It is an undoubted truth that the system oftransportation planning is associated with the key parameters oftraffic safety. This focuses the implementation of designedpolicies and standards. The relationship between road trafficaccidents and applied infrastructure facilities is proportional. This imparts the available geometric design considerations, pavement structure, environmental, human and vehiclecontributory factors. Traffic accidents are also affected onvarious 24hrs timings of the day and classified as dawn, daylight, dusk and dark in different research studies. Each time of the dayhas its own characteristics featuring with the driverperformance, site detection, visual acquaintance and informationprovided for decision sight distance.Accidents occurring in various timings with respect to differenttypes of road users are presented in this research. Possible rootcauses with significant recommended measures are the extensivedimensions of this research study. On the whole, three years datarecord is utilized in the analytical part as well. For the sake ofreason, macro analysis tools and techniques are used in order tojustify the results. The results are also formulated highlightingresponsible factors and liaison with the accidents carried out inmorning and dark.

Every year we lose many young road users in road traffic accidents. Based on traffic accident data issued by the Indonesian National Police in 2017, the number of casualties was highest in the age group 15-19, with 3,496 minor injuries, 400 seriously injured and 535 deaths. This condition is very alarming considering that student as the nation's next generation lose their future due to the accidents. This figure does not include other traffic violations, not having a driver license, not wearing a helmet, driving opposite the direction, those given ticket and verbal reprimand. To reduce traffic accident for young road user, road safety campaigns were organized in many schools in Jakarta. This activity aims to socialize the road safety program to increase road safety awareness among young road users/students including the dissemination of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Another purpose of this program is to accompany school administrators to set up a School Safe Zone (ZoSS), a location on particular roads in the school environment that are time-based speed zone to set the speed of the vehicle. The purpose of this paper is to promote the road safety campaigns strategies by considering various campaign tools.

The needs of land transportation grows rapidly each year, along with the increasing population and mobility. It threatens the safety of road users if not handled appropriately. From 2015 to 2018 accidents in the city of Surakarta were relatively increased by the number of accidents in 2018 was 834 events. 55% of accident events caused by road users are not orderly. There is already handling done, but not effective. No one has overcome the blackspot with technology. Si Waja application is designed to reduce traffic accidents. Si Waja application serves to improve the driver's attention. The process of designing this application using methods of research and development. Application design Si Waja uses Android Studio integrated with Firebase. There are two tests conducted to test the Si Waja application Black Box Testing and Usability Testing. All elements in the application go well, evidenced by the Black Box Testing. This usability test uses the System Usability Testing (SUS) method which provides adequate results based on the consideration of small sample quantities, time, and cost. The SUS calculation result will be converted to certain values. This conversion result will give the app information that is made worthy or unfeasible to implement. From the 100 total value, Si Waja obtained 71,833, with index B. It means that this application is eligible to be applied in Surakarta.

Abstract For many years, buffers are playing an important role for protecting as well as exploiting urban streams environment. In 40s & early 50s Tehran with 5 urban streams which flow from northern mountains to southern deserts of the city had been created unique aesthetic nature. At that time no specific environmental regulatory implemented by the government but since lack of any disturbing population and any urban development, the urban nature was self protecting. But in recent decades a huge development occurs leading to impaired streams which no conventional buffers such as static quantitative buffer zone and qualitative buffer zone. This paper is deeply investigating ecological restoration and promoting a new conceptual model as ecological buffer zone for Urban Streams. This buffer is agile, dynamic, and variable in both stream directions (longitudinal and latitudinal) consist of many layers such as biological (both fauna and flora), geotechnical, artificial infrastructure buffer, legal, historical, social, economical and etc Layers. If this model properly implemented longtermly will protect current urban nature and even enhance the environment eventually, partially, and gradually reverse to their historical natures. Ecological should be tailored for each individual river and stream based on few rules, tools and techniques. The paper is based on three years extensive research study for all 5 major urban streams in Tehran and implementing on Farahzad upstream specifically. It elaborates how to define different above-mentioned layers and finally how to integrate all together. EB has been currently implemented in Tehran urban streams by the municipality.

Pedestrians are a part of vulnerable road users which safety requires a special attention. Official statistics in Estonia from the last decade returns the following numbers: around 30 % of all road traffic accidents in the country were accidents with pedestrians, 32 % of all traffic fatalities were finished with pedestrian death. Pedestrian crossing has the biggest risk level between all kinds of pedestrian facilities, because it includes a direct conflict point between vehicle and pedestrian traffics. The article presents a method to assess risk of pedestrian crossing users and to determine safety level of this road infrastructure element. This approach is based on observation and collection of infrastructural as well as traffic data, which includes: (1) information about each pedestrian crossing facility, its location and state, (2) data about accidents with pedestrians and their features, (3) data from road traffic measurements. The main advantages of the described method are universality and comprehensiveness. The case study was done in Kristiine district of the city Tallinn, which was chosen as the most typical average district of Estonian capital. Results of this study are also presented in the article.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/CIT2016.2016.4124

In the last few years, increasing attention has been provided to research Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) communication systems. These V2P systems serve different purposes (safety or convenience) and cater to different Vulnerable Road User (VRU) groups. Also, these V2P systems employ different communication technologies, and use different mechanisms to interact with the users. An effective V2P system also needs to consider varying characteristics of different VRUs. These various elements may be considered as design parameters of the V2P system. In this paper, we discuss such elements and propose a design framework for the V2P system based on them. We also provide an extensive survey of existing V2P efforts for safety and convenience applications and their design considerations. We perform a case study that compares the different approaches of V2P safety system for different VRU groups under different pre-crash scenarios. Finally, we discuss a few technological challenges in integration of VRUs into V2X systems.

The city of Surabaya is one of the major cities in Indonesia and is the capital of East Java Province, with a total population of 2,765,487 based on the Surabaya City Statistics Center 2018. With increasing population, ownership of private vehicles and activities on the highway will also increase. more dense and certainly can cause traffic accidents. The purpose of this research was to find out the characteristics of road users and the effect of the level of accidents on the road Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno Surabaya. The factors reviewed from this study are the characteristics of road users based on Age, Profession, Driver Factors, Vehicle Factors and Road Infrastructure Factors. To find out whether Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno is a road with a Black Spot area, so the Accident Rate method is used for this study to determine the accident rate based on the Black Spot area. From the results of accident analysis based on the characteristics of the road user Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno, the highest factor as the main cause of traffic accidents is caused by Drivers with speeding conditions and vulnerable drivers aged 16-30 years. And based on the accident rate method get the highest yield of 12.74 accidents / km. Year and included in the black spot area with an accident rate >1.0. The number of traffic violations and traffic accident victims on the road Dr. Ir. H. Vehicles that are non-roadworthy pose a hazard for all road users and can be one of the main causes of traffic accidents. Previous studies have analysed the impact of the driving style on environmental sustainability and road safety. Starting from this, there was a need to further investigate the relationship between the driving style and vehicle roadworthiness as well. Vehicles that do not comply with the prescribed requirements should be excluded from traffic at a periodic technical inspection. However, the causes of detected vehicle defects cannot be established at a periodic technical inspection. The paper therefore, examines the factors affecting vehicle roadworthiness. First, the failure rate and mileage of vehicles at periodic technical inspection regarding the type of ownership was examined. In addition, a questionnaire was conducted to collect data about the driving style and maintenance habits of different types of car owners. The paper argues that vehicles owned by legal entities were generally in a worse condition than the vehicles owned by natural persons, due to the increased vehicle exploitation, but also due to a more aggressive driving style. Finally, it was found that by modifying their driving style, the drivers can affect the condition of their vehicles, considering the same mileage and maintenance habits.
