The purpose of this research is to know whether there is a significant correlation between phonological knowledge and pronunciation ability. The method used in this research is correlation design. Variable X is the students’ phonological knowledge and variable Y is students’ pronunciation ability. Population of this research is all of the fourth semester students. There are 80 students as population and the writer took 20 students as the sample. The data are analyzed using Pearson Product Moment formula to know whether there is a correlation between phonological knowledge and pronunciation ability of the students. The result showed there is a correlation between phonological knowledge and pronunciation ability of the students. Based on the calculation that is obtained, rxy value from variable X and Y is 0,223. It is categorized as a low correlation. Whereas the result of the calculation use tcount formula. The tcount value is 1,002. It means that there is no a significant correlation between X and Y variable.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between students’ interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences and their English achievement. The design of this study was correlation design, and the sample of this study was 90 students which is consists of 140 populations. The sampling was taken by simple random sampling. Moreover, the instruments of this study were interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences. Based on the result of data computation, it showed that coefficient correlation of students’ interpersonal with (r= -.214).), indicates a low correlation, while students intrapersonal has the high correlation with (r=0.071). The result also shown that the significant value of each students’ interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligences had a significant correlation with their English achievement because its probability value (sig.2 tailed) 0.040 and 0.000 were higher than 0.05. so H1 is definitely accepted and H0 is totally rejected.

The conclusions from this study is the product design variable (X1) has a significant positive effect on purchase decision in Jati Jepara furniture at the New Furniture Business Shop in Lubuk Alung, as evidenced by t value > t table (10,400> 1,660) and a significant influence between price variables ( X2) purchase decision with t value> t table (2,015> 1,660). There is a positive and significant influence between product design (X1) price (X2), on purchase decision of Jati Jepara furniture consumers with an F-value 156,644> F- table (3,09) means that it affects together. The coefficient of determination (R²) results obtained a coefficient of 0.764 or 76.4%, while 23.6% is influenced by other variables. Keywords: Product design; prices; purchase decision.

The nursing of elderly in Tresna Werda X nursing home is mainly based on the workrout in and that the caregiver have not yet received training on the basic needs of the elderly that they should meet. Therefore, the researcher wanted to know the relations of the work culture of caregiver according to the elderly’s perception with the incidence of neglect in PSTW X West Sumatera. This study used Descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. The method of sampling used total sampling, which amounts to 75. The statistical test used chi square and logistic regression. The results of the study show that all of the elderly experienced neglect; there is a relation between attitude towards what is conducted, work environment, time with elderly neglect; no relation between behavior in making decisions with elderly neglect. The attitude towards what is conducted has the most impacton the incidence of elderly neglect. It is concluded that the caregiver should have a better understanding on their roles and functions as the caregivers to the elderly. The study investigates the perception of vowel length contrasts in Cantonese by native Mandarin speakers with varying degrees of experience in Cantonese: naïve listeners (no exposure), inexperienced learners (~1 year), and experienced learners (~5 years). While vowel length contrasts do not exist in Mandarin, they are, to some extent, exploited in English, the second language (L2) of all the participants. Using an AXB discrimination task, we investigate how native and L2 phonological knowledge affects the acquisition of vowel length contrasts in a third language (L3). The results revealed that all participant groups could discriminate three contrastive vowel pairs (/aː/–/ɐ/, /ɛː/–/e/, /ɔː/–/o/), but their performance was influenced by the degree of Cantonese exposure, particularly for learners in the early stage of acquisition. In addition to vowel quality differences, durational differences were proposed to explain the perceptual patterns. Furthermore, L2 English perception of the participants was found to modulate the perception of L3 Cantonese vowel length contrasts. Our findings demonstrate the bi-directional interaction between languages acquired at different stages, and provide concrete data to evaluate some speech acquisition models.
