Ectopic salivary gland tissue (ESGT) is salivary tissue located outside the major, minor and accessory salivary glands. Neoplasms rarely arise from ESGT, let alone carcinoma expleomorphic adenoma (CEPA) which is a malignant tumour that arises from the epithelial component of pleomorphic adenoma. It usually occurs in the parotid gland and in lesser instances, from submandibular gland or minor salivary glands. Herein, we report a rare case of CEPA in right supraclavicular ESGT of a 67-year-old lady. She underwent complete surgical excision of the mass and is free from any recurrence to date. Brief review of pathogenesis, clinical features and treatment of ectopic CEPA are discussed. A thorough review of the English literature reveals that our patient may be the second case of ectopic CEPA in the neck region ever reported to date. Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of minor salivary glands is an extremely rare entity that has only recently been described, with a few published cases in the English literature. A 42-year-old woman with a history of a surgically excised mucinous cystadenoma of the oral tongue, presented with a painful swelling in the oral tongue slowly growing for 1 month. On clinical examination, there was a firm, relatively well-circumscribed mass in the left posterior border of the mobile tongue. Subsequent MRI scan revealed a heterogeneous lesion composed of multiple cysts separated by contrast enhancing septa, in the posterior two-thirds of the left tongue. Imaging findings were similar to those of the previously resected mass, suggesting local relapse of the primary lesion. A complete surgical excision was performed and the histopathological examination revealed typical features of a low-grade mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of minor salivary glands.

Epiglottis dermoid cysts are generally benign lesions, which can affect all the age groups. Dermoid cysts arising from the head and neck region are rare, slow growing, and well-circumscribed neoplasm. Symptoms are non-specific and usually related to the size and the location of the lesion. A dermoid cyst of the epiglottis is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, only one case has been previously reported in the English literature and a total of three cases were presented in Russian literature in two studies. In our report, a middle-aged male presented with foreign body sensation in throat for 1-year and difficulty in swallowing for three months, mainly for solids. Thorough history, clinical examination and relevant investigation were done. Direct laryngoscopy was done and complete surgical excision was done. The aim of the case report is to present a rare case of epiglottic dermoid cyst, its clinical presentation, radio-logical features and surgical management.

ABSTRACT Of all the neurogenic tumors, about half are seen in the head and neck region. Schwannomas are benign tumors of nerve sheath schwann cells and are quite uncommon in the oral cavity, rarely occurring in the lip area. A MEDLINE search in the English literature from 1969 to 2013 revealed only 20 documented cases of schwannomas of the lip. Although rare, schwannoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any nodule or mass in the oral mucosa. In the current study, authors report a case of an intraoral schwannoma situated in the lower lip. The diagnosis was established based on clinical and histopathological aspects, which was treated by complete surgical excision. Salivary gland tumors are rare tumors in the head and neck region and Pleomorphic Adenoma (PA) is the commonest salivary gland tumor. It is a benign tumor usually affecting parotid, submandibular or minor salivary glands. In minor salivary glands, the palate and lip are the commonest sites. Histopathological examination and various imaging techniques aid n diagnosis. Wide surgical excision is the treatment of choice. Here we present a rare case of PA of the buccal mucosa.

Schwannoma are slow growing tumours, which can arise from any peripheral nerve. 10% of schwannomas that occur in the head and neck region mostly originate from the vagus or sympathetic nervous system. Extracranial schwannomas in the head and neck region are rare neoplasm. Intraoral schwannoma are only 1% of the all head and neck tumours. Diagnosis is established by imaging studies such as magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography, while FNAC is used to rule out other conditions. We report a rare case of lingual schwannomas generally present as a painless lump schwannoma of the tongue in a 27-year-old male complaining of asymptomatic swelling over a posterolateral surface of the tongue, treated by complete surgical excision. The diagnosis was established on the basis of clinical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical examination. We report a rare case of schwannoma over the posterolateral surface of tongue. Prognosis is good for the patient when this condition is correctly diagnosed as the condition rarely recurs after complete resection.

Pleomorphic adenoma are common benign salivary gland tumours, which are found in majority in major salivary glands such as parotids and submandibular glands. However, Pleomorphic adenoma to originate from dorsum of the nose is a rare entity. In rare cases, it can be found in unusual sites such as upper aero digestive tracts, palate and lacrimal glands. Complete surgical resection is the treatment of choice. Though, the evolution to malignancy and recurrence is not usually encountered, still a long-term follow-up is recommended. Here, we report a 53 year old female , complained of swelling in the left side of dorsum of nose for 10 years with a feeling of heaviness over the left side of face and difficulty in vision on the side of swelling due to the enlarged size of the swelling which gave a feeling of vision disruption , also had a prior history of incision and drainage 4 years ,done elsewhere. On clinical examination, nodular mass was palpated on left side dorsum of nose which was freely mobile, and Skin over the swelling had blackish pigmentation. Anterior rhinoscopy revealed no abnormalities. Complete surgical excision via a lateral rhinotomy incision was performed. Cytological and histological evaluation revealed the presence of pleomorphic adenoma. We observed a decent cosmetic outcome with no evidence of recurrence.

Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common neoplasm in major and minor salivary glands. It constitutes approximately 90% of all benign salivary gland lesions and the parotid is the most affected location. When the minor salivary glands are affected, it mostly occurs at the junction of the hard and soft palates. The diagnosis is complex because of the great histological variety and biological behavior of this tumor, a histopathological examination being essential. The recommended treatment is surgical excision. For lesions located superficially in the parotid gland, superficial parotidectomy - identifying and preserving the facial nerve - is necessary. Lesions in the palate or gums sometimes demand a margin of safety, being excised below the periosteum, including the overlying mucosa. With correct surgical removal, the prognosis is excellent. The aim of this study is to report a case of an unusual minor salivary gland pleomorphic adenoma in the hard palate, describing the most important aspects of this pathology.
