This research was aimed to find out the effect of Verb Story game towards students’ motivation in learning grammar. The research was experimental research and the design that was used was post-test only design. The population of the study was the second grade students of MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro course which consisted of four classes. Two classes were chosen as the samples, those were MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro A Class as experimental group consisted of twenty four students and C Class as control group consisted twenty four students. They were chosen by using Simple Random Sampling technique. Experimental group was treated by Verb Story game and control group was treated by Verb Search game. The instrument that was used objective test and questionnaire in forms of multiple choices and matching word. Then, the scores were analyzed by using statistical analysis. It showed the mean score of experimental group was 73,16 while the mean score control group was 55,12 and the value of t (t test) = 3,537 was higher than the value of  (t table) = 2, 013 at the significance level of 5% and the number of degree freedom (46). Therefore, according to the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that it can be concluded that the use of verb story game is effective in learning grammar at second grade students of MTs Aunul Ibad NW Beroro and the result correlation between students’ motivation and grammar, it shows r-test (0,993) > r-table (0,404). Based on the result of the study, it can be conclude there is correlation between students’ motivation and grammar is accepted. In other word, alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.

This study was to find out the effectiveness of I challenge game in teaching grammar. This research was quasi experimental design. The population of this study was the second grade students of SMPN 2 Kediri which consisted of four classes. Two classes were chosen as the samples, those were VIII B Class as experimental group consisted of twenty six students and VIII D Class as control group consisted twenty five students. They were chosen by using simple random sampling technique. Experimental group was treated by I Challenge Game and control group was treated by Grammar Draughts Game. The instrument that was used objective test informs of multiple choices. Then, the scores were analyzed by using statistical analysis. It showed the mean score of experimental group was 67,04 while the mean score control group was 52,54 and the value of t (t test) = 1,716 was higher than  (t table) = 1.677 at the significance level of 0,05% and the number of degree freedom (df) 49. It meant that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accpeted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be calculated that I Challenge Game was effective in teaching grammar at the second grade students of SMPN 2 Kediri.

The subject of this research was the second grade of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang- sayang. The research was used experimental method with quantitative approach. The population of this research consist of 55 students, and the sample is 29 for experimental group while 26 for control group. The technique of collecting data was used definition for experimental group and matching word with antonym for control group. The data was collected by using post-test only and the data was analyzed by t-test formula. Based on data analysis the mean score of experimental group was 76,4 and control group was 69,23, beside of that standard deviation for experimental group was 114,28 and for control group was 113,09 and the value of t-test was 2,44 and t-table was 2,000. Degree of freedom is 53 with significant level 0,05. It means that the value of t-test was higher than t-table (t-test ˃ t-table). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Thus, the conclusion of this research was there was an effect of definition toward students’ vocabulary mastery: an experimental study at the second grade students of MTs NW Haqqul Yaqin Sayang-sayang.

The kind of this research was experimental research with pre test and post test design. The population of this research was the students at the second grade students of of MTs Al-Muslimun NW Tegal consist of 104 students. The sample of this research used two classes namely experimental group and control group where each group consisted of 26 students. The sample technique used in this research was cluster random sampling by using lottery. The experimental was taught by expand game and control group taught by puzzle game. The instruments that used were grammar test and questionnaire for the motivation. The data analyzed used t-test. The result of the analyzed showed that the value of to (t obtained) 3.50 was higher than tt (t table) 2.056, the significant level 0.05. Based on the result of the study, it could be concluded that the use of expand game effective in learning grammar at the Second Grade Students of MTs Al-Muslimun NW Tegal and the result correlation between students’ motivation and grammar showed r-test was higher than r-table (0.979 > 0.388). Based on the result of the study, it could be concluded that is correlation between students’ motivation and grammar is accepted. The aim of this research is to find out whether Categories Games is effective or not in teaching vocabulary to the second grade students of SMAN 1 Sikur. This research was True Experimental with posttest-only control design. The object of this research was second grade students of SMAN 1 Sikur. The total numbers of population were 150 students. The technique to take the sample was cluster random sampling, which took 40 students as the sample in this research. At the first time, the researcher gave Pre test to the experimental and control group. The second time, the researcher gave the treatment that used Categories Games in experimental group and Puzzle Game in control group, then the last, the researcher gave post test both of group. From the data is obtained, it found that T-test was 6,96 and t-table at significance level of 0,05 (95%) was 2,02. So it means that the score of t-test was higher than t-table (6,96 > 2.02). The alternate hypothesis (Ha), which used Categories Games in teaching vocabulary to the second grade of SMAN 1 Sikur was effective absolutely accepted. Meanwhile, the Null Hypothesis (Ho), which used Categories Games in teaching vocabulary to the second grade of SMAN 1 Sikur is not effective is absolutely rejected. Effectiveness of Categories Games was suitable for teaching vocabulary beside that practicable and applicable for English subject especially in teaching vocabulary

The aim of this study was to investigate whether or not there was any significant effect on the second grade students’ reading comprehension taught by using Big Books as teaching media. The design of this study used post test only control group of quasi experimental research. Therefore the population of this study was second grade students in south Bali. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The result of the data analysis showed that students in experimental group performed better than the students in control group. It was proven by the resultthat showed the mean score of the experimental group was 81.59 while the mean score of the control group was 73.64. The result of the t-test also showed the value of t-observed (tobs) was 3.009 and the value of t-critical value (tcv) was 2.018. It shows the value of tobs is higher than the value of tcv. Therefore, it could be concluded that there was significant effect of Big Books as teaching media on the second grade students’ reading comprehension in south Bali.

This study aims to find out whether there is a significant effect of applying audio-visual method on students’ Speaking achievement of second grade students at SMPN 2 Kendari or not. Population of this research is the entire second grade class in academic year 2017/2018 of SMPN 2 Kendari. The total numbers of the population are 280 students where class VIII B as experimental class  and VIII A as control class were chosen as the sample of this study used purposive sampling technique. This study applied quasi-experimental design which concerned on two groups; they are control group and experimental group. These two groups received a different treatment. The implementation of audio-visual method was applied on experimental class. The data which analyzed in this study was quantitative data; it gained from the pretest and posttest result of the two classes which analyzed using descriptive statistic and inferential analysis (Independent sample t-test). The result shows that the gain of the mean score of experimental class 1.76 is higher than the gain score of control class 0.57. It shows that teaching speaking by Audiovisual method in the experimental class has a better effect in enhancing students’ speaking achievement. Then the result of hypothesis testing showed that the value of  Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.044 which smaller than (<0.05). Hence, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which means that there is significant effect of Audiovisual method on students’ speaking achievement at eight grade of SMP N 2 Kendari. Keywords: Speaking, Audiovisual, Learning method
