This article explores the issues of hybridity and its impacts and bearing to identity crisis in relation to kinship practices among the Euro-Asian families in Malaysia. To demonstrate the empirical and scientific nature of this study, qualitative methods were used whereby respondents were interviewed either face to face interview or through audio interviews. Furthermore, focus Group Discussion and empirical observation were fully utilized to obtain and analyzed for both quality and logical conclusion. Indeed, the data from the field demonstrate that the offspring of mixed marriages had either conscious identity crisis, unconscious or denied identity crisis or no identity crisis due to factors such as religion, socializing, education, and exposure by parents. Thus, the majority of the research respondents identified themselves based on “Others” but there are complexities to this when it comes to formal and informal identification.Keywords: Family, hybridity, identity crisis, kinship, mixed-marriages

<p><em></em><em>The religious counselor has an important role in society as an agent of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia in transforming community. However, in the reality, as a community motivator, its class is far less important than the private motivators such as Mario Teguh, Abdullah Gymnastiar and his ESQ method, Christian Andrianto, Hermawan Kartajaya,Gede Prama, Krisnamurti, Guenta K., Andrie Wongso and so forth. This is a qualitative research using an in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation and document study in collecting data. The results show: the first, the religious counselor developed a face to face model for their communication with their clients which is to some extent less sophisticated. In addition, this method does not follow people’s needs and development of technology. Furthermore, they are mostly working with religious group, except some religious counselors in Manado who tried to enhance their work into wider society </em></p>

This research is talking about the study of Teungku Chiek Dirundeng which discussed about his life history and his influence in the education world. Teungku Chiek Dirundeng is one of the theologians or ulama who has been developed human civilization and human education by using dayah. This study used qualitative methods This research used qualitative method, it told about his history, his birth and his influence toward educaton. The data collected through interviews, observation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The findings of this study were Teungku Chiek Dirundeng was a theologian who had appellation name “Teungku” and he was an aristocrat who had appellation name “Teuku”. On the other hand, Teungku Chiek Dirundeng was also known he was very generous figure. The generosity meant that he had donated and granted his treasures for communities or umat needs. Furthermore, his influence in education world, he had built many boarding schools or dayah in Aceh. Particularly in Meukek, Labuhan Haji and Rundeng.


Research on wakaf-zakat housing provision is a cross-disciplinary. It involves an area of study under religion and the built environment by wakaf-zakat and housing, respectively. , A combination of these two areas of study, requires a well-defined research methodology that the paper evaluates the suitability of qualitative methods to achieve the stipulated research objectives. Consequently, attainment of each research objective through specified methods is explained either by way of interview, case-study, observation and focus-group-discussion. Insequent, after an extensive literature review was conducted, the instrument for data collection was instituted. It was piloted through a focus-group-discussion (FGD), and the amendments to the instrument was made accordingly. Then, the data collection was done through case-studies and observations of wakaf-zakat housing projects as well as interviews. Experts in religious studies and the built environment were selected for the above FGD and interviews. The data collected was critically analysed by way of content analysis. The outcome of the analysis was presented to the experts again for validation. For FGD and interviews, the purposive sampling with a high degree of respondent selection criteria is adopted. Overall, the study found that those qualitative methods are suitable to achieve the stipulated objectives for wakaf-zakat housing provision research

ABSTRACT The current study aims to explore the students’ preferences on face to face corrective feedback vs online corrective feedback in ESP class. It is an attempt to investigate if they prefer to be corrected directly face to face by teachers or they like to be provided online corrective feedback by the teachers. To do so, a questionnaire was distributed to a group of students who are taking English for Specific Purposes and also focus group discussion was used in order to find out their beliefs toward their corrective feedback preferences. Totally, 50 students who were taking ESP courses at State Polytechnic of Subang participated in this study. The results from the questionnaire analysis revealed that the students preferred their teachers to use face to face corrective feedback, with an overall mean (x̄ = 3,95) in learning effectiveness, (x̄ = 4,12) in learning accuracies, and (x̄ = 4,02) in learning experiences. The focus group discussion revealed the students’ beliefs in their corrective feedback preferences, they believed that the teachers should be able to guide their learning, use communicative ways, and encourage them by using their learning preferences. The study suggested that taking these preferences into consideration could help students to increase their confidence in learning English. Computer-Mediated Communication supports verbal and nonverbal communication in online reality same with face-to-face communication. Verbal elements in communication include words spoken while nonverbal elements include paralinguistic. Paralinguistic cues used in social media might help the receiver in the delivery process but also might cause miscommunication. This study aims to investigate the use of paralinguistic cues by students of Program Study Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran and how is miscommunication on social media. This is a qualitative study based on case study method. Primary data collected through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the students of Program Study Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran class A and B of class 2015. Triangulation was done by theories triangulation. The results show Paralinguistic cues used by students of Program Study Communication Sciences Universitas Padjadjaran include orthography, vocabularies, and graphic paralinguistic, while grammar and content and text are seldom used. Meanwhile, the common miscommunication usually done is lurking. This study might give contribution to the nonverbal communication feature developers on social media.Abstract in Bahasa IndonesiaKomunikasi bermedia komputer (CMC) mendukung komunikasi verbal dan non verbal dalam realitas online. Elemen verbal dalam komunikasi adalah kata-kata yang diucapkan, sedangkan elemen nonverbal mencakup paralinguistik atau paralanguage. Penggunaan paralinguistik ini dinilai akan mempermudah penerimaan pesan oleh penerima pesan, namun tidak jarang penggunaan paralinguistik juga menimbulkan miskomunikasi diantara mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan melalui Focus Group Discussion dengan dua kelas, yaitu Kelas A dan B angkatan 2015 Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran. Triangulasi dilakukan dengan triangulasi teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Paralinguistik yang sering dipergunakan oleh Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran mencakup orthograpi, kosa kata dan paralinguistik grafis, sedangkan tata bahasa, konten dan teks jarang dipergunakan. Sementara itu miskomunikasi yang biasanya dilakukan adalah lurking. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan komunikasi nonverbal di media sosial.

Berbagi Pengetahuan (knowledge sharing) tidak hanya dapat diterapkan pada organisasi yang berkecimpung di lingkup bisnis, namun juga dapat diterapkan pada dunia pendidikan misalnya di perguruan tinggi dan disadari atau tidak sebenarnya knowledge sharing memang telah diterapkan pada perguruan tinggi salah satunya adalah knowledge sharing antar mahasiswa. Dengan menerapkan knowledge sharing bisa jadi para mahasiswa mendapakan pengetahuan yang memang sudah ada bahkan bisa mendapatkan pengetahuan baru yang belum pernah diketahui oleh mahasiswa-mahasiswa tertentu. Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai bagaimana penerapan knowledge sharing antar mahasiswa yang terjadi pada mahasiswa-mahasiswa program studi Teknik Informatika (TI) STMIK GI MDP. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah melalui wawancara dan melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) yang ditujukan terhadap mahasiswa – mahasiswa program studi Teknik Informatika STMIK GI MDP. Melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa selama ini mahasiswa melakukan knowledge sharing melalui media elektronik dan melalui tatap muka langsung. Selain itu dapat diketahui penghalang-penghalang dalam menerapkan knowledge sharing.Knowledge sharing is not only applicable to business in organizations but also can be applied to education, for example in college. Realized or not, knowledge sharing is already applied like knowledge sharing among students for example knowledge sharing between a students by other students or knowledge sharing between students and lecturer . By applying knowledge sharing, students can get new knowledges that is useful for their study even can make innovation. This research will discuss how the implementation of knowledge sharing among students which occurs in the course students of Teknik Informatika (TI) in STMIK GI MDP Palembang. The data collection in this research use interviews and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with students of Teknik Informatika (TI) in STMIK GI MDP. By this research can be known that students do knowledge sharing by electronic media and by face to face. Moreover to known barriers in implementation knowledge sharing among students which occurs in the course students of Teknik Informatika (TI) in STMIK GI MDP Palembang.

Salah satu habitat gajah yang masih tersisa adalah Kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser (TNGL), terutama di wilayah Besitang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi karakteristik sosial ekonomi, kepemilikan lahan, pemetaan wilayah dan mitigasi konflik manusia dengan gajah di Resort Besitang, TNGL. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner, wawancara dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Analisis data menggunakan tabel frekuensi dan analisa deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wilayah yang memiliki potensi konflik gajah di Resort Besitang adalah Daerah Halaban, Aras Senapal, Sekundur, Bukit Selamat dan Bukit Mas dengan intensitas konflik rendah sampai tinggi. Penyebab utama konflik manusia dengan gajah adalah fragmentasi kawasan hutan,  ketidakpastian status lahan di daerah penyangga, pertumbuhan penduduk yang tinggi dan meningkatnya pendatang di wilayah Besitang, perambahan dan ilegal logging yang terus terjadi, minimnya kesadaran masyarakat dan peranan lembaga desa dalam mendukung konservasi gajah. Rekomendasi resolusi mitigasi konflik gajah diantaranya: 1) memperbaiki habitat gajah yang sudah terfragmentasi di dalam kawasan TNGL; 2) meningkatkan peran Tim CRU (Conservation Response Unit); 3) membentuk unit reaksi cepat penanganan konflik gajah dengan melibatkan para pihak; 4) menanam jenis tanaman yang tidak disukai dan dijauhi oleh gajah; 5) mereduksi ketergantungan masyarakat akan sistem pertanian yang membutuhkan lahan yang luas; 6) mengembangkan program untuk membantu peningkatan hasil panen; dan,  7) penyuluhan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman bahwa gajah merupakan bagian dari ekosistem yang harus lestari.   Kata kunci: gajah, konflik, habitat, Besitang, Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser

Perkembangan Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di era globalisasi, demokratisasi dan desentralisasi sudah menjadi kebutuhan sekaligus tantangan khususnya bagi pemerintah daerah dalam komunikasi pembangunan untuk pelayanan publik dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif studi kasus, dengan pengumpulan data melalui dokumentasi, wawancara, pengamatan dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Subjek penelitian dipilih secara purposif yaitu pemerintah daerah di Eks-KaresidenanBanyumas Jawa Tengah, akademisi dan civil society. Penelitian dianalisis dengan analisis interaktif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpuan dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Pentingnya komunikasi pembangunan dengan media teknologi informasi dan komunikasi melalui e-Government untuk meningkatkan pelayanan publik yang baik, cepat dan responsif, adanya partisipasi aktif dari publik dan transparansi baik anggaran serta program pembangunan. (2) Perlunya mengantisipasi adanya kesenjangan teknologi informasisehingga membutuhkan peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia di pemerintahan daerah dan publik, serta memperluas fasilitas akses jaringan informasi.Kata kunci: komunikasi pembangunan, pelayanan publik, partisipasi, teknologi informasi, transparansi

Tindak tutur komisif merupakan salah satu aspek pragmatik yang harus diperhatikan oleh penerjemah ketika menerjemahkan teks. Hal itu dilakukan agar menghasilkan terjemahan yang berkualitas dari aspek keakuratan dan keberterimaan. Berdasarkan alasan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan mendiskripsikan tingkat keakuratan dan keberterimaan terjemahan kalimat yang mengakomodasi tindak tutur komisif dengan pendekatan pragmatik. Data yang digunakan ialah tuturan komisif dan hasil penilaian kualitas terjemahan. Data bersumber dari novel Insurgent karya Veronica Roth dan informan. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara analisis dokumen, kuesioner dan Focus Group Discussion. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan cara analisis domain, taksonomi, komponensial, dan tema budaya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjemahan dalam novel Insurgent mempunyai nilai keakuratan dan keberterimaan yang cukup tinggi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat keakuratan dan keberterimaan pada setiap jenis tindak tutur komisif memiliki dampak terhadap kualitas keseluruhan terjemahan kalimat yang mengandung tindak tutur komisif.Commissive speech act is one of the pragmatic aspects to regard by the translator in translating the text. It aims to produce a qualified translation in regarding accuracy and acceptability aspects. According to the aspects, this research aims to describe accuracy and acceptability of translation in sentences which accommodate commissive speech act using pragmatic approach. The data used is commissive speech and qualitative translation value result. The sources of the data are an Insurgent novel by Veronica Roth and informants. The data were collected through document analysis, questionnaire, and Focus Group Discussion then analyzed the domain, taxonomic, componential analysis, and cultural theme. The result shows that translation in the Insurgent novel has high accuracy and acceptability values. This research concludes that the accuracy and acceptability level in each commissive speech act has an impact on quality of whole translated sentences which contain commissive speech act.

Perencanaan pengembangan uji kompetensi perawat Indonesia akan dikembangkan  dengan metode OSCE.. Pelaksanaan uji OSCE membutuhkan persiapan yang matang, terutama kesiapan sumber daya manusia (SDM) dalam hal ini adalah dosen untuk melaksanakan uji OSCE. Mengetahui kesiapan SDM dalam pengembangan uji OSCE di Prodi D3 Keperawatan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Cilacap. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus. Informan penelitian adalah 6 orang dosen dan Kepala Program Studi D3 keperawatan. Data diperoleh melalui, focus group discussion, wawancara mendalam dan studi dokumentasi. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan constant comparative method. Penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan dosen tentang OSCE dan kompetensi berdasarkan pendidikan memenuhi persyaratan untuk pengembangan uji OSCE, namun masih membutuhkan pelatihan mengenai OSCE. Uji OSCE dapat diselenggarakan dengan melibatkan dosen dari prodi lain karena jumlah dosen di Prodi D3 Keperawatan  STIKES Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Cilacap belum memenuhi kebutuhan pelaksanaan uji OSCE. Hambatan penyelenggaraan OSCE adalah SDM belum terkoordinasi, belum terlatih dan keterbatasan sarana pendukun. Pengetahuan dan kompetensi dosen berdasarkan tingkat pendidikan memenuhi syarat dalam pengembangan OSCE dan OSCE dapat diselenggarakan dengan melibatkan dosen prodi lain.
