Detecting references and similarities in music lyrics can be a difficult task. Crowdsourced knowledge platforms such as Genius. can help in this process through user-annotated information about the artist and the song but fail to include visualizations to help users find similarities and structures on a higher and more abstract level. We propose a prototype to compute similarities between rap artists based on word embedding of their lyrics crawled from Genius. Furthermore, the artists and their lyrics can be analyzed using an explorative visualization system applying multiple visualization methods to support domain-specific tasks.

Dynamic boundary condition (DBC) has been widely used in SPH method. However, in certain situations, it was found that a few fluid particles could break through the boundary or were not reflected specularly. Of course, these phenomena are unphysical. To improve the performance of DBC, an improved dynamic boundary condition (IDBC) was presented in this paper. To prevent fluid particles from breaking through the boundary, the repulsive force of boundary particles was enhanced by expanding the equation of state into a higher order. To deal with the asymmetry of DBC, a rectangular support domain attached to boundary particles and a corresponding correction factor are proposed. The results of three test cases showed that the performance of IDBC was satisfied.

Introduction. In the decision support domain, the practice of using information from user digital traces has not been widespread so far. Earlier, the authors of this paper developed a conceptual framework of intelligent decision support based on user digital life models that was aimed at recommending decisions using information from the user digital traces. The present research is aiming at the development of a scenario model that implements this framework. Purpose: the development of a scenario model of intelligent decision support based on user digital life models and an approach to grouping users with similar preferences and decision-making behaviours. Results: A scenario model of intelligent decision support based on user digital life models has been developed. The model is intended to recommend to the user decisions based on the knowledge about the user decision-maker type, decision support problem, and problem domain. The scenario model enables to process incompletely formulated problems due to taking into account the preferences of users who have preferences and decision-making behaviour similar to the active user. An approach to grouping users with similar preferences and decision-making behaviours has been proposed. The approach enables to group users with similar preferences and decision-making behaviours based on the information about user behavioural segments that exist in various domains, behavioural segmentation rules, and user actions represented in their digital life models. Practical relevance: the research results are beneficial for the development of advanced recommendation systems expected to tracking digital traces.

Abstract Nonlinear programming is a complex methodology where a problem is mathematically expressed in terms of optimality while imposing constraints on feasibility. Such problems are formulated by humans and solved by optimization algorithms. We support domain experts in their challenging tasks of understanding and troubleshooting optimization runs of intricate and high-dimensional nonlinear programs through a visual analytics system. The system was designed for our collaborators’ robot motion planning problems, but is domain agnostic in most parts of the visualizations. It allows for an exploration of the iterative solving process of a nonlinear program through several linked views of the computational process. We give insights into this design study, demonstrate our system for selected real-world cases, and discuss the extension of visualization and visual analytics methods for nonlinear programming. Abstract The use of mesh free methods, including the EFG method, raises a number of user issues. For the best possible result, the user must choose both the weight function and a series of parameters of the method used. This paper presents a part of the research undertaken by the authors to substantiate, on the basis of numerical experiments, some conclusions that will lead the user as quickly as possible to a more accurate result, which can be validated by analytical results and often by experiment. The numerical experiments performed by the authors are based on the use of their own program, made in Matlab, which allowed the use of many weighting functions, in different conditions established by choosing several values of the internodal distance and the size of the support domain. The numerical experiment is performed on a simple structure, widely used in the technical literature under the name Timoshenko beam, for which there are analytical (exact) solutions for both the displacements and stresses. The obtained results are presented in graphical and tabular form, with the highlighting of the errors compared to the exact solution. The final conclusions provide valuable information for practical work with the EFG method, which are also valid for the use of other meshless methods.

Teacher social emotional competence has been connected to literacy development as well as broader academic outcomes through the domains of Emotional Support and Classroom Organization of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). Despite these findings, teacher development has yet to place an emphasis on social emotional skill development in line with such research. Drawing on diffusion of innovations literature, the authors offer a conceptual model that ties teacher social emotional skill development directly to the instructional support domain of the CLASS, thereby increasing the compatibility of social emotional learning to teaching and learning outcomes, including literacy. The analysis identified perspective-taking and social cue recognition as key opportunities for instructionally-aligned teacher social emotional skill development. The authors make recommendations for methods to increase these skills for teachers.

An extended meshless method that relying upon Galerkin formulation is applied on the crack analysis of orthotropic functionally graded Brazilian disc. Weak form is involved to solve the governing equation in the numerical method. In addition, enrichment terms and sub-triangle techniques are applied to improve the accuracy of relevant results. This paper depicts the influence of variation in the crack stretch and non-homogeneity parameters on the values of stress intensity factors using a developed MATLAB program. In the isotropic case, it is clear that when the length of crack increases, SIF increases. Graduation in has more effect in increasing the values of SIF in corresponding increased crack length. The verification has been checked by changing the range of the J-integral domain and variation of the support domain.
