This study highlights the overall current performance of Agamengi forest management. Descriptive survey method was employed in this study. A total of 182 respondents from 2183 households were selected through simple random sampling technique.Questionnaire, key informant interview and focus group discussions were mainly employed as data collection tools in this study. This desirable sample size was determined by using Yamane‘s statistical sample size determination formula. The major findings of this study revealed that the status and management of Agamengi forest in the last 30 years was much dense and there was proper management of the forest. However, the current forest status is degraded and the forest management is poor mainly due to rapid population pressure, high demand for fuel-wood, farmland expansion, charcoal making and inadequate implementation of forest laws. This study recommends that all concerned stakeholders should work together to keep and maintain the quality of the Agemengi forest through applying re-afforestation and afforestation methods. Key words: Causes, Degradation, Fuel Wood, Resource, Status.

The Kenya Forestry Service permits rental of low-density national forest areas for use as common farmland, but public access to such areas is restricted to prevent deforestation against a background of rising demand for fuel wood. This study was conducted to clarify characteristics relating to the production of indigenous bamboo (a useful wood resource) by the approximately 23% of locals who work on common farmland in central Kenya’s Kamae forest management area, with estimation to determine above-ground biomass. The results showed that bamboo still represents 60% of such biomass, indicating sustainability in the industry.

The study examined the relationship between leader attunement and employee work involvement of the deposit money banks in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. To accomplish the purpose of this study a cross sectional survey method for social research was adopted, with a self-administered questionnaire as instruments of data collection. The population of the study was 3,978 employees drawn from the ten deposit money banks in Port Harcourt. A sample size of 381 respondents was calculated using Taro Yamane sample size determination formula. The research instrument was validated through supervisor's vetting and approval, while the reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of  Crombach's Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using Spearman's Rank Order Correlation Coefficient and statistical software SPSS. The tests were carried out at a 95% confidence interval and a 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that a positive and significant relationship exist between leader attunement and the employee work involvement of the deposit money banks in Port Harcourt. The study recommends that leader should exhibit attunement skill since there is no better and faster way to build trust than for leader to listen to employee. Consequently. The study posits that management of deposit banks in Port Harcourt should encourage training programmes for leaders. This will enhance their social awareness competence.

In many legal settings, a statistical sample can be an effective surrogate for a larger population when adjudicating questions of causation, liability, or damages. The current paper works through salient aspects of statistical sampling and sample size determination in legal proceedings. An economic model is developed to provide insight into the behavioral decision-making about sample size choice by a party that intends to offer statistical evidence to the court. The optimal sample size is defined to be the sample size that maximizes the expected payoff of the legal case to the party conducting the analysis. Assuming a probability model that describes a hypothetical court’s likelihood of accepting statistical evidence based on the sample size, the optimal sample size is reached at a point where the increase in the probability of the court accepting the sample from a unit increase in the chosen sample size, multiplied by the payoff from winning the case, is equal to the marginal cost of increasing the sample size.

Entrepreneurial skills are a set of specific knowledge, abilities, skills, traits, motives, attitudes and values essential for the personal development and successful participation of each person in an organization. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial skills on SMEs performance among owners/managers operating registered businesses in Sabon Gari Market Kano, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used while a sample size of one hundred and seventy two (172) business owners/managers were drawn through the use of Yamane (1967) formula for sample size determination out of three hundred and three (303) owners/managers operating registered businesses in Sabon Gari Market, Kano, which constituted the study population. Probability sampling technique was used which involves simple random sampling. Closed-ended questionnaire served as a data collection tool for the study and Regression analysis was used to analyse the collected data through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. Face validity and reliability test (Cronbach’s Alpha) were conducted. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial skills have significant effect on SMEs performance; it also shows that significant relationship exists between entrepreneurial skills and SMEs performance. The study recommends that business owners and managers should focus on improving entrepreneurship skills in order to improve the performance of small and medium scale enterprises. Future researchers should expand the scope of the study to incorporate more organizations; again the research used only one variable, future researchers should use more variables in order to better capture the opinion of the respondents.

This study examined the relationship between knowledge acquisition and resource exploitation of indigenous oil and gas service companies in Niger Delta, Nigeria. Primary data was generated through structured questionnaire. The methodology used was quantitative and a cross-sectional survey method was adopted in the investigation of the study variables. The population of this study consisted of 332 (Three Hundred and Thirty Two) staff members of 26 highly functional/ active operational indigenous oil and gas service companies operating in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. A sample size of 181 was determined using Taro Yamen sample size determination formula. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 22.0. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between knowledge acquisition and resource exploitation of indigenous oil and gas service companies in Niger Delta, Nigeria.  The study recommends that indigenous oil and gas companies should foster relationships with critical stakeholders such as customers and suppliers and develop networks that may bring valuable information to the company, and opportunities to get new ideas from external parties should never be neglected. The managerial implications follow that if a firm enjoys a broad and connected client network it can facilitate the emergence of ambidexterity by stimulating higher levels of trust internally. However, if this firm is heavily dependent on teams to develop ambidextrous abilities in a self-managing and contextual fashion, trust may prove to be detrimental.

This study aims to investigate the role of innovation in the tourist attitude and improve the performance of the destination. In this regard, while reviewing the concepts of innovation, tourist attitude, and destination performance, using the structural equation modeling method, we examined the effect of innovation on tourist attitude and promotion of destination performance. The statistical population of this study includes tourists from historical places in Tehran, whose number is unlimited. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie-Morgan 384 sample size determination table, which was selected using simple random sampling. In order to collect data in this research, a questionnaire was used, the validity of which was confirmed as content validity by experts, and the validity of construction and structure by confirmatory factor analysis in Smart-pls software and its reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, approved by a factor of 0.954. In order to analyze the data in this study, the Chlomogroff-Smirnov test was used for regular testing, and structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses. The results showed that innovation in services and marketing has a significant impact on tourist attitudes, marketing promotion, and destination performance. The results also show that the mediating role of marketing promotion on the impact of innovation on destination performance has not been confirmed.
