Aim: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a PowerPoint Presentation in Up-grading the knowledge and awareness towards infant oral health care among expectant mothers. Methods: This was a cross sectional survey conducted in various maternity hospitals throughout Jaipur city, India. A 15 minute PowerPoint Presentation based on infant oral health care was presented to a total of 120 expectant mothers. The participants were made to fill a 15-point questionnaire on the same subject before and after the presentation. Based on a formulated scoring criterion, the knowledge and awareness level of each participant was quantified pre-intervention and post-intervention. The data thus obtained was analysed using descriptive statistics and chi square test, with the level of significance set at P<0.05. Results: There was a very high statistical difference (p=0.000) between the mean scores of the participants before and after the presentation, from 5.55 to 13.96 out of a maximum possible score of 15. The range of scores improved from 0-14 pre-presentation to 9-15 post- presentation. A significant improvement was seen in the mean scores of every socio- demographic group (p=0.000). A relatively high number of participants (85.8%) agreed that the presentation would change how they care for their child in the future. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of audio-visual aids is beneficial in improving the knowledge and awareness towards infant oral health care among expectant mothers. Further research can be conducted to evaluate different designs of various audio-visual aids and their long-term efficacy catering to different socio- demographic groups. Service Activities Dental and Oral Health Care is part of the School Dental Health Enterprises (UKGS) which aims to improve the knowledge, attitude and the ability to behave in the field of healthy living oral health. These activities include outreach, shared toothbrushes and dental examinations, but oral health care has no knowledge, so the researchers are interested to know the difference before and after the service activities of oral health care on knowledge, attitude, oral health status elementary students. The purpose of this research is to know the difference before and aftercare service activities against oral health knowledge, attitudes, and oral health status of elementary school students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the design of One Group Pre-test - Post-test Design. The population in this study were elementary school students in the area of ​​Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta with a sample of 179 students. Sampling techniques using saturation sampling. Results: Based on the analysis of different test (paired sample t-test) showed significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, oral hygiene, decay and Decay students between the before and after care service oral health (p<0.05). Conclusions: 1). Knowledge, attitude and degree of oral hygiene students after health care services increased oral better 2). There was a decrease in rate-test decay (teeth better ) and Decay (permanent teeth ) on the student after the service of oral health care.

Objectives. The purpose of this pilot study was to assess the knowledge and awareness of dental students with respect to oral health care of the person with special health care needs (SHCN) and evaluate effectiveness of an education program on improving their knowledge.Method. An evaluation consisting of a questionnaire was answered before and immediately after a 30-minute educational presentation in the form of a DVD that includes a PowerPoint and a video of oral health care for individuals with SHCN. The questionnaire was based on the materials and information presented in the DVD and included 26 questions (true/false/I do not know).Results. The mean (±SD) score on the pretest was 10.85 (±5.20), which increased to 16.85 (±5.47) on the posttest. This difference was statistically significant (P<0.001). Forty percent of the students surveyed reported that they were very satisfied with the educational part of the presentation, while 50% were somewhat satisfied. Thirty percent of students expressed that the educational intervention used is very effective.Conclusions. Viewing the educational intervention was effective in informing the sophomore students and providing them with instructive basic information on person with SHCN. Dental colleges should increase students’ knowledge, training, and exposure to individuals with SHCN.

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Formal education is the main place for children to improve their knowledge. Teachers are the sources of information which is easily received by children, so the teacher’s role in children’s education is very important. Oral health training able to improve the skills and information resource in a community. Teachers, as the trainee, can play a role in improving the access to information regarding oral health. The objective of this research was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of the teachers before and after the performance of initial training on oral health care. Methods: Questionnaires, with the research variables were knowledge, attitude, and practice of oral health care. The study population was Arraffi Elementary School teachers. The sampling technique was total sampling. The data collecting was done by distributing questionnaires and self-report before and after training. Results: Wilcoxon test shown that P-value pretest and posttest of knowledge was 0.675, attitude was 0.354, and practice was 0.129. Knowledge regarding oral care showed an increasing in achievement percentage. Posttest results of attitude showed the increase in the percentage of positive and negative statements. Posttest results on practice showed some behavior having an increasing percentage, but one behavior remain unchanged. There was no significant difference of knowledge, attitude and practice before and after initial training. Conclusions: There was no impact of initial oral health training on teacher’s knowledge, attitudes, and actions change.Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, Teacher, Training

The limited access to oral health care in developing countries can be greatly improved by integrating oral health into the Primary Health Care (PHC) system. This study was designed to assess the views of PHC workers on integrating oral health care into the PHC system. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted in two selected local government areas of Lagos State. The instrument contained three sections assessing sociodemographic features, knowledge of common oral diseases and views on integration of oral health into PHC respectively. The mean knowledge score was 7.75 (SD=±1.81), while 60.4% of the respondents had average knowledge scores. Educational status (P=0.018) and designation (P=0.033) were significantly related to the mean knowledge scores. There was no significant difference in the oral health knowledge of the various cadres (P=0.393). Majority (85.4%) of the respondents were willing to include oral health education in their job schedule and 82% believed they needed more training on oral health. The knowledge of the respondents on the causes of the common oral diseases was deficient. Oral health education should be included in the future curriculum of these personnel.
