Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam Penelitian Kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTSN 3 Rokan Hulu. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes GEFT (Group Embredded Figure Test) yang dikembangkan oleh Witkin dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa soal uraian. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, pemaparan data, analisis data pada kedua kelompok subjek dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan indikator dari Ennis yaitu merumuskan strategi, memberikan alasan, dan menyimpulkan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan gaya kognitif siswa mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis lebih baik daripada siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent. Kata Kunci : Berpikir Kritis, Gaya Kognitif Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze students' critical thinking skills in solving problems in terms of cognitive style. This research is included in the Qualitative Research with descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects of this study is eighth grade students of MTSN 3 Rokan Hulu. Data collection technique of this study is used the GEFT test (Group Embredded Figure Test) that developed by Witkin and the critical thinking ability test is a description item. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data exposure, data analysis in both subject groups and drawing conclusions. Analysis of critical thinking skills in this study uses an indicator from Ennis, which is to formulate strategy, give reason, and conclude. This study shows differences in students 'cognitive style give affect to students' critical thinking skills. The results showed that students with independent field cognitive style had better critical thinking skills than students with field dependent cognitive style.

The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of learning models to develop student critical thinking skills and retention in mathematics through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) models and multimedia assisted Direct Instruction (DI) models for students who have different cognitive styles. This research is quasi-experimental type, using non-equivalent control group design. Subject of this research are students in three different senior high school with two class samples in each school. There are 102 students of control class with Direct Instruction learning model by multimedia and 97 students of experiment class with Problem Based Learning model. The instrument of this research are test and questionnaires. The findings of this research are that there are significant differences in student critical thinking skills and retention between groups of student with Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI) cognitive styles and also between group of student with Direct Instruction model and Problem Based Learning model. Each learning model has interaction with critical thinking skills but not student retention. This research is useful for educators to develop students critical thinking skills processes with an effective learning model approach especially for senior high school students. The educators can know the interaction of cognitive styles with student retention, the extent to which cognitive styles are able to have an impact on student retention. This research provides knowledge an effective learning model to develop critical thinking skills and retention of student both Field Dependent and Field Independent cognitive style. Based on cognitive style, Field Independent students have higher retention and critical thinking skills compared to Field Dependent students.

The quantitative study is aimed to know whether documentary films can be applied to foster students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted in Class X SMA Negeri 10 Sidenreng Rappang, with a total population of 72 students. Samples were drawn from the entire population by taking 2 classes, namely X IPA as an experimental group of 26 students and X IPS as a control group of 25 students. Data were collected through a critical thinking ability test instrument based on critical thinking indicators, then processed with data analysis using the Mean score (average) and SPSS 2.0. Results of the study showed that the experimental group, which were taught to use the documentary, obtain average value is higher compared with the controls group in fostering the ability to think critically, especially on the subjects of Indonesian with developing materials with the opinion of exposition text. Average score results in critical thinking skills with a documentary film is 91.76 with the results of a significant test of the test independent of 10.878 while the average score of the results that are taught without using documentary 70.84 with value significant 2.009. Based on the results of data analysis, this present study ascertained that documentary films could foster students' critical thinking skills.

One of the competencies or learning goals in the 2013 curriculum is to promote curiosity, creativity, and the ability to arranging problem to build critical thinking which are necessary for intelligent life. However, in reality, students's critical thinking skills in mathematics are still not satisfactory. Mathematic’ material and critical thinking skills are two things that cannot be separated because mathematics material can be understood through critical thinking which is trained through learning mathematics. Learning number patterns aims to equip students to think critically, analyze, creatively, logically, and systematically. Students' critical thinking skills have related to the existence of cognitive aspects like how to complete a task, make procedures design, and be able to give the right solution in solving problems. This study aims to understand how students of junior high school solve math problems with number pattern material reviewed from students's critical thinking with Field-Dependent (FD) and Field-Independent (FI) cognitive style. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method with case study design. From the results of study conducted on 14 students, there were 64% students in the Independent field category and 36% students in the Dependent field category. Of the 2 students, among them taken in the Independent field category, they have high-level critical thinking skills and medium-level critical thinking skills. There are 2 students among those taken in the Dependent field category have critical thinking skills on medium level and low level.

The purpose of this research are to knowing the differences of critical thinking skills using interactive module photoelectric effects  with printed module, describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills after the interactive module is applied, describe science process skills in students who use interactive module of photoelectric effects, and knowing student responses to the use interactive module of photoelectric effects. The study was conducted in Natar 1 Public High School, in the even semester 2018/2019 academic year with research design nonequivalent control group design.The research instrument used was a questionnaire (questionnaire), Student Worksheet (LKPD) along with observation sheets and test questions. Data collection techniques were carried out by test techniques, questionnaires and LKPD contents. The data analysis technique of critical thinking ability is done by normality test, homogeneity test and N-gain. The data analysis technique of science process skills is done by calculating the average grade of the class then adjusted to the index classification table of science processes. Hypothesis testing is done by Paired Sample T Test and Independent Sample T Test. The results of the study show that (1) the application of the photoelectric effect interactive module is able to improve students' critical thinking skills, this is seen from the N-gain value and paired sample t test results, 2) there are significant differences in critical thinking skills between students who use interactive modules with printed modules, this is seen from the differences in the n-gain values of both classes and the results of the independent sample t test, (3) the value of students' science process skills is 82.6 with a high category, and (4) students gave a positive response to the utilization of the photoelectric effect interactive module.

This research was conducted to identify and describe prospective teachers’ critical thinking skills profile as readiness to face the industrial revolution 4.0. This research was a descriptive research. Research subjects were  chemistry education students who are prospective chemistry teachers. The instruments used in this study were the Critical Thinking Ability Test and Critical Thinking Ability Questionnaire. The instrument used is valid and reliable. The results of the study showed that the critical thinking skills of prospective chemistry teacher students are still in sufficient criteria with average score 46,7. It was also found that students' critical thinking skills in 5th  semester  were better than those in semester 3rd and 1st with average score 57,46 and 41. This result was also supported by differences in student performance for each indicator of critical thinking skills. Chemistry students show better performance on indicators of building basic skills compared to other critical thinking skills indicators. Meanwhile, the indicators on building strategies and tactics of chemistry education students still showed  poor performance than other indicators. This needs to be improved immediately in order to prepare prospective chemistry teachers who are ready to compete in facing the industrial revolition 4.0. Improvements can be made by designing learning methods, teaching materials and evaluation tools that can improve students' critical thinking skills.Keywords: critical thinking skill, education 4.0., prospective chemistry teachers, revolutioanl industry 4.0ABSTRAK.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan profil keterampilan berpikir kritis calon guru kimia sebagai kesiapan dalam menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian merupakan mahasiswa pendidikan kimia yang merupakan calon guru kimia. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kuisioner keterampilan berpikir kritis. Instrumen yang digunakan sudah valid dan reliabel.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis calon guru kimia masih berada pada kriteria cukup yaitu dengan skor rata-rata 46,7. Selain itu juga ditemukan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa semester 5 lebih baik dibandingkan semester 3 dan semester 1 dengan skor rata-rata masing-masingnya yaitu 57, 46 dan 41.  Hasil ini juga didukung dengan adanya perbedaan performa mahasiswa untuk masing-masing indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis. Calon guru kimia menunjukkan  performa yang lebih baik pada indikator membangun keterampilan dasar dibandingkan dengan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis lainnya. Sementara itu, pada indikator membangun strategi dan taktik calon guru kimia masih menunjukkan performa yang kurang baik dibandingkan dengan indikator yang lainnya. Hal ini perlu segera diperbaiki guna mempersiapkan calon guru kimia yang siap bersaing menghadapi era revolusi industri 4.0. Perbaikan dapat dilakukan dengan cara merancang metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar dan alat evaluasi yang dapat mengasah keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Kata kunci: calon guru kimia, keterampilan berpikir kritis, pendidikan 4.0, revolusi industri 4.0

This study aims to produce a science module based on mobile-collaborative-based science learning (m-CBSL) with the topic of temperature and heat and describe the resulting module's validity and practicality. The research design was Educational Design Research (EDR). The data collection techniques used were literature study, walkthrough, interview, and questionnaire. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire of validity and practicality. Data analysis techniques include descriptive data analysis, validation sheets, and questionnaires. Module validation sheets were given to 5 validators. In contrast, practicality sheets were given to 9 students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Banjarmasin (small group) and 62 students and three science teachers at SMP Negeri 6 & 12 Banjarmasin field test. The validity questionnaire analysis results concluded that the validity of the module was 3.71 "very valid" categories. The practicality level based on the teacher's questionnaire scored 87.04 in the "very practical" category. The small group questionnaire scored 85.19 in the "very practical" category, and the field trial questionnaire scored 86.42 in the "very practical" category. It means that the m-CBSL based science module is valid and practical in the learning process to improve critical thinking skills and collaboration.

This study aims to produce science learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective which consists of syllabus, lesson plan, teaching material, student activity sheets, and test sheets to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary students. This research was carried out using the 4-D model of adaptation Ibrahim, M., which is define, design, developing, disseminate and tested in class V of Jiken Elementary School, Kedondong I Elementary School, Sudimoro Elementary School, school year 2019/2020 with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results shows: 1) valid, according to the validity of the three validators with valid categories, 2) practical, in accordance with the level of observers seen from the activity of students increasing at each meeting and implementation of RPP, 3) effective, seen from appearing significantly different from the pretest and posttest test students' critical thinking and positive student responses. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of science learning tools oriented in guided inquiry is valid, practical, and effective for improving critical thinking skills of elementary students.

The essence of mathematics learning is the ability to solve math problems. Differences in ability, one of which is the suspect cognitive style. Based on the cause of the necessary mathematical problems of the students, cognitive style consists of a type of reflection and impulsive. So that the focus of this research is to analyze students' critical thinking skills in solving mathematical problems based on different types of reflective and impulsive cognitive style. Causal-comparative studies are needed to analyze the problem. The population of this study is composed of students of class VII SMPN 1 Susukan Cirebon. While the sample search uses the intentional sampling technique with the number of research samples 31 students. The technique of data collection using the Cognitive Style TMF test (correspondence familiar figures Test) and description Test (essay) Mathematics of critical thinking. The hypothesis test used is the t-test (T-test for independent samples). The results of the research show that the distribution of cognitive styles of students at SMPN 1 Susukan Cirebon, dominated by reflective-type cognitive style students (74% of students), while a small part of the students type of impulsive cognitive style (26% of students ). Critical thinking ability of reflective type students of cognitive style is better than the type of impulsive cognitive style students
