<p>This study aims to explore the professional competence of elementary school teachers certified in Sumedang district. The study was conducted in the form of a survey in urban areas Sumedang district with a population of 592 elementary school teachers and 60 teachers certified as research samples. Total Respondents are 180 people consisting of 60 persons certified elementary school teachers, 60 peers who have not been certified, and 60 principals who captured data through questionnaires. Data were processed and analyzed with the rating scale measurement techniques and SPSS 16, and obtained the following results: 1) rating scale analysis results indicate that the professional competence of certified teachers in the Sumedang district, four aspects are in the 'ENOUGH' category and one aspect is in the 'LESS' category, and 2) the results of the attitude scale analysis using SPSS 16 shows that the professional competence of certified teachers in the Sumedang district are in 'GOOD' category, but this condition is far from the 'PROFESSIONAL' category.</p><p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri kompetensi profesional guru-guru SD tersertifikasi di kabupaten Sumedang. Penelitian dilakukan dalam bentuk survei dengan populasi sebanyak 592 guru SD tersertifikasi dan 60 guru sebagai sampel penelitian yang berada pada kawasan perkotaan kabupaten Sumedang. Responden berjumlah 180 orang yang terdiri atas 60 orang guru SD tersertifikasi, 60 orang teman sejawat yang belum tersertifikasi, dan 60 orang kepala sekolah yang diambil datanya melalui angket. Data diolah dan dianalisis dengan teknik pengukuran rating scale dan program SPSS 16, dan didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut: 1) hasil analisis rating scale menunjukan bahwa kompetensi profesional guru tersertifikasi di kabupaten Sumedang, empat aspek berada pada kategori ‘CUKUP’ dan satu aspek berada pada kategori ‘KURANG’, dan 2) hasil analisis skala sikap dengan menggunakan program SPSS 16 menunjukan bahwa pada umumnya guru tersertifikasi di kabupaten Sumedang tergolong pada kategori ‘BAIK’, namun kondisi ini masih jauh dari kategori ‘PROFESIONAL’.</p>

The specific purpose of this study is to find out professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing curriculum 2013 in Bengkulu city. This study used analytical descriptive. This study aimed at describing the professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing curriculum 2013. The subject of this study was 100 teachers of elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The object of this study was related to professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing Curriculum 2013. The data collecting was conducted by using questionnaire and document. Questionnaire was used to obtain the data about professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing Curriculum 2013. To find out and to proof that questionnaire is valid was conducted by expert. Document was used to find out the number of elementary school teacher in Bengkulu City. After the data was collected it was verified, and was processed by using percentage statistic method. The data processing was then analyzed and concluded. In general this study concluded that elementary school teachers in Bengkulu city understands professional competence in implementing curriculum 2013.

This study aims to find out the influence of supervision of principals and teacher professional allowances on the professional competence of teachers in Simpang District Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan both partially and simultaneously. The population in this study is 38 elementary school teachers in the Simpang sub-district who have received teacher professional benefits. This research uses quantitative research, with a type of Non-Probability sampling research, the technique used is the saturated Sampling technique. Data collection techniques using closed questionnaires. Data analysis with t-test and F test showed that: Supervision of the principal has an influence on the professional competence of teachers in Simpang sub-district by 20.90%; Teacher professional allowance has an influence on the professional competence of teachers in Simpang subdistrict by 20.50%, and supervision of principals and teacher professional allowances have a simultaneous influence of 45.90% on the professional competence of elementary school teachers in Simpang District Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan.

This research is motivated by a conventional learning orientation where teacher-centered learning must be transformed into student-centered learning. The purpose of this study was to improve the professional competence of elementary school teachers through lesson study. This study uses a class action research design that has stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted at the target schools in the city of Dumai. The research subjects were 10 V-grade teachers taken from each of the target schools. The research instrument used observation sheets and interview sheets. The results of this study indicate an increase in the professional competence of elementary school teachers through lesson study with the percentage of the first cycle of 64% with enough categories to 82% with good categories. The suggestion put forward is for the next researcher to combine lesson study with academic supervision or based on local potential, also improve pedagogical, personality, and social competence.

In Islamic elementary school, Arabic is a compulsory subject that must be taught. In fact, the majority of elementary school teachers are not equipped with enough competence to teach it. This paper aims to describe efforts to improve the competence of elementary school teachers in teaching Arabic. The research method is descriptive qualitative through teacher competency mapping, needs analysis and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The result of the research shows that Teacher Proficiency Development (TPD) in the form of workshop and teaching practice can be one of alternative in improving the pedagogic and professional competence of elementary school teacher in teaches Arabic. In order for effective TPD program, massive dissemination, advisory and sustainable programming is required involving relevant universities, government, and schools.
