Microsoft Excel: Preparing Data, Analysing Data and Designing a Business Model A Practical Guidewill be a useful manual for readers who intend to master various functionalities offered in a spreadsheet application. The module serves as a teaching material, mainly for accounting program students, lecturers, financial analysts, accountants, and other interested parties. This textbook that comprises of eight chapters employs the Microsoft Excel, one of the most commonly used and popular spreadsheet applications, to demonstrate the applications of essential functionalities available in the spreadsheet applications. This application becomes one of the primary analytical tools in todays business. Excel functions, if used wisely and effectively, are capable of transforming business data into meaningful and valuable information.

Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat berpengaruh besar pada aktifitas kegiatan operasional perusahaan adalah teknologi sistem informasi. Salah satunya adalah kegiatan proses pencarian kerja. PT. WIRA KARYA INDONESIA adalah suatu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang barang dan jasa yang bersifat penyalur tenaga kerja outsorcing. Sistem yang berjalan saat ini masih bersifat manual, dalam mencari informasi lowongan kerja biasanya pelamar mendatangi perusahaan untuk melihat papan pengumuman. Proses penyimpanan data calon pelamar hingga calon perusahaan yang ingin bekerja sama masih menggunakan kertas-kertas atau software microsoft word, sedangkan dalam pembuatan laporan menggunakan software microsoft excel. Hal ini menyebabkan sering terjadinya kehilangan proses data lamaran dan membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama, sehingga data yang dihasilkan tidak efektif dan efisien. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengumpulan data melalui : observasi, wawancara, dan literatur review (studi pustaka). Untuk metode analisis menggunakan metode analisis Business Model Canvas (BMC) dan metode PIECES. Sistem ini dibuat dengan menggunakan perancangan model UML (Unified Modelling Language), menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, menggunakan framework CI, Mysql untuk pembuatan database, Sublime Text 3 untuk membuat desain atau tampilan, Xampp sebagai server atau penghubung bahasa pemrograman dan metode pengujian yang digunakan yaitu metode Black Box Testing. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem informasi platform pencarian kerja yang membantu PT. WIRA KARYA INDONESIA, calon pelamar dan perusahaan yang bekerja sama dalam mencari dan memberikan informasi perihal ketenagakerjaan.                                                                            Kata Kunci: Platform, outsourcing, BMC.

Subject. The article considers the quality control over cash flow statements. Nowadays, audit procedures apply rather simple analytical tools to assess the reliability of this type of accounting reports. There is, therefore, an objective need to develop them. Objectives. The aim is to assess the quality of cash flow statements for the 5-year period from 2014 till 2018, and prove the interrelation between the scale of manipulation in accounting statements and the economic situation in the country and in the sector. Methods. The study employs theoretical and practical works of foreign and Russian scientists on accounting misstatements. Results. We use a large amount of information to develop and test a methodology for checking the quality of accounting reports, including the assessment of credibility of a statement as a whole, as well as its pats, i.e. cash flows from operations, investments, and financial transactions. Conclusions. It is recommended to use the offered methodology by audit companies and financial analysts to find out companies involved in accounting manipulation.

Computer business model of hardwood production gives the user an opportunity to examine different ways and provide the capability of executing scenarios using alternative activities and process flow paths. This paper illustrates the design of business model based on which the simulation will be built. It will be able to simulate the effect of variables in each process and provide the output in terms of cost, quality and quantity of timber products produced at the end of primary hardwood processing. The simulation will act as a powerful decision making tool and be user friendly. It will be built with the combination of Visual Basic.NET and Microsoft Excel. It will provide cost and revenue estimates, identifies process issues and will have the capability to rapidly react to changing markets. The simulation will also be able to study the viability of capturing more product value and reducing production cost.

This research is motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts possessed by prospective elementary school teacher students. This study aims to see the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical understanding abilities that use Microsoft Excel-based VBA teaching materials with those using conventional learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. This study's population were all second-semester elementary school teacher candidates in one private university in West Java, Indonesia. The sample in this study was 70 prospective 2nd-grade elementary school teacher candidates. The instrument used in this study was a test of understanding mathematical concepts. The results showed: 1) learning using VBA Microsoft Excel as a teaching material was able to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts; 2) learning using Microsoft Excel VBA as teaching material is better than conventional learning; and 3) students can be enthusiastic, active and motivated in learning mathematics with VBA Microsoft Excel.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the details of new age digital business using a freemium business model. Design/methodology/approach Study of the various prospects of various digital business firms like revenues, customer base, share price, ranks. Uses of freemium business model to hold on to existing customers and attract new customers. Findings Innovative service or product offerings and growth strategy is the base of this business model. So businesses must assess innovation strategy before deciding whether to opt the freemium business model or not. Retaining the existing user and constant addition of new users are the founding stone of the freemium business model. So, the value offerings have to be well perceived by the customer so that switching costs will be increased for them and the customer will remain loyal. Originality/value Analyzing consumer behavior with recent analytical tools and techniques such as web analytics, bigdata analytics are required in order to get deeper market knowledge. It is crucial to get the knowledge of recent trends of markets, the perception of customer and customer’s journey mapping in order to run a business with freemium model.

The background of this research is based on diversity of Indonesia in terms of social, cultural, religious, language and ethnic groups. The specific problem in this research lies on the diversity of students in one public elementary school in Cimahi City, situated in the area of the Indonesian Army. Therefore, this research seeks to investigate the difference in improvement of students’ cross cultural skills between learning using VBA (Visual Basic of Application)-based Monopoly game teaching materials in Microsoft Excel and conventional learning. This research aims at improving students’ cross cultural skills, and observing the differences or disconnection of the improvement of students’ cultural skills between learning using VBA-based teaching materials and conventional learning. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-randomized pretest-posttest control group design. A quantitative observation instrument in the form of a checklist was used as the research instrument. The results revealed that both learning using a teaching material of VBA-based Monopoly in Microsoft Excel and conventional learning were able to improve the students’ cross cultural skills. However, based on the result of N-Gain test, learning using teaching material of VBA-based Monopoly game in Microsoft Excel was better than conventional learning.

Abstract Scar Wash is a micro-business engaged in the care and cleaning of bags, hats and shoes located in the Karang Menjangan area of ​​Surabaya. In the process, partners face problems in the process of storing customer data is still done in the manual form. So it isn't easy in knowing information about customers and what transactions have been made by satisfied customers to improve service. Since of these reasons, we offer to create desktop applications by utilizing a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet application that is quite familiar to business owners. The system consists of three main menus, namely the customer data, the service data and the transaction menu. The customer data menu is for storing customer data. The service data menu is for managing service data provided by partners and the rates of each service provided. The transaction menu is used to record every transaction of a customer that includes services and the total cost that the customer must pay. This application has the advantage of being easy to install. After all, it does not require software other than Microsoft Excel, small and fast because it runs directly on the Excel application itself and is easy to use because it has a combo-box facility for selecting customer data and service data.   Keywords: Customer application, Microsoft Excel, Services, Micro-business   Abstrak Scar Wash adalah sebuah usaha mikro yang bergerak di bidang perawatan dan pembersihan tas, topi dan sepatu yang berlokasi di daerah Karang Menjangan kota Surabaya. Pada prosesnya, mitra menghadapi permasalahan pada proses penyimpanan data pelanggan masih dilakukan dalam bentuk manual yaitu ditulis pada buku. Sehingga menyulitkan di dalam mengetahui informasi tentang pelanggan serta transaksi apa saja yang pernah dilakukan oleh pelanggan tertentu guna meningkatkan pelayanan. Atas dasar hal ini, maka ditawarkan untuk membuat aplikasi desktop dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi spreadsheet Microsoft Excel yang cukup familiar bagi pemilik usaha. Sistem yang dibangun terdiri dari tiga menu utama yaitu menu data pelanggan untuk menyimpan data pelanggan, menu data layanan untuk mengelola data layanan yang disediakan oleh mitra serta tarif dari setiap jasa yang diberikan serta menu transaksi yang digunakan untuk mencatat setiap transaksi seorang pelanggan yang meliputi jasa atau layanan dan total biaya yang harus dibayarkan oleh pelanggan tersebut. Aplikasi ini mempunyai kelebihan mudah untuk dipasang karena tidak memerlukan perangkat lunak selain Microsoft Excel, kecil dan cepat karena langsung berjalan pada aplikasi Excel sendiri serta mudah digunakan karena dilengkapi fasilitas combo-box untuk memilih data pelanggan dan data layanan.   Kata kunci: Aplikasi Pelanggan, Microsoft Excel, Jasa, Usaha Kecil

AbstractUsability and usefulness have made the spreadsheet one of the most successful computing applications of all times: millions rely on it every day for anything from typing grocery lists to developing multimillion-dollar budgets. One thing spreadsheets are not very good at is manipulating the symbolic data and helping users make decisions based on them. By tapping into recent research in Logic Programming, Databases and Cognitive Psychology, we propose a deductive extension to the spreadsheet paradigm that precisely addresses this issue. The accompanying tool, which we call NEXCEL, is intended as an automated assistant for the daily reasoning and decision-making needs of computer users, in the same way as a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel assists them every day with simple and complex calculations. Users without formal training in Logic or even Computer Science can interactively define logical rules in the same simple way as they define formulas in Excel. NEXCEL immediately evaluates these rules, thereby returning lists of values that satisfy them, again just like with numerical formulas. The deductive component is seamlessly integrated into the traditional spreadsheet so that a user not only still has access to the usual functionalities but is also able to use them as part of the logical inference and, dually, to embed deductive steps in a numerical calculation.


Big Data consist large volumes of data sets with various formats i.e., structured, unstructured and semi structured. Big Data requires security because day by day attackers attack on it in different manner. Big Data Security Analytics analyses Big Data for finding various threats and complex attacks. By increasing the number of targeting attacks on data and one side rapid growing of data, it is too difficult to analyze accurately. The Security Analytics Systems are used the untrusted data. So, strong security analytical tools are required to analyze the data. The organizations and industries exchange the data through networks dynamically, so this may become more vulnerable for data misusing and theft. Attackers are more advanced in the attacking on data that the existing security mechanisms are not identified before damaging. At present, the collecting and analyzing various attacks is major challenging task for Security Analytics Systems, to take suitable decision. In this research paper, we have addressed about Hadoop tool that how it analyses Big Data and how Big Data Security Analytics is applied to analyze the various threats and securing the business data more accurately.
