A case study research was conducted with a view to assess the impact of five factors such as man, machine, material, money, and safety on productivity. The scope of this study was limited only to small metal workshops, which produces customized independent products. 18 case studies were performed based on selected workshops of different categories (welding shops, repair shops, sheet metal shops). Total Productivity Model (TPM) has been used as the theoretical base of the research model. It has been identified that insufficiency of skilled workers, improper utilization of materials, inefficient inventory control, ineffective safety package etc., are the most critical obstacles to productivity improvement in terms of product and material and hence to the overall productivity improvement of the organization as a whole. Some productivity improvement strategies made on the basis of the observations and analysis are also included in this paper. The study aims to describe and identify aspects during the thesis writing process. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research on alumni of the Library and Information Science Study Program Universitas Brawijaya. Then the selection of alumni as informants considers the impact after writing the thesis is completed. The results showed that the reflection of alumni there is a learning process in each stage of thesis writing. The learning process that occurs is quite complex because it is not only done independently but also involves other parties. Independent learning focuses on the process of applying information literacy skills possessed by alumni. Where there is an information management process which is the most important part, because the process affects the decision making for each action. Meanwhile, the involvement of other parties is another role of the thesis as a forum for collaborative learning. Not only that, the whole process forms a new understanding that can be useful across generations.Keywords: Thesis, Reflection, Information Literacy, Knowledge Sharing Practice, Collaborative LearningABSTRAKRefleksi pengalaman alumni merupakan kajian yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek selama proses penulisan skripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus pada alumni Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi Universitas Brawijaya. Kemudian pemilihan alumni sebagai informan mempertimbangkan dampak yang ditimbulkan pasca penulisan skripsi selesai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa refleksi alumni terdapat proses pembelajaran dalam setiap tahapan penulisan skripsi. Proses pembelajaran yang terjadi tergolong kompleks karena tidak hanya dilakukan mandiri tetapi juga melibatkan pihak lain. Pembelajaran secara mandiri menitikberatkan pada proses penerapan kemampuan literasi informasi yang dimiliki oleh alumni. Dimana terdapat proses pengelolaan informasi yang merupakan bagian terpenting, karena proses tersebut berpengaruh pada penentuan keputusan untuk setiap tindakan. Sedangkan untuk pelibatan pihak lain merupakan peran lain dari skripsi sebagai wadah kolaborasi pembelajaran. Tidak hanya itu, secara menyeluruh proses tersebut membentuk pemahaman baru yang dapat bermanfaat lintas generasi.

The central point of this paper is to present the results of comparative case study research concerning the impact of the interplay between formal and informal institutions in the corporate governance systems (CGS) of Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC). Particular focus was put on the values of the corporate governance codes (CGC) of CEECs, as well as on transparent ownership structures, transactions with related parties, the protection of minority shareholders, independent members of supervisory boards, and separation between the CEO position and the chairman of the board of directors. The main subject of interest concerns two research areas: the character of the relationship between formal and informal institutions, as well as whether the interplay between them is relevant to the CGSs of CEECs. Moreover, the author investigates whether the CGCs of CEECs consist of regulations that are compatible with the values set up in preambles using research methods such as individual case study or deductive reasoning. The conclusion presented in the paper was drawn on the basis of a review of the literature and research on national and European corporate governance regulations, as well as the CGC of CEECs. The primary contribution this article makes is to advance the stream of research beyond any single country setting, and to link the literature on the interplay between formal and informal institutions related to CGSs in a broad range of economies in transition (‘catch up’ countries) like CEECs. This paper provides an understanding of how the interplay between formal and informal institutions may influence the CGCs of CEECs.

This study aims to analyze the increasing potential for poverty in the city of Palangka Raya from the perspective of SMIs due to the impact of the 19th COVID pandemic. The data was obtained based on the results of in-depth interviews from February to April 2020 with 10 SMIs and supported from secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency. The data is processed based on qualitative research principles based on the type of case study research. In the results of this study it was found that the SMIs experienced a very detrimental impact in terms of sales and marketing of products so that employees who come to work are terminated indefinitely, in this connection it appears that there is potential increases in poverty that can occur in the future come.

The study explores the impact of participatory systems on information quality using Abu Dhabi as a case study. Participatory systems are used for deciding social change to affect residents and citizens positively. The case study research method was used to examine information quality in a participatory system. Content of the participatory system was assessed for information quality and it was found to support theoretical claims that Abu Dhabi residents and citizens participate in building sustainable competition using participatory systems. The limitations of the study are found in its focus on a single application, the app CityGuard. Through examining the use of CityGuard, specific issues were recognized which allowed the definition of steps on how its use could impact social change more positively. This paper presents findings from the use of CityGuard as a public participatory tool.

The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the impact of including a student who uses a wheelchair and is given no direct support in a 4th grade general physical education (GPE) class on students without disabilities. Using an evaluate case study research method, data were collected in the beginning and end of a 2-week GPE volleyball unit from 2 intact elementary school classes using 2 attitude inventories, volleyball skills, and knowledge test. Results indicated no significant class difference in volleyball skill and knowledge acquisitions. Overall, attitudes toward including a student with a disability tended to be positive in both classes. In addition, there was no significant time difference within the classes on either attitude inventory.

The Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), a process-based innovation originally published in the mid-1980s, involves the separation and conversion of internal setup operations into external ones. Traditionally some of the manufacturing company facing the problem loss of available time due to spent time for the changeover processes. Changeover process time meaning changing the programming or operation sequences on the machine based on process requirement during the change from one to another one model especially for the mixing parts. SMED technique is a systematic approach that enables to reduce dramatically the set-up time or changeover time. Normally in the SMED technique, it was segregated between internal and external set-up. External set-up means any processing time was done up front which is before machine stop and internal time is any tasks was performed during machine in operating, which is considering changeover time. The impact to organization that it was increasing the productivity, capacity and at the same time increased the revenue. This paper focuses on the improving the productivity on the CNC machine process through implementing SMED technique and eliminating waste in the case study company.

The aims of this research were identify: 1) The types of code switching, 2) Find out the factors influence the teachers to switch English into Indonesian or the opposite, 3) Analyze the impact of teacher’s code switching for the students. This research was held on SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. The research design was qualitative research especially case study. Research used observation and interview as the data collection technique in this research. To analyze the data the writer transcribing interviewing, scanning material, typing up field notes, coding process, making qualitative narrative, and making interpretation the data. Based on finding, the types of code switching which was used by English teacher at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo include tag code switching, inter sentential code switching, and intra sentential code switching with different quantities. The factor influence teachers to conducted switch English to Indonesian such as the students understanding was the big factor and the students characteristic were different, they had not same ability in English. Finally, the researcher proposed suggestion to the teachers to maintain using code switching during teaching and learning English in classroom, but continue to prioritize English as the primary. They could switch Bahasa Indonesia, but when used for certain purposes only.

Feedback is a powerful tool that has a significant influence on student success. Its meaningful impact on learning and teaching processes has been well-documented. However, there is minimal research concerning the impact of feedback strategies on foreign language learning. This article seeks to provide a theoretical and practical understanding of the impact of feedback on foreign language teaching and learning processes. This is done through a case study research conducted in a private institution in Bogotá, Colombia. The evidence demonstrates that the feedback strategies used and the manner in which they are administered influence their effectiveness. Three main strategies were observed and analyzed: corrective, motivational, and developmental. This article concludes with a suggestion to make feedback an explicit policy of teachers’ education programs in the country.

The purpose of this study is to describe, (1) the steps of the internal school quality assurance system, (2) the strategy for implementing internal school quality assurance, and (3) the implementation of the implementation of the internal school quality assurance system. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with a case study research design. This research was conducted in Al-Kautsar Plus Primary School Malang by involving the Principal as key informants and additional informants as teachers. This study collected data using interview techniques, documentation studies and observations. The results of this study are, (1) the SPMI school's internal quality assurance steps in the school's internal quality assurance through the Plan, Do, Check and Act steps. (2) the school strategy in improving the quality of the superior schools is done internally, the development of syllabus, evaluation of minimum completeness criteria (KKM), graduation standard requirements (SKL), supervision of learning, and learning, and (3) the impact of the implementation of internal quality assurance carried out by Al-Kautsar Plus Primary School in the City of Malang, is school achievements have been achieved both nationally and internationally and the image of the school has increased.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to give an analysis of the humanitarian situation and the case of human rights in Syria after the events of the Arab spring. Methodology: This is analytical-descriptive research that has been done through literature review, content analysis, and documentary and case study research. Result: our results suggest that the Syrian government made false concessions designed to end the revolts. The occurrence led to the formation of a rebel group, the Free Syrian Army whose main objective was to oust the authoritarian regime and stop the killing of civilians. This marked the beginning of the blatant violation of human rights as well as the civil war in Syria. The government not only ignited but also took the war to its own people killing, injuring and imprisoning thousands of people. Worse still, thousands of women and young girls still suffer sexual violence during the nightly raids conducted frequently on either opposing camps. Following the massive violations of human rights, almost all economic sectors of Syria have met rock-bottom. Applications: This research can be used for policymakers and the international community to take a further step to aid the Syrian civilians. Novelty/Originality: In our research, we try to target a very much debated topic in the Middle East. Although several articles written about the humanitarian and human rights situation in Syria studies on human rights after the Arab spring is still lacking.
