The study examined the relationship between leader attunement and employee work involvement of the deposit money banks in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. To accomplish the purpose of this study a cross sectional survey method for social research was adopted, with a self-administered questionnaire as instruments of data collection. The population of the study was 3,978 employees drawn from the ten deposit money banks in Port Harcourt. A sample size of 381 respondents was calculated using Taro Yamane sample size determination formula. The research instrument was validated through supervisor's vetting and approval, while the reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of  Crombach's Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using Spearman's Rank Order Correlation Coefficient and statistical software SPSS. The tests were carried out at a 95% confidence interval and a 0.05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that a positive and significant relationship exist between leader attunement and the employee work involvement of the deposit money banks in Port Harcourt. The study recommends that leader should exhibit attunement skill since there is no better and faster way to build trust than for leader to listen to employee. Consequently. The study posits that management of deposit banks in Port Harcourt should encourage training programmes for leaders. This will enhance their social awareness competence.

This study investigated the relationship between staff development strategies and organizational performance. The independent variable, Staff development had as its dimension, coaching and mentoring, while the dependent variable organizational performance was measured using growth. The study adopted the cross sectional survey method of the quasi experimental research design. The study has a population of 1350 staff of NAOC studied, a sample of 271 from the population was taken using the Krejcie and Morgan sample size determination table. The questionnaire was the main instrument used to gather primary data, the instrument was subject to face and content validity, a pilot study was also carried out to ensure the instrument measures what it sets out to measure. A reliability of the instrument was also done using the Cronbach alpha test. The Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypotheses, while the partial correlation was used to check the effect of the moderating variable on the dependent and independent variable. Our findings revealed a significant relationship between the dimensions of our independent variable staff development strategies given as coaching and mentoring, and the measures of the dependent variable given as growth. It also concluded that coaching and mentoring play significant roles in building effective organizations. The study recommended that organizational practices be streamlined to increase coaching and mentoring by assigning or encouraging leaders to adopt subordinates and assign higher responsibilities aimed at seeing them develop. This study sought to examine the relationship between job security and organizational citizenship behaviour in telecommunication companies in Port Harcourt. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey research design in its investigation of the variables. Primary data was generated through structured questionnaire. The population of the study was 134 employees drawn from 4 telecommunication companies in Port Harcourt. The sample size was 100 determined through the Taro Yamen formula for sample size determination and the simple random technique was used. After data cleaning, only data of 91 respondents were finally used for data analysis. The reliability of the research instrument was achieved using the Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient. Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypotheses with the aid of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The study findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between job security and organizational citizenship behaviour in telecommunication companies in Port Harcourt. Thus the study concludes that job security significantly relate with organizational citizenship behaviour in telecommunication companies in Port Harcourt. The study recommends that that employees who are hard working with the firms should be identified and rewarded for their hard work.  Components of job security should be factored into telecommunication companies’ job description as it will go a long way in sustaining confidence in the course of discharging their duties. However, this study was able to assess quality of work life and employee turnover and measures by which it can be minimized

In view of the numerous challenges associated with contemporary meeting practice in an ever growing technologically driven society, the general purpose of the study was to determine how virtual meetings influence successful decision making process in the Nigeria banking sector. This descriptive research adopted a cross-sectional survey approach in investigating a homogenously characterised section of the sector in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Eighteen (18) banks were chosen based on the convenience in accessibility and a census of all the senior managers including Information Technology based personnel were drawn for study. Thus, a census population derived was 216. A 5-point Likert Scale structured close-ended questionnaire was designed and adopted for data collection from the targeted respondents. This instrument was further validated for face/content validity and subjected to Croubach’s Alpha reliability test. Data collected were tested and analysed using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient statistic and presented for clarity using the SPSS. Findings revealed the moderating effect of technology for virtual meetings and decision making success in the industry studied. Also, significant relationships exist between the different dimensions of virtual meetings and measures of decision making success in the banking sector and therefore recommendations were made in support of their adoption.

This study examined the relationship between technological changes and organizational growth in deposit money banks in Rivers State. The study adopted the cross-sectional survey design to elicit response from staff of the identified deposit money banks in Rivers State. Primary data was collected using self-administered questionnaire. The population of the study comprised all the 16 deposit money banks in Port Harcourt. Using a multi-stage sampling technique, 96 staff were selected as the sample of the study. Since the banks had few permanent staff, convenient and census frame were adopted to determine the number of staff per bank. Thus, using the simple stratified random sampling technique the staff were categorized into three cadres-Top management, IT Personnel and Cashiers/Tellers from which staff were randomly selected from each cadre amounting 6 staff from each bank. The reliability was attained using test-re-test and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient analysis with all items having a reliability index above 0.70. The Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient (rho) was used in testing the hypotheses. The study revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between technological changes and organizational growth. This implies that the various developments in ICT have positive and significant influence on organizational growth. It, therefore, concluded that organizational growth in deposit money banks can be improved by the application of the various innovations and devices generated in the various stages of technological changes. The study, therefore, more attention be directed towards the use of ICTs in banking operations in deposit money banks in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, since the banking industry serve as a lubricant to the cog of the wheel of the nation’s economy.

This study examines the relationship between conscientiousness and employee commitment in manufacturing firms in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The study adopted the cross-sectional survey in its investigation of the variables. Primary source of data was generated through self- administered questionnaire. The population for the study was 400 employees of six (6) selected manufacturing companies in Port Harcourt.  A sample size of 200 was determined using Taro Yamen’s formula. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Statistics with the aid of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS version 23.0). The result showed that there is a significant relationship between conscientiousness and employee commitment in manufacturing firms in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The study therefore recommends that management of manufacturing companies in the process of recruiting, employers should look out for and give preference to people with conscientious traits, because, they do not just carry out their tasks well, but they also perform them well, reduce turnover and are committed to the goals of the organisation.

This study was carried out to ascertain the effect of Interactional Justice on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour of Academic Staff in Universities in Bayelsa State. Cross Sectional Research design was adopted. A sample size of 294 was obtained from a population of 1,268 workers, using Krejcie and Morgan (1970) Sample size determination table. With the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences, the Spearman Rank Order Correlational Coefficient was used to analyse the data. The results obtained showed a significant positive relationship between Interactional Justice and all measures of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (Altruism, Courtesy, Conscientiousness, Civic Virtue, and Sportsmanship), indicating that workers are very helpful and assist colleagues with problems. It was recommended that management should always be polite and respectful to employees and involve them in decision making because employees perception of equity breeds extra role behaviour.

This study examined the relationship between firms corporate social responsibility behavior pattern and the climate of the host community environment. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey and collected data from a cross-section of 50 high class hotels operating in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics for the demographics and study variables, and Spearmans Rank Order Correlation Coefficient (rs) for the bi-variate analysis. The study found that companies that exhibit proactive social responsibility behavior enjoy conducive business climate in their host community environment more than those with reactive behavior pattern. However, those with resistant behavior toward social responsibility operate in very unconducive climate in the host community environment. The study therefore concluded that the conductive climate in the host community environment is a function of the firms proactive social responsibility consciousness to the host community. The study recommends that companies should be proactive and consultative in their social responsibility focus and should also adopt the public private partnership (PPP) initiating in the provision of societies social need for harmonious host environment.

This study examined the relationship between strategic thinking and flexibility of Deposit Money Banks in South-South, Nigeria. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design with primary data was generated through self- administered questionnaire. The population for this study was five (5) tier-one banks in South-South, Nigeria. The study however focused mainly on their Regional Offices located in Port Harcourt. Six Regional Managers for each bank were used as the study respondents giving a total of 30 respondents. Census sampling was adopted since the study sample was small. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha with all the items scoring alpha coefficient above 0.70. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman Rank Order Correlation Coefficient with the aid of SPSS version 23.0. The tests were carried out at a 95% confidence interval and a 0.05 level of significance. The study findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between strategic thinking and flexibility of Deposit Money Banks in South-South, Nigeria. The study recommends that deposit money banks should build strategic thinking competencies of its managers and employees through such activities such as brainstorming, scenario visualization, repertoire building and dialogue as critical means by which they can respond most effectively to rapid change and achieve sustainable success.

Abstract Introduction The caregiver’s psychosocial problems are unnoticed in the emergency and trauma care center. Therefore, the study objective was to understand the impact of psychoeducation and psychosocial intervention on traumatic brain injury (TBI) caregivers during hospitalization. Methodology The study adopted a descriptive research design. Sixty-three (n = 63) consented caregivers were recruited by using a cross-sectional survey method. Two separate checklists were used to collect the psychosocial problems in emergency and trauma care as well as to know the satisfaction levels of caregivers after the intervention. R free 3.0.1 software was used to calculate the frequency and percentage. Results The caregiver’s mean age was 39 years (39.46 ± 16.22). The majority of the caregivers were males (45; 71.4%) working as daily wagers (42; 66.7%). Caregivers experienced psychosocial problems, that is, depression, anxiety, stress, unable to handle crisis, grief, lack of coping skills (57; 90.5%), emotional distress (57; 90.5%), financial constraints (45; 71.1%), and need for referral services (45; 71.1%). Tailor-made psychosocial interventions were provided to the caregivers. Conclusion To conclude, there is a greater need to provide psychosocial intervention and train the caregivers to provide care for TBI survivors during hospitalization. There is a need to develop the uniform standard operating procedure for medical and psychiatric social workers in providing psychosocial care in emergency and trauma care setting.

Objective: The aim of this study is to discover effectiveness of interdental aid, their use in the daily oral hygiene and suggestion of interdental aid to be used. Methods & Materials: This study was conducted among 503 convenient samples of patients from outpatient department of IOD, CMH Lahore medical college. It is a questionnaire-based study. Data collected from February 2021 to April 2021. A written consent was taken. All the examiners were calibrated for check-up and questionnaire was filled on effectiveness of interdental aids and its uses and recommendation by individual. Results: Total 503 people with 230 females and 273 males were participated in the study. Majority of the sample size did not know how to do interdental cleaning. Also, there is lack of awareness about dental hygiene in the masses. Conclusion: Amongst the patients which came for their dental treatments who were using any interdental cleaning aid, toothpick was the most common choice. However, toothpicks are not a recommended aid because it can damage the gums and cause bleeding. Awareness should be given to the patients so that they use appropriate methods and aids for interdental cleaning. Keywords: Interdental Aids, Effectiveness
