The argument of Kindellan and Kotin's essay, ‘The Cantos and Pedagogy’, is that, contrary to the prevailing critical view, The Cantos is not a pedagogical poem. More specifically, they argue that the poem rejects the idea that a methodological approach to knowledge is desirable. The Cantos is obsessed with who we are, not what we can learn. Put otherwise, the horizon of Pound's concern in The Cantos is ontological, not epistemological. Charles Altieri, Alan Golding, Marjorie Perloff, and Steven G. Yao and Michael Coyle challenge this claim. The range of their replies demonstrates the breadth of the problem at hand. They all construe The Cantos as embodying an alternative pedagogy rather than, as Kindellan and Kotin argue, an alternative to pedagogy.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to identify the opportunities and challenges teach environmental education in the school Geography using the critical approach. Several didactic procedures can be used with students for work the differents points of view about environmental education. Despite the organizational and structural's troubles that affecting educational institutions, the environmental education in geography can be used to solution and to minimize socio-environmental troubles. Lined in interdisciplinary and considering the good applicability of geographical knowledges and the theoretical-methodological approach based on criticality, this teachers 'posture allows that students have a comprehensive training and a critical view about the social-environmental issue. This paper deals with the intercultural sensitivity of professors of Educational Sciences at the University of Malaga (Spain). The methodological approach of the study was qualitative, and the research techniques for data collection were in-depth interviews. The main technique for analyzing the information was content analysis. The results of the study show that the majority of university teachers identify interculturality as a value and a pedagogical proposal of great importance. Thus, there is a need to promote intercultural competences and a critical view of culture. In conclusion, the study highlights the existence of difficulties in developing interculturality, which requires a change towards comprehensive training and education in values in the university context.

Abstract. TV news are essentially cultural phenomena. Previous research suggests that the often-overlooked formal and implicit characteristics of newscasts may be systematically related to culture-specific characteristics. Investigating these characteristics by means of a frame-by-frame content analysis is identified as a particularly promising methodological approach. To examine the relationship between culture and selected formal characteristics of newscasts, we present an explorative study that compares material from the USA, the Arab world, and Germany. Results indicate that there are many significant differences, some of which are in line with expectations derived from cultural specifics. Specifically, we argue that the number of persons presented as well as the context in which they are presented can be interpreted as indicators of Individualism/Collectivism. The conclusions underline the validity of the chosen methodological approach, but also demonstrate the need for more comprehensive and theory-driven category schemes.

To forecast time series data, two methodological frameworks of statistical and computational intelligence modelling are considered. The statistical methodological approach is based on the theory of invertible ARIMA (Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average) models with Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimating method. As a competitive tool to statistical forecasting models, we use the popular classic neural network (NN) of perceptron type. To train NN, the Back-Propagation (BP) algorithm and heuristics like genetic and micro-genetic algorithm (GA and MGA) are implemented on the large data set. A comparative analysis of selected learning methods is performed and evaluated. From performed experiments we find that the optimal population size will likely be 20 with the lowest training time from all NN trained by the evolutionary algorithms, while the prediction accuracy level is lesser, but still acceptable by managers.

The article presents a methodological approach to studying iterative processes in the school course of geometry, by the example of constructing a Koch snowflake fractal curve and calculating a few characteristics of it. The interactive creative environment 1C:MathKit is chosen to visualize the method discussed. By performing repetitive constructions and algebraic calculations using ICT tools, students acquire a steady skill of work with geometric objects of various levels of complexity, comprehend the possibilities of mathematical interpretation of iterative processes in practice, and learn how to understand the dialectical unity between finite and infinite parameters of flat geometric figures. When students are getting familiar with such contradictory concepts and categories, that replenishes their experience of worldview comprehension of the subject areas they study through the concept of “big ideas”. The latter allows them to take a fresh look at the processes in the world around. The article is a matter of interest to schoolteachers of computer science and mathematics, as well as university scholars who teach the course “Concepts of modern natural sciences”.

The article develops methodological approach to the analysis of groups of interests’ influence on the choice of Russia’s development strategy. It is possible to pass on to the analysis of specific issues of economic policy by forming several sub-groups in every "analytical" group. The article also considers the structure of Russian economy which was formed as a result of transformational crisis’ influence on Soviet economy, and relevant international comparisons. Main alternative ways of transition to innovational development are the renewal of Soviet "triangle economy" (the scenario "Mobilization") and complex institutional changes (the scenario "Modernization").

The author analyzes Keynes-Tinbergen controversy in the context of Keynes’ methodological ideas, which he thinks are fully opposite to the methodology of modern economic theory. Using different Keynes’ papers the author considers this difference in detail and shows its links to the critical view held by Keynes towards econometrics
