With the aim to solve the problem of missing or tampering of ship type information in AIS information, in this paper, a novel ship type recognition scheme based on ship navigating trajectory and convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed. Firstly, according to speed and acceleration of the ship, three ship navigating situations, i.e., static, normal navigation and maneuvering, are integrated into the process of trajectory images generation in the form of pixels. Then, three kinds of modular network structures with different depths are trained and optimized to determine the appropriate convolutional neural network structure. In the validation phase of the model, a large amount of verified data with a time span of one month was used, covering a variety of water conditions including open water, ports, rivers and lakes. Following this approach, a kind of CNN scheme which can be directly used to identify ship types in a wide range of waters is proposed. This scheme can be used to judge the ship type when the static information is completely missing and to test the data when the ship type information is partially missing.

Many existing websites use recommendation systems for their users. They generate various offers for them, for example, similar products or recommend the people registered on this site with similar interests. Such referral mechanisms process vast amounts of information to identify potential user preferences. Recommendation systems are programs that try to determine what users want to find, what might interest them, and recommend it to them. These mechanisms have improved the interaction between the user and the site. Instead of static information, they provide dynamic information that changes: recommendations are generated separately for each user, based on his previous activity on this web resource. Information from other visitors may also be taken into account. The methods of collecting information provided by the Internet have greatly simplified the use of human thought through collaborative filtering. But, on the other hand, the large amount of information complicates the implementation of this possibility. For example, the behavior of some people is quite clearly amenable to modeling, while others behave completely unpredictably. And it is the latter that affect the shift of the results of the recommendation system and reduce its effectiveness. An analysis of Internet resources has shown that most of the recommendation systems do not provide recommendations to users, and the part that does, for example, offers products to the user, selects recommendations manually. Therefore, the task of developing methods for automated generation of recommendations for a limited set of input data is quite relevant. The problems of data sparseness, new user problem, scalability of the widely used SVD algorithm for the development of such recommendation systems are proposed to be eliminated by improving this algorithm by the method of the nearest k-neighbors. This method will allow you to easily segment and cluster system data, which will save system resources.

Abstract With the wide use of automatic identification system (AIS), a large amount of ship-related data has been provided for marine transportation analysis. Generally, AIS reports the type information of ships, but there are still many ships with type unknown in AIS data. It is necessary to develop algorithms which can identify ship type from AIS data. In this paper, we employ random forest to classify ships according to the static information from AIS messages. Moreover, the importance of static features is discussed, which explains the reason why some classes of ships are misclassified. The method of this paper is proved to be effective in ship classification using static information.

In the thesis the formation of information competence of future interpreters’ in professional training as a pedagogical problem has been considered; the psychological and pedagogical aspects of formation of information competence of future interpreters’ have been clarified; the tasks and problems of forming the information competence of future interpreters in the professional training have been determined and substantiated. It was found that the creation of an interactive educational environment is a transition from static information websites to dynamic, involving the use of multimedia simulators for learning, simple learning modules, complex distribution learning systems, e-course courses, open portal boards for members of the learning community and parents, interuniversity training courses. This interactive approach is relevant for the formation of information and communication competence of future specialists of Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus, Zhytomyr State University named after Ivan Franko, National Pedagogical University named after MP Drahomanov, Khmelnytsky National University, which provides inclusion of all departments of the university in partner relations with the administration, students, teaching staff, teachers of schools in cities and regions, public organizations with the help of ICT. The results of this study are directly relevant in establishing international cooperation in the study of programs and projects in the context of transforming the education system in accordance with international partnership standards and implementing a cultural exchange program in education and culture between countries.

AbstractCulture learning is complicated in teaching English as an international language (EIL), given the global contexts in which English is being used for various purposes. This study aims to examine cultural representations in four series of high school English language textbooks distributed in China and Germany. It categorized cultures into four cultural types and four cultural elements within each type of culture in order to question the breadth and depth of cultural representations. The findings indicate that China’s English textbooks seem to balance among different cultures, but they still present factual knowledge and static information. The underlying value orientations are therefore underestimated. Germany’s English textbooks encompass the majority of contents about the target culture and put the emphasis on students' multicultural perspectives, communicative competence and intercultural skills. Thus, target cultures dominate cultural contents and source cultures are rare in Germany’s textbooks. Lastly, the findings are discussed and some recommendations for textbook writers and English teachers are suggested.

The design and application of sensing antenna devices that mimic insect antennae or mammal whiskers is an active field of research. However, these devices still require new developments if they are to become efficient and reliable components of robotic systems. We, therefore, develop and build a prototype composed of a flexible beam, two servomotors that drive the beam and a load cell sensor that measures the forces and torques at the base of the flexible beam. This work reports new results in the area of the signal processing of these devices. These results will make it possible to estimate the point at which the flexible antenna comes into contact with an object (or obstacle) more accurately than has occurred with previous algorithms. Previous research reported that the estimation of the fundamental natural frequency of vibration of the antenna using dynamic information is not sufficient as regards determining the contact point and that the estimation of the contact point using static information provided by the forces and torques measured by the load cell sensor is not very accurate. We consequently propose an algorithm based on the fusion of the information provided by the two aforementioned strategies that enhances the separate benefits of each one. We demonstrate that the adequate combination of these two pieces of information yields an accurate estimation of the contacted point of the antenna link. This will enhance the precision of the estimation of points on the surface of the object that is being recognized by the antenna. Thorough experimentation is carried out in order to show the features of the proposed algorithm and establish its range of application.

The article is devoted to conducting a study on the influence of various sociological, economic, environmental and other factors on the state of the incidence and spread of coronavirus in the world. The authors proposed a scheme for obtaining information from Internet resources with the possibility of conducting a correlation analysis of data on the causes, rates and scale of the pandemic, and the factors affecting its spread. The introduction shows the relevance of the topic, carried out a detailed analysis of Internet resources. The systematization of the data placed in them has been carried out, the necessary conclusions and conclusions have been drawn. The website coronavirus-monitor.ru was selected as a source of statistical information. As a toolkit, it is proposed to develop the Coronavirus Stat program, which is necessary to view statistical data on a PC offline and carry out calculations to test hypotheses about the influence of external factors on the spread and course of COVID-19. The authors considered in detail the methods of obtaining information from Internet sources, their advantages and disadvantages, the method of automatic search with the development of their own version of the parser was chosen. Requirements for the selection of factors for correlation analysis and testable hypotheses are formulated. Examples of testing hypotheses with the presentation of graphs of dependences of the number of cases on various factors and correlation fields are given. A detailed description of the developed program, consisting of the frontend part of the program, a parser for obtaining new information, a database for storing old information, files for storing static information, is carried out. Requirements for the parser are formulated, a block diagram of its algorithm is presented. The requirements taken into account in the development of the program are shown and examples of its work are given. Testing of the program was carried out by conducting experiments to test the hypotheses put forward. The results of the experiments are summarized in the table. In conclusion, conclusions are drawn on the further use of the developed program.

The system of professional training of officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is meant to ensure the competence of a specialist and his high professional readiness for implementing the law-enforcement functions by means of a deep theoretical training, practical orientation of the training process, and introduction of students to values of the profession. The primary focus is on the formation of students’ competencies at all levels, which act as an important guide for organizing the activities of managers and teachers, as well as the desired result of mastering the content of education, which is shown in the ability to apply variably formed knowledge and skills depending on the situation. Professional readiness, in addition to the accumulated competencies and practical experience in their application, includes a personal component that characterizes the officer’s attitude towards the processes and phenomena, formed through the perception of professionally and personally important information, understanding of an environmental context, development of his attitude towards the phenomena of society in the process of the reflexive activity. The teacher’s function is transformed from an active translator of professionally significant information into a subject supporting accumulation of the personal experience in a planned person-centered environment that provides for a partner model of cooperation and reflexivity of relations between the subjects of joint activity. The goal of the research is to analyze the methodological basis of the process of professional becoming of officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and to identify significant characteristics of the process of planning the educational environment based on pedagogical support in the formation of personal experience. Such methods as a comparative analysis of methodological approaches in organizing the person-centered education, the study of independent characteristics, search of static information, method of expert assessment were applied. The methodological approaches in organizing the professional becoming of a specialist have been studied, the role of pedagogical support in the professional becoming of a specialist has been substantiated; the relations between the effectiveness of professional development and organization of pedagogical support of this process have been detected.
