Background: Mental health needs of victims of domestic and family violence are often overlooked. A booklet was designed to help women update their knowledge and skills in effective coping with domestic and family violence and support them in developing effective stress reduction and problem management techniques. In addition, this booklet is believed to serve as a reference for further use. This paper describes the development process and validation of the information booklet. This booklet was used during an intervention trial conducted in Nepal to educate abused pregnant women.Methods: This methodological study involved three stages: bibliographical survey, development of the booklet, and validation by specialists in the relevant fields and representatives of the target audiences. A total of eight experts, currently working in the field of domestic violence and/or midwifery, and 15 representatives of the target participants were involved in the validation process. A minimum Content Validity Index of 0.78 was considered for content validation, and minimum agreement of 75% for face validation.Results: The booklet presented a global Content Validity Index of 0.92. The overall level of agreement within the target participants was 86.3%, which was higher than the minimum recommended level. Both subject experts and participants positively evaluated the adequacy, coverage and readability of contents of the booklet.Conclusions: The booklet was validated using content and face validity. This validated booklet is expected to be an effective tool for communication that would help pregnant women cope better with domestic and family violence and adopt strategies to remain emotionally healthy.Keywords: Booklet; development; domestic violence; validation studies.

Objective. To determine the validity and reliability of the Treatment Adherence Questionnaire for Patients with Hypertension (TAQPH), Spanish version, designed by Chunhua Ma et al.Methods. This study was carried out in the city of Ibagué (Colombia)  and the test validation determined validity (face, content, and construct) and reliability. Face and content validity were conducted through expert judgment, using Fleiss’ Kappa Coefficient statistical tests and modified Lawshe’s content validity index. The construct validity and the reliability test had the participation of 220 people with diagnosis of primary hypertension. Reliability was calculated through Cronbach’s alpha statistical test.Results. In the face validity, the instrument reported a Fleiss’ Kappa index was 0.68 in comprehension, 0.76 in clarity, and 0.64 in accuracy, interpreted as a substantial agreement. The content validity index was satisfactory with 0.91; el exploratory factor analysis reported six factors with a total variance explained of 54%. Cronbach’s alpha for the total scale was 0.74.Conclusion. The Spanish version of the TAQPH is a valid and reliable scale to evaluate adherence to treatment in patients with primary hypertension.Descriptors: essential hypertension; treatment adherence and compliance; surveys and questionnaires; psychometrics; validation studies.How to cite this article: Esquivel N, Díaz LP. Objective: to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the Calidad de la relación con su persona cercana Scale into Brazilian Portuguese. Methods: a methodological study, whose steps were: initial translation; translation synthesis; back-translation; pre-final version development by a panel of nine experts; pre-final version content validity, with 14 judges; pre-test with 30 pregnant women; reliability analysis; sending the translated version to the two authors of the original instrument. Results: outliers were reviewed and adjusted during translation and adaptation. The scale achieved conceptual and idiomatic equivalence. Content validity index was 0.92 and Cronbach’s Alpha was 0.869. The general score in the application ranged from 59 to 124, with an average of 94.4. Conclusion: after translation and adaptation, the scale was entitled Qualidade da Relação com a Pessoa Próxima, achieving semantic and idiomatic equivalence.

<p><strong>Abstrak </strong></p><p>Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen<em> Microteaching</em> berkesesuaian dengan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang valid dan reliabel sehingga layak digunakan. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah <em>Research and Development</em> (R&amp;D) dengan mengikuti alur pengembangan ADDIE (<em>Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement</em><em>, and Evaluate</em>). Subjek penelitian yaitu 30 dosen dan 70 mahasiswa. Validitas instrumen menggunakan <em>Content Validity Index</em> dan <em>Face Validity</em> yang menunjukkan bahwa instrumen dinyatakan valid. Reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan koefisien interkelas korelasi pada merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran dan diperoleh nilai koefisien interkelas korelasi dengan kategori sangat reliabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan peserta <em>Microteaching</em> dalam merancang dan melaksanakan proses pembelajaran abad ke-21.</p><p> </p><p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p><em>The aim of this research was to develop Microteaching assessment instrument that are compatible with the 21<sup>st</sup>-century skill that is valid and reliable so that appropriate to use. The design of this research was Research and Development (R&amp;D) which refers to ADDIE </em><strong>(</strong><em>Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate</em><strong>)</strong><em>. The research subjects were 30 lecturers and 70 students. The validity of the instrument using the Content Validity Index and Face Validity showed that the instrument was valid. Instrument reliability was using the intraclass correlation coefficient in designing and implementing the learning process obtained result as very reliable. It can be concluded that the developed instrument was valid to be used in assessing participant’s Microteaching skills in designing and implementing the 21<sup>st</sup>-century learning process.</em></p>

Resumo Objetivo: Construir e validar álbum seriado educativo para gestantes que serão submetidas à cirurgia cesariana, acerca do posicionamento durante a raquianestesia. Métodos: Estudo metodológico realizado com a elaboração do álbum seriado, validação com 22 enfermeiros de centro cirúrgico, 22 anestesistas e 3 juízes da área de comunicação e posterior avaliação do material por gestantes. Utilizou-se o Level Content Validity Index superior a 0,8 para a validação de conteúdo e o teste binomial para verificação da proporção de concordância. Resultados: O álbum seriado possui 15 páginas, contém orientações sobre vantagens, desvantagens e posições para a raquianestesia. A média do Level Content Validity Index foi de 0,94 pelos enfermeiros, 0,93 pelos anestesistas e 0,97 pelos juízes da área de comunicação. Houve unanimidade pelas gestantes na aprovação do material. Conclusão: O álbum seriado foi construído e validado e pode ser utilizado pela enfermagem junto a gestantes que serão submetidas à cesariana sob raquianestesia. Abstract Objective: Construct and validate an educational flipchart for pregnant women who are to be submitted to a cesarean section on positioning during spinal anesthesia.

Objective. To determine the face, content, constructvalidity, and reliability of the functional social supportdomain of Perinatal Infant Care Social Support (PICSS)translated into Spanish and adapted for first-time mothersof term babies. Methods. Validation study of the functionalsocial support domain of PICSS, which has 22 itemswith response options from 1 to 4; higher scores indicategreater social support. A translation, back-translation, andcultural adaptation process took place along with an expertreview to evaluate face and content validity. In total, 210mothers participated to establish construct validity andthe reliability of the domain. The content validity index andfactor analysis were used to identify the structure of thedomain. Reliability was estimated using Cronbach’s alphacoefficient. Results. Linguistic and cultural adaptationswere performed, along with validation and reliability. Face validity for mothers was the following: high comprehension (94%); and forexperts: high comprehension (95.83%), high clarity (96.53%), and high precision(92.82%). In relevance and pertinence, the content validity index was high (0.97).Construct validation identified two factors that explained 76% of the variance of thedomain evaluated: factor 1 “Supporting presence -emotional and appraisal support”(13 items, 39%) and factor 2 “Practical support -informational and instrumentalsupport-” (9 items, 37%). Cronbach’s alpha value was 0.97. Conclusion. Given the robust psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the functional socialsupport domain of PICSS, this may be used to identify the functional social supportin the mothers.

ABSTRACT Objective: to build and validate the appearance of a digital educational technology to promote the mental health of school adolescents. Methods: methodological study, which included the elaboration and validation of the “Conect@dos com a S@ude” online course based on the Galvis-Panqueva methodological framework. The elaboration was based on a literature review and followed the Theory of Meaningful Learning. The validation was performed by a total of 21 adolescent students, using an instrument adapted for the study. A quantitative analysis was performed from the Content Validity Index and descriptive of the suggestions pointed out by the target audience. Results: the analysis of the Content Validity index ranged from 0.8 to 1 in all evaluated items. The adolescents presented some suggestions for improvement for the course, most of them were accepted. Conclusion: the course was validated by the target audience.

Objective: to validate the content and appearance of an educational manual to promote children’s mental health. Methods: this is a methodological study, in which 16 specialists (health and education professionals) and six of the target audience (nurses) participated. The Content Validity Index and the Agreement Index were calculated according to the response to the instrument, which assessed the objectives, appearance, structure, organization, relevance and didactics of the manual. Results: the Content Validity Index was 0.984 for the target audience, and the Agreement Index was 100.0%. The main changes were in the title, objectives and theoretical framework, excluding workshops and spelling and grammatical revision. Conclusion: the manual presented satisfactory Content Validity and Agreement indexes. It can assist nurses and other health professionals in promoting children’s mental health, promoting the development of emotional intelligence.

Fully automated vehicles hold promise for providing numerous societal benefits, including drastically reducing road fatalities. However, we know little about the adoption practices of individuals related to automated vehicles. To assess transportation users’ perceptions of automated vehicles, a 40-item survey was designed using guidance from several technology acceptance models. A focus group was used to assess face validity to ensure the items appeared credible and understandable to the layperson. Seven subject-matter experts rated items for their relevance to provide a content validity index for each item and for the overall survey. The final scale had a scale content validity index rating of 1.00, with 32 of 32 items rated greater than or equal to 0.86 and a scale content validity index of 0.96 (mean content validity index of all items), indicating acceptable content validity. The approach adopted in this study ensured the face and content validity of the survey and enhanced the items’ relevance, concision, and clarity. Future validation is required to assess scale reliability and validity. The paper provides an overview of models used for determining acceptance and adoption of technology and describes in detail the methodology used to establish face and content validity of the questionnaire survey developed for assessing adults’ perceptions of automated vehicles.

BACKGROUND: Internationally, many instruments have been designed to evaluate mental health knowledge; however, in pregnant women is very limited. AIM: Therefore, this study aimed to develop and validate a survey to measure the mental health knowledge of pregnant women. METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, 13 midwives attended the FGD and 10 pregnant women were invited for in-depth interviews to develop an item pool. The content validity was carried out by a panel of 6 experts. The face validity was performed with 5 pregnant women. Next, the construct validity test involved 150 pregnant women who were selected by stratified sampling from 13 public health centers in Surakarta, Indonesia. Analyses were conducted to check content validity, face validity, construct validity, internal consistency reliability, difficulty index, and exploratory factor analysis. RESULTS: A final 20-item Mental Health Knowledge Scale (MHKS) has a content validity index of 0.97 and a correlation value per item greater than the r-table (i.e., 0.1603). In addition, the MHKS has a Kuder–Richardson 20 reliability coefficient of 0.717. Furthermore, the difficulty index ranged from 0.39 to 0.82 which was considered in the good and acceptable category. Construct validity was confirmed using exploratory factor analysis KMO = 0.713, Bartlett’s test p < 0.001. CONCLUSION: Based on the findings, the final version of the MHKS was considered a valid and reliable tool. The instrument can be applied to measure the understanding of pregnant women about pregnancy depression. Further studies require adjustment items to other participants regarding mental health knowledge.

BackgroundThe Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) is a widely used instrument to measure anxiety and depression symptoms.AimsThis study aimed to translate, validate and test the applicability of the Urdu version of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS/UV) among pregnant women.MethodsThe original English version of the HADS was translated into Urdu by three bilingual experts and retranslated to English using the forward–backward approach. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of 200 pregnant women availing obstetrics and gynaecology services for routine prenatal check-ups of Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad, Pakistan. Psychometric properties of the instrument, including reliability (internal consistency, test–retest analysis and interitems correlation), were tested. Face and content validity were also assessed. Content Validity Index (CVI) was determined using the average approach and Item-Level Content Validity Index (I-CVI) and Scale-Level Content Validity Index (S-CVI) were calculated accordingly. Construct validity was examined through exploratory factor analysis.ResultsCronbach’s alpha coefficient has been found to be 0.82 for the anxiety subscale and 0.64 for the depression subscale, while overall alpha of the HADS/UV is 0.84. The Urdu version is content valid, and the S-CVI of anxiety subscale, depression subscale and HADS/UV are 0.947, 948 and 0.947, respectively. Test–retest reliability is 0.884 and 0.934 as measured by Pearson correlation and intraclass correlation, respectively. HADS/UV items correlated positively with the whole scale (p<0.001). Factor analysis with varimax rotation revealed that two factors explained 42.75% of the variance. Items’ distribution was quite similar to the original HADS.ConclusionThe HADS/UV is a psychometrically sound instrument with satisfactory measurement, including good internal consistency. The instrument shows promise to be a sound tool to assess anxiety and depression in pregnancy.
