The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the weight area ratio and specific leaf area mustard green on the effect of organic fertilizer PETROGANIK on peat soil in Palangka Raya from January to March 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is dose of giving organic fertilizer PETROGANIK (PO) in five levels : PO1 = 200 kg ha-1, PO2 = 400 kg ha-1, PO3 = 600 kg ha-1, PO4 = 800 kg ha-1 and PO5 = 1.000 kg ha-1. Variable response of this research is a high plant, number of leaves, leaf area, weight area ratio, specific leaf area, and fresh yield of mustard green on 28 days after planting. The experiment resulted, showed that organic fertilizer PETROGANIK nonsignificant to high plant, number of leaves, leaf area, weight area ratio and specific leaf area but significant and can increase the fresh yield of mustard green. Although organic fertilizer PETROGANIK nonsignificant to weight area ratio and spesific leaf area mustard green, but its an alternative variable to describing plant growth and correlation with a fresh yield of mustard green. Application 1.000 kg ha-1 organic fertilizer PETROGANIK is the best treatment to increase growth plant and yield mustard green on peat soil.

The purpose of this research is to know and find the growth potency on the seeds germination and seedling growth of Morinda plant from seed on the kind of plant media composition from March to June 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is kind of plant media composition in five mixture composition and ratio : s1 = mixture of mineral soil + peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1:1), s2 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s3 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s4 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1), and s5 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1). Variable response of this research is a time of germination, the percentage of seeding, height of the plant, number of leaves, the diameter of the stem, and leaf area on 12 weeks after seeding. The experiment resulted, showed that plant media composition is very significant to high plant and leaf area seeding of morinda, but not significant to a number of leaf and diameter of stem on 12 weeks after seeding. Plant media composition that mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1) is the best treatment to support germination and increase seedling growth.

Green cincau (Premna oblongifolia Merr) is a functional food plant that needs to be developed because it functions as a refreshing plant and has high chlorophyll content to increase endurance and its phytochemical content which is useful for overcoming various diseases. Green cincau (Premna oblongifolia Merr) in peat soils have not been widely cultivated due to the constraints of low soil fertility. This research is basic research aiming to determine the effect of using liquid organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizer on the growth of green cincau in peat soil. The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Department of Agronomy and soil analysis was carried out at the UPR Integrated Laboratory. This research used a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely factor I (Liquid Organic Fertilizer) consisting of 3 types, namely: P0 = without liquid organic fertilizer; P1 = Agrobost liquid organic fertilizer; P2 = Nasa liquid organic fertilizer; Factor II (NPK Inorganic Fertilizer) which consists of 3 levels, namely: N0 = NPK 0 g polibag-1; N1 = NPK 1 g polibag-1; N2 = NPK 2 g polibag-1. There were 9 treatment combinations, the replication was carried out 3 times so that there were 27 experimental units. Growth observation variables included a number of shoots, shoot length, number of leaves, leaf area, leaf fresh weight, number of roots, root length, and root fresh weight. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (F test) at the 5% level, if the effect was significant, then tested it with the 5% BNJ test. The results showed that the interaction of liquid organic fertilizer and NPK inorganic fertilizer did not significantly affect all variables. The application of liquid organic fertilizer affects the number of leaves, leaf area, leaf fresh weight, number of roots and root fresh weight. Nasa organic fertilizer provides better growth than Agrobost with 13.42 leaves shoots-1, 2,623.40 cm2 leaf area polibag-1, 47.02 g polibag-1 fresh leaf weight, 12 roots number polibag-1 and 1.55 root weight g polibag-1. NPK inorganic fertilizer at a dose of 2 g polibag-1 resulted in better leaf fresh weight, namely 45.64 g polibag-1

This study aims to determine to determine the effect of land spinach plant growth due to the provision of liquid organic fertilizer palm sugar and to determine the right concentration of palm sugar palm POC to the growth of land spinach plants. This experiment used a single factor randomized block design consisting of 4 replications of 4 treatments. The best experimental results on plant height and number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width aged 14 and 24 HST were influenced by the use of palm juice 40 ml / L water with a height of 19.59 cm and 32.13 cm number of leaves 6.34 and 12.25 strands, leaf length 13.71 and 15.75 while leaf widths are 1.74 and 3.48 cm.

Effect of NASA Liquid Organic Fertilizer and Compost Fertilizer on Kenaf Plant Growth (Hibiscus cannabinus L). This study aims to determine the effect of NASA POC, compost fertilizer and the interaction of NASA POC and compost fertilizer on kenaf plants. This research was carried out at East Borneo Samarinda Indonesia. with a time of ± 4 months, starting from June to September 2016. The design of the study uses factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the administration of NASA POC consisting of 4 levels, namely: j0: Control (without treatment), j1: POC with a concentration of 10 ml / liter of water, j2: POC with a concentration of 15 ml / liter of water, j3: POC with a concentration of 20 ml / liter of water. The second factor is Compost fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: k0: Without the provision of Compost Fertilizer, k1: Composting 500 gram / polybag, k2: Composting Fertilizer 700 grams / polybag, k3: Composting 800 grams / polybag. From the analysis of variance showed that the effect of giving NASA POC (J), compost (K) and the interaction of NASA POC and compost (JK) did not affect the parameters of plant height 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, stem diameter 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, number of leaves 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, leaf area 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP.

The aim of this work was to assess growth traits during the initial developmental stages of olive seedlings, which could be correlated to time to first flowering, facilitating fast selection in olive breeding programs. The experimental material consisted of 232 olive seedlings derived from controlled crosses of 'Kalamon' with self (KA × KA), with 'Amphissis' (KA × AM), and with 'Koroneiki' (KA × KO) and from open pollination of 'Kalamon', 'Amphissis', 'Koroneiki', 'Chalkidikis', and 'Manzanillo'. Vegetative traits of the seedlings, including canopy height and diameter, length of lateral vegetation, number of leaves, mean and total leaf area per plant, leaf shape characteristics, and specific leaf area (SLA), were recorded until 15 months after sowing. The first seedlings to initiate flowers, 4 years after sowing, were also recorded. The existence of correlations between the above growth traits and time to first flowering was investigated. In single-branched seedlings 6 months after sowing, height measured at this stage was significantly correlated with the mean and total leaf area per plant, specific leaf area, and other vegetative traits measured 15 months after sowing. Seedlings with high values of these parameters were the first to initiate flowers 33 months later. Our results indicated that pre-selection of olive seedlings for earliness of first flowering is possible, based on vegetative characteristics assessed very early in their development.

Wild poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla L.) is a difficult-to-control weed in soybean production in Brazil that has developed resistance to herbicides, including acetolactate synthase inhibitors. We investigated the potential fitness cost associated to the Ser-653-Asn mutation that confers imazamox resistance in this weed. Plant height, leaf and stem dry weight, leaf area and seed production per plant as well as the growth indices of specific leaf area, leaf area ratio, relative growth rate and net assimilation in F2 homozygous resistant (R) and susceptible (S) wild poinsettia progenies were pairwise compared. S plants were superior in most of the traits studied. Plant heights for S and R biotypes, recorded at 95 days after planting (DAP), were 137 and 120 cm, respectively. Leaf areas were 742 and 1048 cm2 in the R and S biotypes, respectively. The dry weights of leaves and stems in the S plants were 30 and 35%, respectively, higher than in the R plants. In both biotypes, the leaves had a greater share in dry weight at early development stages, but from 50 DAP, the stem became the main contributor to the dry weight of the shoots. The R biotype produced 110 ± 4 seed plant−1, i.e., 12 ± 3% less seeds per plant than that of the S one (125 ± 7 seed plant−1). The growth indices leaf area ratio and specific leaf area were generally higher in the S biotype or similar between both biotypes; while the relative growth rate and net assimilation rate were punctually superior in the R biotype. These results demonstrate that the Ser-653-Asn mutation imposed a fitness cost in imazamox R wild poinsettia.

This research aims to determine the effect of concentration of organic fertilizer Super NASA to the growth of seeds of white teak and to know the optimum dosage of organic fertilizer Super NASA can increase the growth of NASA plant seed white teak. The design used in this study was a Randomized Block Design with the treatment used is N0: without fertilizer Super NASA NASA, N1: Fertilizer NASA7 .5 ml seeds-1, N2: Fertilizer NASA 15 ml seeds-1, N3: Fertilizer NASA 22.5 ml seeds-1, N4: Fertilizer NASA 30 ml seeds-1. Variable observation in this study is the height of the plant, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight tan-1, fresh and dry weight oven tan-1. The results showed that the granting of Fertilizer NASA exerted a highly significant effect on the height of plant (23,65%), the number of leaves is not significant, leaf area (53,61%), fresh weight tan-1 (60,89%) and dry weight tan-1 (55,43%). The optimum dosage of Fertilizers NASA give the seed growth of white teak is best on the seed-1is 30 ml.

Leaf area per plant, total number of leaves and tillers, and total plant dry weight increased with increasing daylength over the range 8 to 24 h. The increase in the net assimilation rate and relative growth rate with increasing daily total radiation was similar to that obtained by raising the intensity of light given to plants grown under continuous illumination.During the vegetative phase of growth, the leaf area ratio decreased with increasing daylength, mostly because of an increased leaf thickness, again dependent on the level of total daily radiation. During the later stages of growth, earlier floral initiation at long daylengths caused an early decline in the leaf area ratio because of the rapid growth of the stem associated with inflorescence formation. This was a photoperiodic effect independent of the level of total daily radiation, as shown by supplementing an 8-h daylength with 8 h of low-intensity illumination.


Research was carried out to evaluate the effects of individual and combined application of organic, NPK (15:15:15), organic plus NPK (15:15:15), fertilizers on the growth parameters of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum. Mill) in the greenhouse condition of The Oke – Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (Derived savannah), Oyo State, Nigeria. Study was conducted in complete randomized design (CRD). Treatments were at four levels and replicated three times. The soil used was loamy sand. Results showed that the highest average number of leaves (140), number of roots (136), root girth (19.3 cm) and root length (40.8 cm) were achieved in organic plus NPK, highest average plant height (78.4 cm) and stem girth (7.6 cm) was achieved at 50 gm level of NPK (15:15:15) fertilizer treatment, while the highest average leaf area (45.6 cm2) was achieved at 50 gm level of organic fertilizer, the control values were far reduced compared to other levels of treatments. The analysis of variance indicated that organic fertilizer, organic plus NPK (15:15:15) fertilizers had significant (p ≤ 0.05) effects on number of roots, plant height, stem girth, root girth, leaf area, root length and number of leaves. NPK (15:15:15) fertilizer had significant (p ≤ 0.05) effect on number of leaves, plant height and leaf area and no significant (p ≤ 0.05) effects on number of roots, stem girth, root girth and root length, however, 50 gm level of treatment of organic fertilizer had distinct improved significant (p ≤ 0.05) effects on four (4) growth parameters; number of leaves, stem girth, root girth and root length when compared with other levels of treatments for NPK (15:15:15), organic plus NPK (15:15:15) fertilizers, therefore, 50 gm level of organic fertilizer could be applied for better production of Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum. Mill) in a loamy sand soil.
