The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of liquidity and capital structure on firm value with profitability as intervening variable. The population in this study is the consumer goods sector companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2013-2016. Sampling technique using purposive sampling method, with samples produced as many as 20 companies from 37 companies of consumer goods sector. This hypothesis testing uses Path Analysis with E-Views 9.0 and a significance level of 5%. Test results of the testing showed that (1) liquidity has a significant effect on profitability with significance level 0,0192 < 0,05. (2) capital structure has a significant effect on profitability with a significance level of 0.0003 < 0,05. (3) liquidity has no effect on firm value because of the significance level of 0.09982> 0.05. (4) capital structure has a significant effect on firm value with significance level 0,0000 < 0,05. (5) profitability has a significant effect on firm value with significance level of 0.0001 < 0,05. (6) liquidity and capital structure has no effect on firm value through profitability because the indirect influence of both variables is smaller than direct influence.

Prospective investors in the Stock Exchange desire empirical based analysis of firms’ performance to guide their investment decisions. This study examined the impact of quantitative factor, dividend per share (DPS) on determination of share prices of the selected consumer goods firms listed in the Nigeria Stock Exchange over the period 2009-2018. One hypothesis anchoring on the impact of independent variable DPS on the share prices was formulated for testing in this study. Judgmental sampling technique was adopted in the study. Annual financial statements of the selected firms were used for the study. Ratio analysis, correlation and linear regression models were used to measure the impact of the independent variable on the Share price (SP), the dependent variable. Paired sample t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 5% level of significance. The empirical findings show that, there is a positive correlation between the independent variable (DPS). DPS is accountable for about 21.7% changes in the share prices of consumer goods firms listed in the Nigeria Stock Exchange. Investors are enjoined to carefully scrutinize the trend in the DPS of the consumer goods company listed in Nigeria Stock Exchange among other variables before investing their funds; doing so will lead them to making good and viable investment decisions. Management of the consumer goods firms should also strive to operate optimal dividend policy that will not be detrimental to the share price of its organization. KEY WORDS: Dividend per share, share price, Stock Exchange, consumer goods firms.

The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of leverage, inflation and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the share price at PT. Astra Autopart, Tbk. companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011-2015. The sampling technique in this study using a purposive sampling. With the technique of purposive sampling, all the members of the research samples by criteria. Samples that meet the criteria are used research data. Then followed the classic assumption test and test hypotheses by linear regression. The results of this study demonstrate the regression results in regression equation that Y = 2605,424 + 1561,550 X1 + 2,338 X2 + 38,994X3. T test results showed that the leverage anda GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is positive and significant effect on stock prices, while inflation is not positive and significant effect on stock prices. F test results showed that jointly leverage variables, inflation and GDP variables affecting the stock price significantly. The test results R2 (coefficient of determination) found that the variable leverage, inflation and GDP able to explain 35,4% of the stock price variable, while the remaining 64,6% is explained by other variables. Keywords: leverage, inflation, GDP, and the share priceThe purpose of this study was to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of leverage, inflation and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the share price at PT. Share prices are the most important indicator readily available to the investors for their decision to invest or not in a particular share. Theories suggest that share price changes are associated with changes in fundamental variables which are relevant for share valuation like payout ratio, dividend yield, capital structure, earnings size of the firm and its growth, [Wilcox (1984); Rappoport (1986); Downs (1991)]. Linter (1956) linked dividend changes to earnings while Shapiro valuation model (1962) showed dividend streams discounted by the difference in discount rate and growth in dividend should be equal to share price. This predicts direct relation between pay out ratio and the price-earning multiple. Conversely it means that there is an inverse relation between pay out ratio and share price changes. Several eventbased studies established direct relation between share price changes and either earnings or dividend changes [Ball and Brown (1968); Baskin (1989)]. Sharpe (1964) and Hamada (1972) suggested direct relation between share price changes and capital structure. Beaver, Kettler and Sholes (1970) showed that firms appear to pay less of their earnings if they have higher earning volatility. This suggests payout ratio as relevant factor for share price changes. Investigations of share price changes appear to yield evidence that changes in fundamental variable(s) should jointly bring about changes in share prices both in developed and emerging markets. However, the actual fundamental factors found to be relevant may vary from market to market. For example, changes in asset growth of firms are significant in the case of Japanese shares while earnings appear to be universally a relevant factor [Ariff, et al. (1994)]. However, it is widely agreed that a set of fundamental variables as suggested by individual theories is no doubt relevant as possible factors affecting share price changes in the short and the long-run [Ariff and Khan (2000)].

Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) rejuvenate economic prowess in developing countries, after severe shocks like wars, droughts and floods. MFIs are a promising tool to tackle poverty and improve food security. Sustainability of MFIs based on their capital structure ensures sustainability in poverty reduction and improved food security. The limited literature on the impacts of capital structures on MFI performance necessitated the study. Panel data from 14 MFIs was collected based on availability and accessibility. The sources of data were financial and income statements covering five years. Econometric analysis using STATA software was done following methodologies of Bogan and Rosenberg. MFIs lent to both individuals and groups and 79% were not regulated by the Central Bank, 86% had their funding sources as loans, grants, excluding deposits/savings and 73% attained operational self-sufficiency. Debt and grants were negatively correlated to operational and financial sustainability. When sustainability was more constricted to financial sustainability, debt and share capital remained noteworthy. Other than grants, debt was paid back on competitive market interest rates most especially debts from money lenders, whereas share capital fetched in revenues to the MFIs at market interest rates from the borrowers. Grants and debt had a substantialdamagingconsequence on MFI performance. Capital structure was essential in MFIs’ sustainability. MFI specific characteristics, like management were also important. Subject to sampling uncertainties, the results indicate that adding to regulation by Central Bank, MFIs must specialize their lending to reduce portfolio at risk. MFIs must reduce dependence on debts and grants and resort to accumulating share capital for long-term sustainability.
