By paying attention to CSR, the company is not only oriented to the finance of the corporate (single bottom line), but also focuses on the balance between financial aspects, social aspects and environmental aspects (triple bottom line). The synergy of these three keys is the concept of sustainable development and community empowerment . This study has three aims. First, to describe and analyzed the regulation of CSR in companies engaged in natural resources. Second, to describe and analyzed the innovation of CSR strategies used by PT. Tirta Investama Danone Aqua in Empowering the communities in Kanagarian Batang Barus Kayu Aro. Third, to describe and analyzed the factors that hamper the development of CSR strategy by PT. Tirta Investama danone Aqua. This study uses an empirical juridical research method to see how the company engaged in natural resources apply the strategies and principles of Corporate Social Responsibility in realizing the community empowerment around the company. The final result that will be achieved is the CSR program by PT. Tirta Investama Kayu Aro will have a better focus on the community development and suistanable environmental development.  The implementation of CSR strategic are taken by PT. Tirta Investama Danone Aqua Plan Solok. The implementer of the program entrusted to The Indonesian Family Planning Association (PKBI) in West Sumatra Province. This institution shall be responsible in conducting the CSR strategies in the society and community located around the company location.

The key objective of this paper is to present the dimensions and the characteristics of an airport enterprise management engagement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). By analyzing different strategies and plans towards CSR, applied in a sample of 15 European airports, the comprehensiveness is defined, providing the assessment framework of the airports CSR effectiveness and efficiency. Conventional wisdom is to provide a CSR assessment framework applied on airport industry. The methodology based on the competitive analysis framework, driven by benchmarking analysis applied to a group of European airports engaged in different CSR strategies. Defining the key actions of the airports CSR strategy, an assessment framework to review how this strategy meets social goals is developed. The airport strategy is reviewed considering the aviation business characteristics such as, traffic and regional GDP. Based on data collected from 15 busy European airports, the comprehensiveness of CSR strategy for this business sector considering stakeholders’ theory is investigated. The outputs provide key messages to decision makers, managers, and stakeholders towards CSR comprehensiveness of the airport operators.


After an accident or illness, returning to work can be difficult or even impossible. Although Occupational health and safety (OHS) is an important and central element of Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and is included in all international CSR frameworks and standards as well as in most CSR strategies of companies, in the event that an employee becomes ill or has an accident and then needs support in returning to work or vocational rehabilitation, it is rarely a part of CSR strategies. Vocational rehabilitation as an element of CSR has also received little attention in the literature so far. The aim of this study is therefore to examine whether and to what extent vocational rehabilitation and also the employment of people with disabilities are taken into account in the popular CSR frameworks and standards. The research is based on a comprehensive search of published peer-reviewed literature. For the in-depth analysis, the most popular CSR frameworks, guidelines, firms' rating indices, management systems and certification schemes were selected and evaluated, using deductive content analysis. The results of the analysis show that although OHS is a central topic in all international CSR frameworks and standards, vocational rehabilitation and the employment of people with disabilities, or rather disability in general, are not taken into account. The conclusion suggests that the promotion of vocational rehabilitation and the employment of people with disabilities can be substantially promoted by implementation and consideration in CSR frameworks and standards. Irrespective of this, the implementation of vocational rehabilitation and the employment of people with disabilities as part of the CSR strategy and its implementation in business practice should be further investigated.

ABSTRACTCommunity-based ecotourism is one of the efforts of rural development through the tourism sector, which not only presents natural tourism resources, but also contributes to environmental conservation, and the community as the main controller in its development. Rejowinangun Tourism Village is a village with a lot of potential and began to be developed as an ecotourism area, but still has many problems, both from the environmental aspects, management aspects, to aspects of human resources, so that tourism activities in the region have not developed. Therefore, a study is needed to analyze the potentials of community-based ecotourism development in Rejowinangun Tourism Village, and to achieve these objectives, an analysis is conducted on all aspects, namely analysis on aspects of tourist objects and attractions,social aspects, management aspects, up to aspects of organizing community empowerment. In collecting data, the method used is community participatory. In this method the community is the central focus and the ultimate goal of the activity, citizen participation will increase citizens' self-esteem and the ability to be able to participate in the mission concerning the community and village. Kampung Wisata Rejowinangun  merupakan  kampung dengan banyak potensi  dan mulai  dikembangkan  sebagai  kawasan  ekowisata,  namun  masih  memiliki  banyak  permasalahan,  baik  dari aspek  lingkungan,  aspek  pengelolaan,  hingga  aspek  sumberdaya  manusia,  sehingga  aktivitas  wisata  di kawasan tersebut belum berkembang. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan suatu kajian untuk menganalisis potensi-potensi pengembangan ekowisata berbasis masyarakat  di Kampung Wisata Rejowinangun, dan untuk  mencapai tujuan tersebut,  dilakukan  analisis  pada  semua  aspek,  yaitu  analisis  pada  aspek  objek  dan  daya  tarik  wisata,  aspek kemasyarakatan,  aspek  pengelolaan,  hingga  aspek  penyelenggaraan  pemberdayaan  masyarakat.  Dalam pengumpulan data, metode  yang  digunakan  adalah  partisipatoris masyarakat. Di dalam metode ini masyarakat adalah fokus sentral dan tujuan terakhir kegiatan, partisipasi warga akan meningkatkan harga diri warga dan kemampuan untuk dapat turut serta dalam keutusan yang menyangkut masyarakat dan kampung. In recent years, attention has been increasingly paid to social-, environmental-, and ecology-related issues in the areas of diverse business operations. The concept of sustainable development of enterprises is an attempt to integrate a diverse set of requirements for the development of companies in the long-term future. The concept, which is set in a contradictory context of economic, social, and environmental aspects, is an attempt to balance fundamentally divergent requirements and aspirations. Sustainable enterprise development can be a source of competitiveness, provided the opportunities related to it are identified and implemented in a proper way. The research objective of this study is to diagnose the relationship between the company’s orientation towards the implementation of sustainability assumptions, the degree of implementation of the objectives of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, as well as the creation of value in a sustainable enterprise. The survey was conducted on a sample of 165 FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) sector enterprises. The results indicate the existence of a positive correlation between the variables analysed in the surveyed enterprises. Entrepreneurs guided by sustainable development pursue economic and non-economic values and have a more comprehensive set of appropriate measures necessary to create value in a sustainable enterprise, which consists of achieving economic, ecological, and social goals.

In line with the recent tendencies of limited natural resources, demographic development, dematerialization, and digitalization, this chapter underlines the necessity of deepening the role information and communication technologies (ICTs) play for corporate social responsibility (CSR) challenges. In fact, due to the diffuse integration of ICT into most of people's and firms' daily activities, companies cannot neglect the role of ICT in shaping CSR strategies. Hence, ICT has the potential to support the three main aspects of sustainable development—people, profit, and planet—which can be found in the so-called triple bottom line approach (TBL). However, the role of ICTs in supporting the shear zones between the abovementioned lines still counts a lack of contribution. Through a systematic analysis of the literature, the chapter affords insights for a further advance compared to the extant literature as the content analysis provides a description of how ICT support the sub-dimensions included in the three shear zones.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a very popular concept that hits the headline recently, companies face the obligation, not only to maintain their viability to ensure the sustainability of their business by continuing to create value, but to adopt a mode of governance that combines interests of all stakeholders. A CSR strategy is becoming more and more an obligation than just a wise choice. The strong involvement of Moroccan companies in CSR strategies is not by coincidence; but fits perfectly into the Kingdom's strategy, which adheres to the principles of sustainable development and CSR, for a sustainable economy and an inclusive growth. The purpose of this empirical study is to examine the shareholder’s engagement and the degree of involvement in CSR strategy, of a sample of 45 Moroccan companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange and belonging to all sectors other than banking, insurance and equity investments, that claim to be socially responsible, through an analysis of the redistribution of their created value towards five categories of primary stakeholders, that are: lenders of funds, customers, suppliers, shareholders and employees.

Lean manufacturing has had a significant impact both in academia and in the industrial environment in recent decades showing the power of eliminating waste. In addition to this vision of resource optimization, sustainability has recently ceased to be seen only from the perspective of the environment and has also added concern with social and environmental aspects. Currently, there is increasing pressure on companies to manage their operations responsibly in relation to their environmental and social impacts, motivating companies and researchers to identify ways to implement sustainable operations. Studying the relationship between lean manufacturing and sustainability seems to be a tangible way to answer the question of how to integrate and, therefore, implement these two initiatives together. Starting from a systematic literature review on lean manufacturing methodology and triple bottom line sustainability concepts (TBL) in their social and environmental aspects, the objective of this research was to evaluate how the implementation of lean manufacturing methodology impacts the sustainability strategy of companies in the automobile sector in the state of São Paulo whose manufacture is based on rubber processing. For this purpose, multiple case studies were carried out. Thus, based on the analysis of the data obtained , it was possible to verify that there is a great contribution of the lean manufacturing methodology in the companies’ sustainability strategy , mainly in the economic and social aspects, however, the contribution within the environmental aspect was not unanimous

Work enables participation in society. However, people with disabilities are particularly often affected by unemployment and thus by social exclusion. The social inclusion of people with disabilities, by promoting employment, can only be achieved by companies themselves. Deliberately employing people with disabilities, therefore, represents an important social responsibility of companies towards society. Evidence from the literature shows that corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, as well as social inclusion, are more than just a commitment and can bring various benefits to a company. The aim of the present study is therefore to analyse the case for promoting the employment of people with disabilities to show whether and to what extent social inclusion as part of the CSR strategy can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of companies. The topic is viewed and analysed from different perspectives, using five dedicated journal papers, mainly based on qualitative data. The results reveal first insights as well as trends and tendencies and provide a basis for subsequent studies. They show that social inclusion as part of the CSR strategy can increase a company's competitiveness and business performance, presumed the company succeeds in creating a corporate culture that accepts and promotes social inclusion on one hand and creates awareness for CSR initiatives among stakeholders on the other. Simultaneously, governmental frameworks that respond positively to and expect sustainable development or social inclusion can provide additional and significant support to these concerns. Due to the limited literature and research on the subject, further research is necessary. In particular, there is a lack of best practice approaches on how social inclusion can be promoted in companies and implemented in CSR strategies.


Multinational profit-making organizations are expected to carry out their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) in order to protect the environment and the safety of people living in the surrounding of their plants. The main aim of this study was to explore the CSR practices of a multinational brewery company in Ethiopia, Heineken brewery, with specific reference to the brewery plant in Kilinto. The researcher explored the CSR practices with respect to Elkington’s CSR triple bottom line and a specific focus on the people and planet perspectives. Relevant literature was reviewed to describe multinational company's CSR practices in developed and developing country's perspectives. The qualitative research method was used in the study with a Case study approach since this research is about a specific case in a specific company. Semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis were used to collect data. The qualitative content analysis method was used to analyze the qualitative data and describe the meaning. The researcher examined the data in a systematic way in relation to the research questions reducing the data by coding and categorizing to draw meaning. The findings indicate that Heineken lacked balanced CSR practice in its environmental and social CSR practices. Though the company took part in some philanthropic CSR activities, its CSR approach was short term and reactive instead of being proactive. Heineken’s CSR strategy needs modification to customize its global CSR strategies into local contexts to solve local problems. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended that Heineken needs to make improvement in its CSR to sustainably address environmental and social needs with stronger community engagement and communicating its CSR efforts through effective PR practice.

In recent years there has been greater concern among companies to include responsible practices in their goals. To achieve this aim, companies are beginning to manage economic, social and environmental factors following socially responsible practices. Adopting a strategy of Corporate <br />Social Responsibility (CSR) may influence the different policies implemented by the company, one of which is that regarding innovation.  In this study, we analyze the opinions of 95 European companies, 42 of which form part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and 53 of which belong to the Dow Jones General Index (DJGI), concerning their CSR policy, the innovation carried out and the relation between the two concepts. Our results show that the DJSI companies, unlike those belonging to the DJGI, consider their CSR strategy to be a key factor in generating competitive advantages and profits. Moreover, the companies surveyed have implemented innovations that are more incremental than radical, and these innovation practices are found to be influenced by CSR strategies. <br /><br />
