The textbook is aimed at developing professional competencies in preparing preschool children to learn Russian at school.it reveals the current content of preparing preschoolers to learn reading and writing in primary school, contains a method for teaching them sound word analysis, reading syllables and words in accordance with a scientifically based sound analytical and synthetic method, a technique for teaching children to print letters and syllables, and describes opportunities for cognitive development of preschool children in the process of speech work. The methodological material is accompanied by examples from the speech of preschool children and their training practices. A test is offered for professional self-control over the assimilation of the corresponding methodology in General. The appendices contain methodological illustrative and reference material. Meets the requirements of Federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation. For undergraduate students in the field of "Pedagogical education", it can also be used by undergraduates in the study of a course on the cognitive development of preschool children and in the process of professional development and retraining of employees of preschool educational institutions and primary school teachers.

Preschool children, primary school children, and unschooled adults were tested on the part-probe task designed by Palmer. Relatively high scores were obtained with all groups on parts which had a ‘good’ relationship with the figure. However, the ability to find more deeply embedded segments was not present in the preschool children or in the unschooled adults. This indicates that the processes of postperceptual analysis necessary to find a part in a figure are neither built-in nor the consequence of mere cognitive growth, but depend on the instruction or experience usually provided in school. Such processes should not be confused with those that lead to form perception. Inspection of the part–figure pairs and of the corresponding detection scores suggests the importance of several stimulus properties.

This article deals with the issue of teaching a foreign language to children with disabilities using information computer technologies. The principles of creation of interactive programs and methods of their use are analyzed. Identified and justified the effectiveness of such programs for preschool children and primary school students. Based on the study of several popular online training programs, the degree of necessity and variability of their use for certain categories of children with disabilities are determined.

Background: Malnutrition and infectious diseases both occur in the same unfortunate children and together they play a major role in causing the high morbidity and mortality in them.In developing countries, mortality from ARTI is 30?70 times higher than in developed countries and it has been estimated that up to 1/3rd of all deaths in children less than 5 years are attributed to ARTI. Aims & Objectives: This study aimed to find the attack rate of Acute Respiratory Tract infection and the socio?demographic variables of pre?school children suffering from Acute Respiratory Tract infections. Method: A Comparative Longitudinal study was carried out among preschool children (3?5 years) who were selected from Private pre?primary school of urban area (155)& Anganwadis (157) of urban slum area of karad town and followed for the period of one year. Mother/guardian/teacher was interviewed by using pre?tested proforma during this period. Results & Interpretation: out of all 97.4% of private pre?primary school children had 1.8 episodes/child/year of ARTI compared to Anganwadi children where all of them had 2.5 episodes/child/year of ARTI. Conclusion: Maximum number of children from private pre?primary schools from urban area also suffered with at least one episode of Acute Respiratory Tract Infection compared to Anganwadi children from urban slum areas. AbstractWhile there has been much concern over television’s influence on children, few studies have investigated the way young children and adults differ in their ability to distinguish the behaviour of “good” and “bad” television characters. The present study investigated the extent to which preschool children, primary school students, and adults differed in their interpretations of the actions of a stereotypically good and a stereotypically bad character. An edited television drama programme was examined for comprehension and for the extent to which children and adults differed in their belief that the characters in the programme were real. Preschool children were found to evaluate characters similarly to adults, although significant differences were evident in their comprehension of the programme and their judgement of the reality of the television content.

This study compared primary school preparedness of urban and rural preschool children in Kisumu county, Kenya. Children were assessed on their level of learning and development in the following domains: pre-academic skills (pre-literacy and pre-mathematics, executive function, and socioemotional cognition. The sample consisted of 390 preschool children who had completed their curriculum and were transitioning to Grade One. Children were assessed using an adapted and validated form of the Measurement of Development and Early Learning (MODEL) global item set. We hypothesized that urban children would score higher on all domains of learning and development than rural children. Results showed that indeed urban children were more prepared for primary school than were rural children in all the domains of learning examined in this study. In order to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 on equitable quality education that ensures life-long learning for all, county and national government should invest in early childhood development and education (ECDE) in both rural and urban so that all boys and girls can be ready for primary education and improve future outcomes for all children.

Abstract This article focuses on children who cannot speak the language of the majority when they enter the school system. It recommends that the term child speakers of other languages should be adopted in Slovakia. Various approaches and types of support used in other European countries (Germany, Denmark, Czechia) are presented. These could be adopted nationally to integrate these children in school. The legal situation and current situation in preschools and primary school is also explored. The article outlines potential forms of support for preschool children and their families that require little in the way of additional funding and human resources.

Introduction. Phonetic and phonological system of the healthy members of one linguistic community is fully formed around 8 years of age. The auditory and articulatory habits are established with age and tend to be more difficult to be upgraded and completed later. Material and Methods. The research was done as a cross-sectional study, conducted at the preschool institution ?Radosno detinjstvo? and primary school ?Branko Radicevic? in Novi Sad. It included 66 children of both genders, aged 6 to 8. The quality of articulation was determined according to the Global Articulation Test by working with each child individually. Results. In each individual vowel, plosive, nasal, lateral and fricative, the quality of articulation was statistically significantly better in the first graders compared to the preschool children (p<0.01). In each affricate, except for the sound /c/, the quality of articulation was statistically significantly better in the first graders than in the preschool children (p<0.01). The quality of articulation of all speech sounds was statistically significantly better in the first graders than in the preschool children (p<0.01). Discussion and Conclusion. The most common disorder of articulation is distortion, while only substitution and substitution associated with distortion are less common. Omission does not occur in children from 6 to 8 years of age. Girls have slightly better quality of articulation. The articulatory disorders are more common in preschool children than in children who are in the first grade of primary school. The most commonly mispronounced sounds belong to the group of affricates and fricatives.
