Wilson disease, also known as hepatolenticular degeneration results from improper metabolism of copper due to deficiency or low level of caeruloplasmin which causes excessive accumulation of copper in liver, brain, eyes and different organs. This is not a curable disease. The patient needs a lifelong treatment but early diagnosis can prevent significant damage to the critical organs. This article presents a case study on Wilson disease and the role of radiology in helping to diagnose the disease and monitor patients with this condition.Bangladesh Med J. 2016 Jan; 45 (1): 54-56

Wilson disease (hepatolenticular degeneration) is an autosomal recessive, inherited disorder of copper metabolism resulting in excessive accumulation of copper in the liver, brain, and other organs of the body. The manifestations of the disease are related directly to this accumulation of copper. Copper homeostasis normally is a product of the balance between intestinal absorption of dietary copper and hepatic biliary excretion of excess copper. In Wilson disease, incorporation of hepatic copper into ceruloplasmin is defective and excretion of copper in the bile is reduced. A low level of ceruloplasmin, which until a few years ago was erroneously considered to be the basis for the disease, is a consequence of the underlying metabolic defect.

Objectives. Psoriasis makes a relative contraindication for lithium treatment which can exacerbate its symptoms or induce it itself. On the other hand, lithium exerts immuno-modulatory activity. Case study. In this paper, a case of a female patient is presented. The patient has been treated since 2012 for bipolar affective illness (bipolar disorder – BD) and psoriasis, which occurred for the first time during a depressive episode. Despite intensive pharmacological treatment, both as inpatient and outpatient, a satisfactory improvement of affective illness has not been obtained. After the introduction of lithium, a remission of BD was achieved as well as a reduction of psoriatic changes, which have been maintained until now (2021). Conclusion. The remission of Bipolar Disorder (BD) on lithium can suggest that the patient belongs to the group of the so-called excellent lithium responders. In the presented case remission of psoriasis was observed during lithium treatment. This case report must be treated with caution because remission could be spontaneous and the patient needs further observation.

It comprises Ayurveda chikitsa and other therapies like Yoga, hydrotherapy, occupational, music, physiotherapy and many more. Observation and Result: Patient has shown promising results in all developmental milestones such as gross motor, fine motor and personal social in 6 months duration except language. Different varieties of massage therapy, diet and Basti, Nasya (Panchkarma) procedures, Omkar mantra chanting, passive Yogasana were done. Conclusion: In this case report, mainly Ayurveda interventions were implemented with wholistic approach as an adjuvant, received good result in gross motor development which is very difficult in RS, hence it is a unique case. It also opened the door of wholistic approach with the hope to deliver the good result in similar disorders.

The impact of the modernization era on elementary and Kindergaten children can be seen from the intensity of children playing with gadgets, and the low level of literacy in children. This is the background for the presence of the Oemah Dolan organization. This study aims to identify and describe Oemah Dolan's programs and the role of Oemah Dolan in increasing reading interest in children in Kedongdong Village. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with the analysis technique of Miles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that Oemah Dolan has several programs, namely: book stalls, reading, fun learning, and creativity week.

BACKGROUND: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and a gel containing an extract of Barbatimão, a native Brazilian tree, have shown promising results in both preclinical and clinical wound healing studies. PURPOSE: To describe the treatment of surgical wound dehiscence with LLLT and Barbatimão gel. CASE STUDY: A 54-year-old woman without comorbidities underwent abdominoplasty at another health facility. Three (3) weeks later she presented to the authors’ clinic after an episode of syncope, abrupt dyspnea, purulent exudate, and necrotic tissue in the surgical incision. She reported that wound redness, warmth, and swelling started 8 days postoperatively. The patient was admitted; on day 3 of that hospital stay, her condition improved and surgical debridement was performed. Follow-up care of wound dehiscence was provided in the outpatient clinic. The treatment involved daily application of Barbatimão gel and weekly application of LLLT. The wound healed after 84 days. CONCLUSION: This case report suggests that LLLT may be a beneficial adjunctive therapy, together with Barbatimão gel, for the treatment of surgical wound dehiscence.

Fournier's gsngrene is a rare disease involving the scrotum and the penis with occasional extension up to the abdominal wall. The etiology of the disease, commonly without prodromal symptoms and with sudden onset, is still not fully understood. The organisms are usually streptococcus haemoliticus and/or anerobic bacteria. We report a case of Fournier's gangrene, presenting septic shock. The patient was treated with reanimatory care, antibiotics, local excision and debridment. Speaking about anatomical and etiopathogenetic hypotheses, we discuss the diagnostic problems and the treatment of the disease. We emphasize the role of the early diagnosis.

Takayasu’s disease (non-specific aorto-arteritis) is a chronic, idiopathic, inflammatory disease that primarily affects large vessels, such as the aorta and its major branches, including the pulmonary and coronary arteries. It often develops in women under the age of 50 years. Accurate and early diagnosis plays an important role in the prognosis of life in patients with this pathology. Complaints of  patients with lesions of the aorta and its branches are non-specific in nature and are characterized by fever, night sweats, malaise and arthralgia, passing under the “mask” of other diseases. With the progression of the disease, stenoses or aneurysms occur in the arteries, which leads to ischemia of the limbs and internal organs, manifested by the corresponding clinical manifestations. The article presents the observation of aorto-arteritis Takayasu type V (generalized variant) in the woman of 26 years.

High flow priapism caused by perineal trauma is a relatively rare disorder. Early diagnosis represents a mandatory condition for the therapeutic resolution. Ultrasound examination is affordable and a within reach method for diagnosis also in an emergency context. We present the case of a 56-year-old male patient with traumatic priapism which was subsequently investigated by contrast-enhanced ultrasound and shear wave elastography. This may be one of the first cases presented in the literature
