Pada umumnya, dalam pembuatan tape para produsen tape masih menggunakan cara manual sehingga kualitas tape sering mengalami prubahan hal ini disebabkan karena ada beberapa faktor yaitu kondisi suhu, ragi yang dibutuhkan serta kadar alkohol yang terkandung dalam tape untuk menentukan tingkat kematangan tape. Permasalahan yang dialami produsen tape dapat dilakukan suatu pengendalian rancang bangun sistem dalam proses fermentasi dengan menggunakan 3 buah sensor. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode fuzzy tsukamoto. Penelitian skripsi ini  bertujuan proses fermentasi dapat di lakukan secara otomatis  dengan merancang bangun suatu sistem kendali pengontrol suhu, kadar alkohol  dan persbandingan ragi yang di gunakan. Pengontrolan sistem alat ini dilakukan oleh mikrokontroler ATMega 16 mempunyai 3 input berbentuk sensor DHT11, sensor MQ-3 dan input berbentuk sensor load cell, sensor  DHT11 ini akan mendeteksi suhu, sedangkan sensor load cell mendeteksi berat singkong  yang berada dalam inkubator dan ditampilkan pada LCD dan  untuk sensor MQ-3 dapat menentukan kematangan tape. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ragi yang baik untuk digunakan fermentasi adalah 4 gram persatu kilogram singkong. Hasil rancang bangun alat ini lebih efisien  58.29% dari pada fermentasi secara manual.

This study aims to create a system that can monitor gas cylinders where this device consists of two systems, the first is a system to measure the weight of 3kg LPG gas cylinders to find the remaining gas which will then be displayed on the LCD, and the second the system gives a notification (alarm) if there is a gas leak via SMS. This system consists of Arduino UNO Microcontroller components, Load cell Sensor, MQ-6 Sensor, and SIM800L GSM Module. For overall system testing, the load cell sensor system can display a percentage of the weight value obtained an error rate of 0%, this indicates that the formula used in the program runs according to what is desired. In the MQ-6 sensor system can make the buzzer on at a value >= 700 ppm, the results of the buzzer can live when the detected gas value >= 700 ppm, this is as desired. In the sim800L gsm module system can send leak notifications, the results obtained that the module can send SMS notifications. And the system turns on the buzzer when the LPG gas has reached the minimum limit, the results obtained by the buzzer will sound when the remaining gas value <= 16%. Based on tests conducted on this system the system can measure the desired weight of the cylinder to look for the remaining gas in the form of a percentage and detect a gas leak and then send an SMS notification.

Kebutuhan manusia semakin lama semakin meningkat, berkembang dan bervariasi, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut industri membutuhkan suatu alat yang dapat mengontrol dan mengendalikan proses permesinan secara otomatis. Diantaranya industri yang memerlukan pengendalian kualitas secara otomatis adalah industri makanan dan minuman instan. Di Indonesia, industri minuman didominasi oleh hasil olahan minuman instan bubuk dan cair. Salah satunya minuman instan kopi, minuman kopi membutuhkan beberapa tahap pengolahan, salah satu yang terpenting adalah proses pemutuan biji kopi. Saat ini industri masih menggunakan tenaga konvensional yang memakan waktu, biaya, tenaga operator. Penentuan mutu dengan cara seperti ini mempunyai kelemahan dari sisi subyektivitas yang memungkinkan terjadinya kesalahan akibat kelelahan mata manusia terhadap contoh yang dianalisis. Untuk menanggulangi masalah tersebut perlu adanya mesin pemutuan biji kopi dengan sistem otomasi berdasarkan parameter besar dan kecilnya biji kopi. Dengan cara menghitung banyaknya biji kopi pada sampel 300 gram biji kopi. Penyelesaian rancang bangun ini dilakukan dengan 2 tahapan yaitu perancangan konveyor sabuk dan perancangan otomasi. Perancangan konveyor sabuk pemilah terdiri dari pemilihan konsep, desain rinci menggunakan aplikasi Solidwork dan proses pembuatan berdasarkan desain. Selanjutnya, perancangan otomasi menggunakan mikrokontroller Arduino Uno, sensor load cell dan sensor FC-51. Setelah peralatan sudah dipasang semua selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian didapatkan dari 300 gram biji kopi terhitung jumlah biji kopi yang bervariasi yaitu 907, 954, 976, 1007, dan 1036 biji kopi. Kemudian, ketinggian sensor yang optimal 6 cm dari permukaan belt conveyor dan kecepatan conveyor 1,52 m/menit agar pembacaan sensor FC-51 akurat.

The design and application of sensing antenna devices that mimic insect antennae or mammal whiskers is an active field of research. However, these devices still require new developments if they are to become efficient and reliable components of robotic systems. We, therefore, develop and build a prototype composed of a flexible beam, two servomotors that drive the beam and a load cell sensor that measures the forces and torques at the base of the flexible beam. This work reports new results in the area of the signal processing of these devices. These results will make it possible to estimate the point at which the flexible antenna comes into contact with an object (or obstacle) more accurately than has occurred with previous algorithms. Previous research reported that the estimation of the fundamental natural frequency of vibration of the antenna using dynamic information is not sufficient as regards determining the contact point and that the estimation of the contact point using static information provided by the forces and torques measured by the load cell sensor is not very accurate. We consequently propose an algorithm based on the fusion of the information provided by the two aforementioned strategies that enhances the separate benefits of each one. We demonstrate that the adequate combination of these two pieces of information yields an accurate estimation of the contacted point of the antenna link. This will enhance the precision of the estimation of points on the surface of the object that is being recognized by the antenna. Thorough experimentation is carried out in order to show the features of the proposed algorithm and establish its range of application.

In view of the problem of e-commerce scams and the absence of haptic interaction, this research aims to introduce and create a tele-weight device for e-commerce shopping in smart cities. The objective is to use the proposed prototype to provide a brief overview of the possible technological advancements. When the tele-weight device is affixed over the head-mounted display, it allows the user to feel the item’s weight while shopping in the virtual store. Addressing the problem of having no physical interaction between the user (player) and a series game scene in virtual reality (VR) headsets, this research approach focuses on creating a prototype device that has two parts, a sending part and a receiving part. The sending part measures the weight of the object and transmits it over the cellular network to the receiver side. The virtual store user at the receiving side can thus realize the weight of the ordered object. The findings from this work include a visual display of the item’s weight to the virtual store e-commerce user. By introducing sustainability, this haptic technology-assisted technique can help the customer realize the weight of an object and thus have a better immersive experience. In the device, the load cell measures the weight of the object and amplifies it using the HX711 amplifier. However, some delay in the demonstration of the weight was observed during experimentation, and this indirectly altered the performance of the system. One set of the device is sited at the virtual store user premises while the sending end of the device is positioned at the warehouse. The sending end hardware includes an Arduino Uno device, an HX711 amplifier chip to amplify the weight from the load cell, and a cellular module (Sim900A chip-based) to transmit the weight in the form of an encoded message. The receiving end hardware includes a cellular module and an actuator involving a motor gear arrangement to demonstrate the weight of the object. Combining the fields of e-commerce, embedded systems, VR, and haptic sensing, this research can help create a more secure marketplace to attain a higher level of customer satisfaction.

Nowadays, many researchers are involved in studies aimed to the explanation of some peculiar aspects regarding manufacturing processes. In this paper, an experimental campaign was carried out in order to reproduce tube extrusion starting from a cylindrical billet. In particular, the development of a proper equipment is presented: the aim was to measure both the total load, by using the testing machine load cell, and the local pressure value on the porthole. The latter task was carried out performing a proper system based on the use of a small load-cell. The tube was extruded with a good surface quality and the external area does not show any welding line evidence. Pure Lead was used for the experimental analysis; this material was chosen due to its high ductility which allows to carry out the process at room temperature. The material was characterized by compression tests at different strain rates and the obtained material law was used to perform a numerical analysis using SFTC Deform 3D numerical code. The Numerical analysis was carried out to show both the advantages and drawbacks of the modern FE codes when extrusion processes are investigated.

Inductive Sensor for Weighing of Mass A new method measuring of mass in electronic system of scales has been described. The main element of this system is inductive measuring load cell, which was compared with strain gauge load cell. The aim of the paper is described advantages of the inductive measuring system of mass and explain some main problems of this system. Digital correction of the mechanical errors of the beam like: hysteresis, creep material of the beam under constant load, influence of ambient temperature was described.

A method of obtaining freight car truck loading data utilizing a strain gaged truck bolster as a load cell is described. Analysis necessary to derive both the magnitude and location of the line of action of the freight car body vertical load resultant is presented. Techniques for cycle counting applicable to fatigue studies are suggested. Sample data from actual service testing are presented.
