The article discusses the possibilities of using geoportals as the main source of open digital cartographic data for the development of spatial thinking and skills among students. Insufficient attention is paid to the development of spatial thinking skills among students. Definition of the concept "geoportal" is given. An analysis of a number of regional geoportals in terms of their content with spatially distributed natural resource data is made as well as the variety of tools provided for working with these data. Conclusions about geoportal recommended for use by students to consolidate their skills in working with geospatial data are made.

The primary goal of this study is to establish the mechanism for a benchmark evaluation of the natural resource conditions of the Bighorn Basin prior to 1983. To accomplish this goal, the principal obectives of this investigation are two fold: 1. By means of literature and computer searches and extensive personal communication with key personnel of a variety of agencies, institutions, and other entities, systematically locate and establish the sources, nature, and availability of both quantitative and qualitative data from the Bighorn Basin in Wyoming dealing with: a. aquatic and riparian habitat; b. land and water uses; c. wildlife and fishery resources; and d. water resources. 2. Compile, categorize and key-word bibliographic information reviewed under Obective No. 1, and enter these data onto a computerized bibliographic storage and retrieval system compatible with the University of Wyoming's Cyber System.

The 2017-2027 US National Academy of Sciences Decadal Survey for Earth Science and Applications from Space classified mass change as one of five designated observables having the highest priority in terms of Earth observations required to better understand the Earth system over the next decade. In response to this designation, NASA initiated multi-center studies with an overarching goal of defining observing system architectures for each designated observable. Here, we discuss the progress made and future plans for the Mass Change Designated Observable study. Progress includes the development of a Science and Applications Traceability Matrix (SATM), the definition of three different architectural classes that are responsive to the designated science objectives, and a framework to quantitatively link the performance of specific architectures to the SATM. We will describe the Value Framework that has been developed to assess the value of potential architectures in terms of science return, cost, risk, and technical maturity. Results highlight the recommendation of satellite-satellite-tracking for the MC observing system, and have identified high value variants as a single in-line pair, dual in-line pairs, and pendulum architectures, which are similar to architectures studied by potential international partners. The current status of the study process, and future plans will be discussed.

The article presents the results of the specifics of the activity and professional competence of a specialist in the field of education-a counselor working with a permanent children’s team. The article reflects the results of the conducted research on the definition of the space of professional activity of a counselor working with a permanent children’s team and the allocation of methodological competence as one of the key professional competencies of him as a specialist working with a permanent children’s team. The author of the article conducted a comparative analysis of the formation of the methodological competence of a counselor working with a permanent children’s team on the example of the competitive materials of the participants of the All-Russian Competition of professional Skills “League of Counselors” and identified the key professional deficits of the formation of the methodological competence of counselors. Based on the study of training programs for counselors working with a permanent children’s team, presented in the open access, methodological recommendations for optimizing the system of training counselors working with a permanent children’s team and developing their methodological competence are formed.
