the role of academic supervision conducted by the school supervisor is very influential in order to improve the performance of teachers in teaching. This research was conducted in Junior High School (SMPN) in Tungkal Jaya districts. This was a classroom action research which the approach used in this research was a quantitative descriptive approach. The implementation of academic supervision of school supervisors influenced the performance of teachers’ science subject at SMPN 2 Tungkal Jaya, SMPN 3 Tungkal Jaya, SMPN 4 Tungkal Jaya, SMPN 5 Tungkal Jaya, and SMPN 7 Tungkal Jaya. This study showed that the performance of the teachers’ science subject increased from the category of less good value (≤ 50) to very good (≥ 86).

According to the Curriculum Based Competency, the objective of learning English is to master the communication competence, it means that the students should be able to express their idea and their feeling in communication activities even in oral or in written.  So, English teacher should be able to assist their students to become effective participants in real life communication. We need to help them in any ways that motivate them to use the language as many times as possible. The main goal of teaching English to the secondary school  is to developed their language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing. Based on experience as English teacher at secondary school (SMP Negeri 1 Bangli), most students still poor using the language in communication even in oral or in written. This problem appear because of some factors like; lack of vocabulary, poor in grammar, lack of practicing use the language, and boring because the teacher’s strategy in teaching is monotone, and never use media. To solve those problems, the writer try to do the Classroom Action Research. The research focus on developing speaking skill using media Snake and Ledger game.

This research is intended to describe of the role of the textbook in English class. The subject of the study was English teachers in state junior high school in Banjarmasin. Data were collected through interviews, class observation, and document analysis. The investigation found that the teachers considered the textbook both central and external books helped them in preparing the lesson. They used several strategies to adapt the textbook by adding the material and modifying the task in the book. There were three main problems faced by English teachers at state junior high school 23 Banjarmasin, limited supported kits from the book, lacks materials inside the textbook, and high language level for students used in the book. However, this research is essential to conduct to present the real situation that happened in the English classroom.

Polite Javanese language skills of students of class IXF Junior High School 1 Lasem Semester 1 Academic Year 2018/2918 are not optimal. Students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning polite Javanese language are still lacking. It is proven from the result of polite Javanese language skills that have not reached the expected target that was 74, 62. It is also proven by the failure to achieve the average mark of polite Javanese language skills of class IXF Junior High School 1 Lasem based on Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) set by the school that was 80. For the reason, the researcher tried to apply Palu model (Pacelathon Bocah Wolu) in learning activities in an effort to improve polite Javanese language skills. The data sources in this Classroom Action Research are students of class IXF Junior High School 1 Lasem totaling 32 students. This Classroom Action Research aims to find out whether Palu model can improve polite Javanese language skills of students of class IXF Junior High School 1 Lasem or not. This research includes two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data in this research were obtained trough test and non-test instruments. The test instrument is a polite Javanese language skills test. While the non-test instruments include guidelines for observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of the research showed that polite Javanese language skills of class IXF Junior High School 1 Lasem had increased. The result is proven from the average of polite Javanese language skill mark at 79,75 in the first cycle, increasing to 86,18 in the second cycle. With an increase of 6,43. Meanwhile, the completeness of students is 50% in the first cycle, increasing 50% in the second cycle, with a percentage of completeness of 100%. This increase was followed by the changes of students’ attitude who were increasingly enthusiastic, active, brave, and expressive in polite Javanese language skills learning taught by Palu model.

The aim of the study was to investigate how the teaching method of group work could improve students’ achievement in learning one of the mathematics lessons, the circle. A study about the use of group work method is expected to solve the problem faced by the teacher by a systematic thinking framework. Therefore the researcher collaborated with his peer to conduct the research. This classroom action research study was conducted at Junior High School (SMPN) 4 Loa Janan. The participants of the research were all the students from the eighth grade. The procedures of the study were conducting pre-test, lesson planning for action research, implementing the lesson with proposed method, observing the lesson, reflection, and evaluation. The study was conducted in three cycles. The results showed that there was an improvement in students’ mathematics academic achievement. This was proven by the students’ test results from one cycle to another that the student scored significantly above 80% above minimum criteria

<p>The observations showed that there were five problems faced by the students in reading comprehension class : (1) students were lazy to read English texts; (2) students fount difficulty to understand the contents of reading text because the have limited vocabulary; (3) students did not  have enough time because they have busy to consult the dictionary for any difficult words they found on the reading text; (4) the students were extremely passive during the class; and (5) the teaching technique used by the teacher was not interesting to the students.</p><p>To solve the problems, a classroom action research of applying the summarizing strategy was conducted. The results showed that the application of the summarizing strategy to reading comprehension classes successfully improve students’ performance on reading comprehension tests. This success was confirmed by increasing average students score during cycle 1 to cycle 2. The average score during cycle 1 was 64.13, the average score during cycle 2 was 69.88, and that during cycle 3 was 72.38. Furthermore, students’ perceptions of the application of summarizing strategy to reading classes were also improving. These were supported by average percentages of positive perception of 40.5 in cycle 1, 73.9 in cycle 2, 84.6 in cycle 3.</p><p>Thus, it was concluded that the summarizing strategy id effective to improve students’ reading comprehension. In addition, the strategy also enhances students’ perceptions of the application of the strategy to reading classes.</p>

This research deals with teachers’ techniques in teaching English vocabulary at the first year students of MTs Assholihiyah Lopan Ketak East Lombok. It is expected to serve as an attempt to contribute to more teachers’ techniques in teaching vocabulary at junior high school in especially in Assholihiyah Lopan Ketas East Lombok as well as the reference to the teachers who teach English vocabulary. It applied a qualitative approach. The subject of the research was one of English teacher. The data was collected through questionnaire and interview. The data was analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion. The result was the teacher of class 1 (1 and 2) used the identifying picture and categorizing object technique.  And the teacher in class 1 (3) used categorizing objects technique to teach English vocabulary. Those techniques found from the textbook, so the teacher develops this technique by herself. In presenting English especially vocabulary, the teacher should be creative in choosing the material and able to stimulate the students interest.
