<p>This research aims to explore the sustainability of family business through the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the community surrounding the company. As many research studies mentioned that family businesses are often strongly anchored in the local community, the high commitment to the local community will leads to a high degree of socially responsible acting. Qualitative method is used in the form of a case of an Indonesian small business in Bogor. The data collection is done using direct methods like observation, interview, and going through the company documentations to comprehend the case situation. The result of the research shows that the CSR implementation, in case observed, was in accordance with the needs of surrounding community. The CSR activities were in the form of the education, religious activities, public facilities, employee and community empowerment. The community and the company were supporting each other in order to make the activity success. This study concludes that this symbiotic CSR could be new model for family business enterprises sustainability through CSR.</p>

AbstractIn essence firms or companies are usually thought to exist to make products for or provide services of some sort to third parties, other companies or individuals. The philosophical question which naturally arises then is ‘to the benefit of whom should a firm’s activities be aimed?’ Possible answers include the owners of the firm, the firm’s employees or wider society, the firm’s local community or their host nation. It is because of firms’ location within a wider society that the issue of corporate social responsibility arises. The issue is do they contribute in a positive way to the fabric of society. In this paper we conduct an exploratory investigation whose research questions, broadly, are whether there is public evidence of corporate social responsibility activity by firms listed in the UK and to what extent, if any, such activities may amount to genuinely socially responsible management by the firms. We examined the most up to date annual reports of a split sample of 36 firms listed in the FTSE 350. The short answers to the two research questions above are: to some degree and no by some margin, based on data from the sample firms.

This paper focuses on analysis of and suggestions for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) orientation during the closedown process. The article addresses CSR considerations that adjust business strategies, which in turn change the Human Resource Management (HRM) focus. Our study focuses on four best practice cases in Sweden, which are compared with three reported cases in the literature. All four best practice cases had a long notice period and socially responsible coordination of management and employees, which created adjusted corporate strategies. Three cases had the CSR orientation in the earliest stage, while the fourth case had this coordination during a later stage of the closedown process. We develop a model where we show that the scope for action increases if the CSR orientation and coordination of actions come early in the closedown process, due to the increased ability to adjust the business strategy and create a plan for outreach HRM activities and local community activities.

AbstrakMakalah ini merupakan kajian kualitatif atas pelaksanaan CSR oleh PT. PERTAMINA (Persero) MOR I – TBBM Lhokseumawe yang dipusatkan di Kecamatan Banda Sakti Kota Lhokseumawe pada tahun 2017. Realisasi CSR yang dimaksud meliputi kegiatan: 1) Pengembangan Sentra Industri Ikan Kering; 2) Peningkatan Kapasitas Kelompok Masyarakat Peduli Wisata: Workshop Kebencanaan dan Search and Rescue (SAR) bagi Relawan dan Pemandu Wisata; 3) Pelayanan Kesehatan: Pelatihan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) untuk Relawan. 4) Pengembangan Usaha Souvenir Decopage; 5) Pelatihan Pengembangan Wirausaha Baru di Bidang Sablon dan Reparasi Mesin Penyejuk Udara (Air Conditioner/AC) Bagi Angkatan Kerja Produktif Putus Sekolah. Merujuk kepada capaian dari pelaksanaan kegiatan yang ditinjau dari sisi dampak yang ditimbulkan terhadap perubahan perilaku masyarakat secara berkesinambungan; realisasi program CSR oleh TBBM Lhokseumawe yang dimaksud relatif telah efektif dan efisien meletakkan fondasi yang kuat bagi masyarakat setempat dalam transformasi paradigma dan etos kewirausahaan secara mandiri pasca pelaksanaan kegiatan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan berlandaskan kemitraan yang melibatkan berbagai komponen stakeholder dengan target penerima manfaat kepada kelompok masyarakat miskin setempat telah berhasil menciptakan sebuah sistem pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan melalui penguatan modal sosial, intelektual dan organisasional yang berlaku. Aspek modal organisasional merupakan tantangan terbesar dalam capaian dan konsistensi keberlangsungan program terhadap kehidupan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakat setempat. Referring to the achievement of the implementation of activities in terms of the impact that are reflected in changes of community behavior on an ongoing basis; the realization of the CSR program by TBBM Lhokseumawe is considered relatively effective and efficient in building a strong foundation for local communities leading to the transformation of the paradigm and entrepreneurial ethos independently after the implementation of activities. The implementation of activities based on partnerships involving various components of stakeholders with the target beneficiaries to local poor groups has succeeded in creating a sustainable community empowerment system through the strengthening of prevailing social, intellectual and organizational capital. The aspect of organizational capital is the biggest challenge in the achievement and consistency of program sustainability towards the economic and social life of the local community. Verslo organizacijos, kurios pastaruoju metu priverstos itin aktyviai konkuruoti, vis dažniau pristatydamos savo veiklą pabrėžia socialinę veiklą, veiksmus, kurie pristato organizaciją kaip aktyvią bendruomenės narę, besirūpinančią tiek darbuotojais, tiek aplinka. Socialinės atsakomybės veikla, kuria organizacijos prisistato suinteresuotiesiems, gali būti įvardijama kaip viena iš korporatyvinės komunikacijos priemonių. Tačiau kyla klausimas, ar socialinės atsakomybės veikla kaip ryšių su suinteresuotaisiais priemonė gali būti taikoma visų organizacijų, net ir tų, kurios vykdo nesocialiai atsakingą veiklą, yra alkoholio ir tabako gamintojos. Šios straipsnio tikslas – apžvelgti korporatyvinės socialinės atsakomybės veiklos taikymo korporatyvinėje komunikacijoje galimybes ir šios veiklos raišką nesocialiai atsakingą veiklą vykdančiose organizacijose. The question discussed in the paper is based on assumptions that business organizations that produce goods such as alcohol or tobacco use tools of social responsibility to create and manage their reputation. Qualitative analysis of the content of news presented on business organizations’ web pages show that these organizations are more careful about manifestation of their international activities that could be named as socially responsible and are presented in English, than about the activities that are presented for local community in the Lithuanian language. The investigation presented in the article shows the tendency of manifestation of corporate social responsibility activities as a means of marketing but not as social projects oriented towards community (national / regional / international). The research carried out in 2008 and presented in the article shows that the business organizations that work in the not socially responsible market use corporate social responsibility only as much as it is useful for advertising and promotion activities.

The study is based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews of 15 heads of commercial and non-profit organizations in Volgograd. To process the data obtained during the interview, the method of network thematic analysis was used. The study showed that the socially responsible activities of commercial organizations and NGOs of Volgograd is often defined by relationships between people rather than by relations between companies, which is one of the reasons that encourages actors to personal participation in socially responsible activities and helps to strengthen the positive impact of corporate social responsibility on the society. The moral aspect of these relationships (friendship, trust, care, support, etc.) as the most important component of social capital contributes to the development of socially responsible behavior. The involvement of subjects in socially responsible activities is also influenced by the current social and economic situation in Volgograd. Respondents assign a regulatory role to the state as a subject of social responsibility; they believe that it can act as an initiator of social projects, as well as contribute to the expansion of corporate social responsibility, creating conditions for business development. Representatives of Volgograd organizations help those whose problems, difficulties are clear, cause sympathy due to the personal experience of the subject, personal observations. An important criterion for choosing the recipients of social responsibility is the place of residence of its subjects (help their city, district, take care of the well-being of the local community in the territory of the company's presence). The social responsibility of organizations in Volgograd is determined by goals and motives that go beyond economic expediency (gratitude, pride, duty, loyalty, justice, love for people, etc.). At the same time, the scale of assistance depends, according to respondents, on the availability of free financial resources, which can no longer be spent on business development, employee compensation, personal needs.

The history of Krupp is the history of modern Germany. No company symbolized the best and worst of that history more than the famous steel and arms maker. This book tells the story of the Krupp family and its industrial empire between the early nineteenth century and the present, and analyzes its transition from a family business to one owned by a nonprofit foundation. Krupp founded a small steel mill in 1811, which established the basis for one of the largest and most important companies in the world by the end of the century. Famously loyal to its highly paid workers, it rejected an exclusive focus on profit, but the company also played a central role in the armament of Nazi Germany and the firm's head was convicted as a war criminal at Nuremberg. Yet after the war Krupp managed to rebuild itself and become a symbol of Germany once again—this time open, economically successful, and socially responsible. This book presents a balanced account, showing that the owners felt ambivalent about the company's military connection even while becoming more and more entangled in Germany's aggressive politics during the imperial era and the Third Reich. By placing the story of Krupp and its owners in a wide context, this book also provides new insights into the political, social, and economic history of modern Germany.

aVenezuelan Tax Law as a Promoter of Corporate Social Responsibility   RESUMEN El presente artículo tiene por objetivo disertar sobre los dispositivos contenidos en la legislación tributaria venezolana que actúan como promotores de la responsabilidad social empresarial (RSE), para ello se utilizó el paradigma Cualitativo, bajo un enfoque hermenéutico – interpretativo, cuyo método fue análisis de contenido. En tal sentido se han observado los aspectos, elementos y mecanismos que se encuentran en la LISLR, LIVA y LOCTI que fomentan, incentivan o coadyuvan la RSE; finalmente se plantearan lineamientos para la aceptación de una nueva cultura de RSE con dimensión tributaria. Considerando, que dentro de la legislación tributaria no existen dispositivos específicos que promuevan la RSE, y, ello debe ser tomado en cuenta por el legislador para modificar ciertas normas y crear el incentivo necesario para que las empresas sean de forma congruente socialmente responsables. ABSTRACT The objective of this study is to explore regulatory provisions from Venezuelan tax law as promoters of corporate social responsibility (CSR). For the methodological analysis of content, the study uses the qualitative paradigm and a hermeneutical-interpretative approach. The research observes different elements and mechanisms from LISLR, LIVA and LOCTI which encourage and contribute to corporate social responsibility. The study also proposes guidelines for the acceptance of a CSR culture from a tax dimension. The fact that there are no regulatory provisions within the Venezuelan tax law needs to be taken into account by legislators in order to amend certain norms and create the necessary incentives for companies to be socially responsible. Corporate Social Responsibilityis a concept that a company has various forms of responsibility to all stakeholders including consumers, employees, shareholders, communities and the environment in all aspects of the company's operations that include economic, social, and environmental aspects. Therefore CSR is closely related to "sustainable development", in which a company, in carrying out its activities must base its decisions not only on the impact on economic aspects, such as the level of profits or dividends (profits), but also must consider the social and environmental impacts that arise from that decision, both for the short term and the longer term.Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG), in managing its Productive Waqf by establishing business units which mostly involve workers from the local society around PMDG. They are employed according to their skills. This is a form of implementing CSR in order to help advance and improve the welfare of the local society. The existence of these various business units is one of the educational facilities and as a form of CSR application which is actually intended to educate in the fields of independence, entrepreneurship, sincerity and sacrifice.PMDG involvement in social activities that are useful for the local society such as infrastructure development and village facilities, regeneration of students who are from around PMDG to be able to get higher education with funding from the PMDG, doing guidance to the local society through various religious activities, educational and economic activities is a form of PMDG responsibility to the local society environment and also to all stakeholders such as students, Ustadz, employees, so as to provide social and environmental impacts for the short term and the longer term.Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibilityandproductive waqf.

India is the highest country in a number of universities which constitute more than seven hundred universities, including private, public and semi sectors. Despite India have more institutions and strategies for education still Indian education is not competitive and performing infancy stage as compared to world class level. Education has pivotal role in nation building and molding superb wings of human recourse. In globalized economy and the privatization the education have been transformed into rural or root level of sustainable development in all sorts of human life. Adopting a businesslike approach which emphasizes a strategic CSR is important to survival in this increasingly competitive arena. It does not appear as a surprise to see universities and colleges discover the opportunity to move the focus beyond the classrooms into their own institutional operations. Universities, colleges and schools are the centers of knowledge generation and sharing perform a very important role in addressing the Triple Bottom Line of the world’ socioeconomic and environmental issues by promoting sustainable solutions. This paper discusses the good CSR practices and some suggestions that can boost up the CSR management and make invites on education sector.

The first iteration of a nonstatic special-purpose taxonomy of corporate social performance concepts is developed from a mailed, self-administered survey completed by managers of U.S. socially responsible mutual funds. The study combines the traditionally disparate research areas of Corporate Social Performance and Socially Responsible Investing. As a partial update of Rockness and Williams (1988), a descriptive account is presented of what mutual fund managers regard as the social issues that constitute corporate social performance. The resulting taxonomy represents an empirically derived framework useful in considering social accounting in general and accounting standard setting in particular.
