Syeikh al-Albani merupakan ulama kontemporari pertama yang mempopularkan konsep tasfiah dalam dakwah. Menurut beliau, tasfiah merupakan antara metode yang sepatutnya dijadikan sebagai asas beragama oleh seluruh kaum Muslimin bagi mengembalikan mereka kepada ajaran Islam yang sebenar sejajar dengan apa yang dibawakan oleh Nabi SAW. Artikel ini membahaskan konsep tasfiah beliau ini dari sudut sejarahnya dalam Islam, dahulu dan kini. Melalui kaedah kajian kualitatif dan pendekatan analisis dokumen, pengkaji mendapati bahawa konsep tasfiah yang diutarakan oleh Syeikh al-Albani mempunyai sejarahnya yang berakar umbi dalam perkembangan Agama Islam. Kajian ini memberi fokus kepada sejarahnya dalam tiga bidang utama Agama iaitu akidah, hadis dan fikah serta peranan yang dimainkan oleh para ulama dalam ketiga-tiga bidang ini untuk menangani penyimpangan dalam akidah serta fahaman-fahaman sesat, memelihara ketulenan hadis-hadis Nabi SAW dan menjelaskan hukum-hakam serta tatacara ibadah sesuai dengan sunah Nabi SAW. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa konsep tasfiah yang diketengahkan oleh Syeikh al-Albani bukanlah sesuatu yang baharu kerana para ulama sepanjang sejarah Islam telahpun menekankan tentangnya. Impak kajian ini menunjukkan keperluan para ilmuwan menekankan konsep tasfiah dalam dakwah mereka bagi memelihara Agama Islam daripada sebarang penyelewengan. Shaykh al-Albani is the first contemporary scholar to popularise the concept of tasfiah (purification) in da'wah. According to him, tasfiah is one of the methods that should be used as a religious basis by all Muslims in order to bring them back to the true teachings of Islam in line with what was taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This article discusses his concept of tasfiah based upon its historical point of view in Islam, past and present. Through qualitative research methods and document analysis approach, this study shows that the concept of tasfiah is closely related to the history of the development of Islam. This research focuses on its historical development in the three main fields of Islam which is creed, hadith and jurisprudence, and the role played by scholars in dealing with deviations in faith, preserving the authenticity of the hadiths of the Prophet PBUH and explaining the Islamic laws and methods of worship in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The results show that the concept of tasfiah expressed by Shaykh al-Albani is not something new because scholars throughout Islamic history had emphasized on this concept. This study also addresses the necessity of emphasizing the concept of tasfiah in da’wah among Muslim scholars, in the hope that they might fortify Islam from any deviation.

Abstract. Many Muslims in the Riau Islands do not know the history of the development of Islamic theory from the center of power to spread to various corners. This is as the existence of the Great Mosque of Raja Haji Abdul Ghani (MBRHAG) on Buru Island, Karimun. Thus, to uncover the existence of this mosque, qualitative research methods are used so that history, architecture, and socio-religious functions can be known. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the establishment of MBRHAG was initiated by Raja Haji Abdul Ghani. He was the first Amir (sub-district level government) of the kingdom of Riau-Lingga on Buru Island, in the 19th century. The architecture is a Chinese. Therefore, on the right side of this mosque is around 200 m, there is also the Sam Po Teng Temple and the Tri Dharma Dewa Bumi. Thus, the close location of the mosque with Chinese and Confucian worship houses's shows a harmonious relationship between Malay Muslims and Chinese Buddhists. In fact, in the continuation of this relationship there was information that a Chinese Buddhist had joined a Muslim friend to fast for half a month of Ramadan.Keywords: Mosque, Malay Muslims, Chinese Buddhists/Confucians, Harmonious RelationsAbstrak. Umat Islam di Kepulauan Riau banyak yang tidak mengenal sejarah perkembangan ajaran Islam dari pusat kekuasaan hingga tersebar ke berbagai pelosok. Hal ini sebagaimana keberadaan Masjid Besar Raja Haji Abdul Ghani (MBRHAG) di Pulau Buru, Karimun. Dengan demikian, untuk mengungkapkan keberadaan masjid ini digunakan metode penelitian kualitatif  agar dapat diketahui sejarah, arsitektur, dan fungsi sosial keagamaannya.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pendirian MBRHAG diprakarsai oleh Raja Haji Abdul Ghani. Ia adalah Amir (pemerintah setingkat kecamatan) pertama kerajaan Riau-Lingga di Pulau Buru, pada abad ke-19. Adapun arsitekturnya adalah seorang Tionghoa. Karena itu, di sebelah kanan masjid ini sekitar 200 m juga terdapat Kelenteng Sam Po Teng dan cetya Tri Dharma Dewa Bumi. Dengan demikian, dekatnya lokasi masjid dengan rumah ibadah umat Tionghoa dan Khonghucu ini menunjukkan hubungan yang harmonis antara muslim Melayu dengan Budhis Tionghoa. Bahkan, dalam kelangsungan hubungan ini terdapat informasi seorang Buddhis Tionghoa pernah ikut temannya yang beragama muslim untuk berpuasa selama setengah bulan Ramadhan.Kata Kunci: Masjid, Muslim Melayu, Buddhis/Khonghucu Tionghoa, Hubungan Harmonis

Lexicology has a very important role in the study of spells, especially in the study of meaning (style). This paper focuses on: 1) the vocabulary used in the spell how to Cara Menanam Tembuni and translation; 2) mantra studies how to Cara Menanam Tembuni by examining meaning in language style. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research methods of text analysis. The data obtained are examined using descriptive analysis approach. From the results of a study on how to plant the placenta spells found: 1) the vocabulary used in the spell of how to grow the afterbirth is the Java Language Ngoko-Chromo among: meneng, jabang bayi, siro, beko, marang, bopo, biyung, sedulur, inggih; 2) spells by planting the placenta contained a tautolog-style parallelism assertion language (meneng-meneng, sugih-sugih, wani-wani, siro-siro, sedulur-sedulur, inggih inggih inggih; alliteration (meneng-meneng, wani-wani, sedulur-sedulur); and inversion (meneng-meneng jabang bayi siro).Keywords: Lexicology Literature, Mantra, Vocabulary, Meaning

ABSTRACTThis paper aims to find out the form of the tradition of tinilo pa’ita present at the ceremony commemoratingthe 40th day of someone’s death because currently the tradition of tinilo pa’ita is fairly difficult to find inits community. This study uses qualitative research methods using an ethnographic approach by Spradleyto understand a culture from the point of view of their owners of culture. Tinilo pa’ita is a tradition inthe form of chants. Tinilo Pa’ita is present in the tradition of wopato pulu huyi. This song containsan apology for the person who has died, advice to the family left behind to remain patient and sincere,advice to the other peolple who is left to always remember death and always carry out the religious ordersadopted by the community, namely Islam. In its implementation, tinilo pa’ita attended several stagesof the wopato pulu huyi ceremony. The presence of tinilo pa’ita in Gorontalo society can only be foundduring the wopato pulu huyi because, the community believes this song can only be sung when it is sideby side with the tomb that will be delivered to the tomb. Tinilo pa’ita merupakan sebuahtradisi yang berbentuk lantunan nyanyian. Tinilo Pa’ita hadir dalam tradisi wopato pulu huyi.Nyanyian ini berisi permohonan maaf atas orang yang telah meninggal, nasihat kepada keluargayang ditinggalkan agar tetap sabar dan ikhlas, nasehat kepada handaitaulan yang ditinggalkanuntuk selalu mengingat kematian dan senantiasa menjalankan perintah agama yang dianutoleh masyarakat yakni agama Islam. Dalam pelaksanaanya, tinilo pa’ita hadir dalam beberapatahapan pelaksanaan upacara wopato pulu huyi. Kehadiran tinilo pa’ita dalam masyarakatGorontalo hanya dapat dijumpai saat wopato pulu huyi sebab, masyarakat percaya nyanyianini hanya bisa dilantunkan pada saat berdampingan dengan nisan yang akan diantarkan kemakam. Hingga saat ini tradisi tinilo pa’ita masih terus dilaksanakan meskipun hanya padadaerah-daerah tertentu saja.Kata Kunci: Tradisi Lisan, Tinilo Pa’ita, Upacara Pemakaman

Ayse Erkmen is known for her site-specific installations and she created some of her artworks by making use of memory of the space. In these works, the artist transforms the space with its memory into an art material. By making simple but extraordinary interventions to the space, she grasps the past and memories of the space. In this way, in her works she touches the memory of the space created with a minimal reality. In her own words, the practice of the artist, standing at a point "between being an art and not being an art", brings forward the relationship between space and memory with an innovative approach. This research examines the relationship between memory and space that is especially inherent in the artist’s site-specific works. Therefore, a detailed research is carried out on the practice of the artist, who deals with this relation ship in a postmodern context. The aim of this article is to conduct a research on the relationship between space and memory in postmodern art, based on Ayse Erkmen’s site-specific works. In the research, document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was applied. In the article, it has been concluded that the relationship between space and memory in Ayşe Erkmen's works does not contain an utopian discourse. Instead without creating a nostalgic feeling, this relationship carries a postmodern context with minor narratives. Keywords: Space Memory, Postmodern Art

Preaching the gospel by Western mission organizations has given rise to a unique encounter between missionaries and indigenous peoples where they preach the gospel. The problem that arises then is the lack of research into what this encounter is and what it means for church life today. The author examines the encounter of evangelists from de Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerken (CGK) in the Netherlands with the Toraja Mamasa community, especially the To Salu tribe with qualitative research methods by relying on library research and mission history archives in Mamasa. Also conducted interviews with traditional and church leaders in Mamasa. The author found that the encounter between the two evangelists with the To Salu tribe had resulted in a missionary attitude and insight and certain theological characteristics which were then inherent in the history of the Toraja Mamasa Church (GTM) which was the fruit of the CGK evangelism. The author's thesis statement: "The attitude and insight and style of the theology of Bikker and Gelijnse, namely the pattern of Dutch Calvinist theology, then colored the theological features of the Mamasa Toraja Church in the course of its ministry in the context of Toraja Mamasa to the present.”Pemberitaan Injil oleh organisasi misi Barat telah melahirkan pertemuan unik antara misionaris dan masyarakat adat di mana mereka memberitakan Injil. Masalah yang muncul kemudian adalah kurangnya penelitian pada apa yang ditimbulkan oleh perjumpaan tersebut dan maknanya bagi kehidupan gereja saat ini. Penulis meneliti pertemuan penginjil dari de Christelijke Gereformeerde Kerken (CGK) di Belanda dengan komunitas Toraja Mamasa, terutama suku To Salu dengan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan mengandalkan penelitian pustaka dan arsip sejarah misi di Mamasa. Juga melakukan wawancara terhadapa tokoh-tokoh adat dan gereja di Mamasa. Penulis menemukan bahwa pertemuan antara dua penginjil dengan suku To Salu telah menghasilkan sikap misi dan wawasan serta ciri-ciri teologis tertentu yang kemudian melekat dalam sejarah Gereja Toraja Mamasa (GTM) yang merupakan buah penginjilan CGK. Pernyataan akhir penulis: "Sikap dan wawasan serta gaya teologi Bikker dan Gelijnse, yaitu pola teologi Calvinis Belanda, kemudian mewarnai ciri-ciri teologis Gereja Mamasa Toraja dalam perjalanan pelayanannya dalam konteks masyarakat Toraja Mamasa."

Karya sastra yang berjenis drama menjadi mimik untuk jendela kehidupan nyata. Dalam naskah drama Badai Sepanjang Malam karya Max Arifin tergambar bagaimana idealisme yang tinggi mampu dipatahkan oleh pahitnya kehidupan. Mental serta keteguhan hati nurani dipertaruhkan di atas sebuah idealisme. Penulis mengkaji salah satu naskah drama, yaitu naskah drama Badai Sepanjang Malam karya Max Arifin melalui pendekatan prakmatik dari sudut pandang psikologi. Karena dalam naskah drama Badai Sepanjang Malam karya Max Arifin terdapat konflik batin yang sangat rumit. Sumber data penelitian di dapat dari kutipan-kutipan dialog naskah drama Badai Sepanjang Malam karya Max Arifin. Metode yang digunakan penulis memakai metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dengan hal tersebut penulis berharap dapat memberikan kajian yang objektif.   Literary works that are of the type of drama become the expression for the window of real life. In the drama drama Badai Sepanjang Malam Max Arifin's work illustrates how high idealism can be broken by the bitterness of life. Mental and perseverance are at stake above an idealism. The author examines one of the drama scripts, namely the drama script Badai Sepanjang Malam by Max Arifin through a pragmatic approach from a psychological point of view. Because in the drama script Badai Sepanjang Malam Max Arifin's work contains a very complicated inner conflict. The source of research data can be obtained from dialogues from Max Arifin's drama drama dialogues by Badai Sepanjang Malam. The method used by the author uses descriptive qualitative research methods. With this the authors hope to provide an objective study.

In this review I offer an alternative perspective on the book Teaching Qualitative Research: Strategies for Engaging Emerging Scholars by emphasizing how the authors propose a holistic approach to learning qualitative research. Departing from the point of view of an emerging scholar, this piece was written as I was transitioning from a doctoral program to the professional world, learning with the authors what it is to teach qualitative research methods while being socialized as a scholar in the doing of qualitative research.

The paper deals with assessing the degree of directness, indirectness and politeness transferred in subtitled translations into Serbian of a representative sample of dialogues from the sitcom Friends and five US feature-length films. The aim of the research is to shed light on the link between directness, indirectness and politeness in the original dialogues and their subtitled translations, which represent three closely related concepts in politeness studies. Starting from the more traditional Brown-Levinsonian (1987) views on these phenomena, the paper will try to discuss the problem of politeness in subtitled translation from a more recent, post-modern point of view, which sees politeness only as a marked form of politic, i.e. socially acceptable and appropriate behaviour (Watts et al. 2005). Bearing in mind the differences in dominant cultural expectations and scripts between Serbian and US audiences, as well as the technical constraints of subtitling as one of the two prevalent modes of audiovisual translation, it is expected that the two sets of dialogues – the original ones in US English and their subtitled translations into Serbian – will show considerable differences when it comes to the varying degrees of directness and/ or indirectness they convey in cases of interrogative forms functioning as requests, orders, suggestions or statements. However, it is also expected that these differences will not automatically lead to conspicuous consequences in terms of politeness, since being verbally polite is here viewed as a form of politic behaviour in the specific contexts of both the source and the target cultural matrix. Applying qualitative research methods, the analysis is carried out by means of exemplifying and describing the aforementioned phenomen.

Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana perbedaan persepsi ibu rumah tangga terhadap kebijakan kantong plastik berbayar yang dikeluarkan Pemerintah. Persepsi yang berbeda ini ditinjau dari tiga faktor yaitu Pemersepsi (Perceiver), Sasaran persepsi (Pereceived), dan Situasi (Setting) Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan. Dalam hal Pemersepsi Ibu Rumah Tangga memiliki pengetahuan mengenai kebijakan plastik berbayar dari berbagai sumber seperti televisi, media online dan interaksi langsung dengan pelayan toko hanya saja dalam mengorganisasikan informasi tersebut memiliki reaksi yang beragam. Dalam hal sasaran Sebagian ibu rumah tangga menganggap kebijakan ini baik untuk mengubah perilaku bijak dalam menggunakan kantong plastik, sebagian lainnya masih mempermasalahkan nilai 200 rupiah yang harus dibayar untuk satu kantong plastik, dan sosialisasi pemerintah yang tidak merata. Sementara dalam hal Situasi sebagian ibu-ibu memiliki respon yang baik dengan menggunakan kantong plastik yang dapat digunakan berulang kali (totebag),sebagian lagi memiliki respon yang biasa saja. AbstractThis research examines how differences of perception of the homemaker towards plastic bag unpaid policies issued by the Government. These different perceptions in terms of three factors, namely the Perceiver, target perception (Pereceived), and situation (Setting) Researcher using qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis approach. Results of the study showed. In terms of Perceiver Housewife with knowledge of plastic paid policy from various sources such as television, online media and direct interaction with the waitress just store in organizing such information have mixed reactions. In terms of target Some housewife thinks this policy either to change the behavior of the wise in the use of plastic bags, others still dispute the value of 200 rupiah to pay for one plastic bag, and a Government socialization of uneven. While in terms of the situation most mothers have a good response with the use of plastic bags that can be used repeatedly (totebag), some have a mediocre response.
