The current micro-teaching process is readily online, and it is functional anywhere and anytime ubiquitously. All or most teaching and learning activities are accessible in centralized storage. However, centralized storage has inherent problems, such as a single point of failure with many possible data breaches, much duplication of data stored repeatedly in one location, and the lack of trust in third parties for data stored in centralized storage. Further issues include the high cost and low performance of the online systems that hinder the quality of the education process. In this paper, we propose a new framework Education Exchange Storage Protocol (EESP). EESP aims to improve the efficiency of the decentralized storage ecosystem in micro-teaching, coupled with blockchain technology acting as a control layer. Blockchain empowers the decentralized system by bringing together the most incompatible unstructured entities and integrate them. The decentralized storage system is armed with a blockchain smart contract that acts as a control layer, featuring impregnable security, immutability, trace-ability, and transparency. The EESP framework aims to elevate teaching and learning through blockchain decentralized storage systems in a transformational way, including but not limited to things like micro-credential, massive open online courses, and gamification, all in a single immersive learning platform. Finally, we tested and evaluated this framework using the truffle simulator, and the results demonstrate that the EESP model significantly improves performance.

As an innovation in the world of computers, blockchain has many benefits and is also widely applied in the world of education. Blockchain itself has many advantages, especially in the world of education. Blockchain is a digital data storage system that consists of many servers (multiserver). In this Blockchain technology, data created by one server can be replicated and verified by another server. By using this technology with a decentralized system and strong cryptography and can help colleges or universities to build infrastructure in the archive storage of transcripts, diplomas, and diplomas. Usage One of the blockchain technology applications in education is iBC, namely the e-learning Blockchain Certificate, book copyright, and also e-Portfolios. iBC or e-learning Blockchain Certificate is a tool designed to create, verify and also issue blockchain certificates. As has been supported by the IBC to create certificates that are globally verified and stored in a decentralized manner. Here will be presented use cases that are relevant in the use of Blockchain technology in educational environments, especially data processing in universities and we also try to design an IBC based on blockchain technology that can be used to support transparency and accountability of colleges or universities in issuing diplomas and grades.

Current technological developments greatly impact the assessment verification system. To find out the student benchmarks in the results of teaching and learning activities during the learning system assessment process is very important in the scope of higher education. With the existence of blockchain technology widely applied in the world of Education, having the advantage of a decentralized system and strong cryptography can help universities in building infrastructure. Universitas Raharja is one of the educational institutions that has implemented an online assessment system (PEN +), which will use blockchain technology to verify the assessment of independent studies. which provides services to Raharja University lecturers in verifying student grades that can be accessed anywhere and at any time. However, currently the verification process for the independent study assessment that has been carried out is still done manually which results in verification not with very strong security. The existence of an independent study assessment verification uses blockchain technology to produce strong data security that did not occur before. In the PEN + lecturer assessment system for the independent study assessment verification process, it cannot yet enter the value of Independent study (IS) in real time. Therefore, there is a need for development in this blockchain technology for the verification process of independent study assessment. In this study there were 10 (ten) literary studies on verification of valuation. Thus there are several benefits that lecturers need not hesitate to verify the assessment, the process by using blockchain technology produces very strong security.

This paper is a continuation of the first paper whereby the history of distance learning, the positives and negatives of online learning, advantages and disadvantages of online learning, and the initial considerations for establishing online courses.

The third article in a three-part series discusses ways to enhance communication with students and promote connectedness when delivering a distance online course. Students in distance programs may have feelings of not being connected to the instructor and peers leading to dissatisfaction and isolation. Methods of how the instructor can promote an environment of connectedness through the use of announcements, video conferencing, video updates, scheduled phone calls, and office hours will be discussed. The first paper discussed the history of distance learning, the positives and negatives of online learning, advantages and disadvantages of online learning, and the initial considerations for establishing online courses. The second paper delved into understanding of the learning platform, developing a course model, creating individual assignment rubrics for courses, requiring active participation from both instructor and students, and setting-up quality communication.

O presente trabalho se propõe a descrever o processo de implementação de uma nova cultura de uso do ambiente virtual de aprendizagem, iniciado em 2012, junto aos cursos de graduação do Consórcio Cederj, ofertados no modelo semipresencial, e, posteriormente, sua difusão pelas diversas disciplinas. Com o objetivo principal de se aprimorar os processos de ensino-aprendizagem a distância, foram instituídas, além da implementação de uma nova plataforma, ações de capacitação destinadas aos diversos atores envolvidos no processo e iniciativas de apoio ao atendimento ao aluno e ao professor no que se refere à edição e ao uso de salas de aula virtuais. An interesting research problem in the supply chain industry is evaluating and determining the provenance of physical goods—demonstrating the authenticity of luxury goods such as bottled wine. However, many supply chain systems and networks have been built and implemented with centralized system architecture, relying on centralized authorities or any form of intermediary, and leading to issues such as single-point processing, storage and failure, which could be susceptible to malicious modifications to product records or various potential attacks to system components by dishonest participant nodes traversing along the supply chain. Blockchain technology has evolved from merely being a decentralized, distributed and immutable ledger of cryptocurrency transactions to a programmable interactive environment for building decentralized and reliable applications addressing different use-cases and existing problems in the world. In this research, with a chosen research method of proof-by-demonstration, the Decentralized NFC-Enabled Anti-Counterfeiting System (dNAS) is proposed and developed, decentralizing a legacy anti-counterfeiting system of the supply-chain industry using Blockchain technology to facilitate trustworthy data provenance retrieval, verification and management, as well as strengthening the capability of the product’s anti-counterfeiting and traceability qualities in the wine industry, with the capacity to further extend this to the supply chain industry as a whole. The proposed dNAS utilizes a decentralized blockchain network with a consensus protocol compatible with the concept of enterprise blockchain, programmable smart contracts and a distributed file storage system to develop a secure and immutable scientific-data provenance tracking and management platform on which provenance records, providing compelling properties of the data integrity of luxurious goods, are recorded, verified and validated automatically.

The number of students opting for online educational platforms has been on the rise in recent years. Despite the upsurge, student retention is still a challenging task, with some students recording low-performance margins on online courses. This paper aims to predict students’ performance and behaviour based on their online activities on an e-learning platform. The paper will focus on the data logging history and utilise the learning management system (LMS) data set that is available on the Sakai platform. The data obtained from the LMS will be classified based on students’ learning styles in the e-learning environment. This classification will help students, teachers, and other stakeholders to engage early with students who are more likely to excel in selected topics. Therefore, clustering students based on their cognitive styles and overall performance will enable better adaption of the learning materials to their learning styles. The model-building steps include data preprocessing, parameter optimisation, and attribute selection procedures.

The shared storage is essential in the decentralized system. A straightforward storage model with guaranteed privacy protection on the peer-to-peer network is a challenge in the blockchain technology. The decentralized storage system should provide the privacy for the parties since it contains numerous data that are sensitive and dangerous if misused by maliciously. In this paper, we present a model for shared storage on a blockchain network which allows the authorized parties to access the data on storage without having to reveal their identity. Ring signatures combined with several protocols are implemented to disguise the signer identity thereby the observer is unlikely to determine the identity of the parties. We apply our proposed scheme in the healthcare domain, namely, decentralized personal health information (PHI). In addition, we present a dilemma to improve performance in a decentralized system.

Current electronic voting protocol require a centralized system to control the whole procedure from ballot inputs to result outputs and election monitoring. Meanwhile, blockchain technology provide a decentralized system which open across the whole network of untrusted participants. Applying blockchain technology into electronic voting protocol through a proper architecture can instil characteristic such as data confidentiality, data integrity and data authenticity. In this paper, we going to discuss a proposed method on how to leverage the advantages from blockchain into electronic voting protocol. This blockchain-based electronic voting protocol promise to provide a secure electronic election process given the proposed system works. We implement a protocol using blockchain to turn election protocol into an automated control system without relying any single point of entity. Lastly, we discuss the characteristics of our proposed blockchain-based electronic voting protocol in this paper. However, there are also emerging challenges and limitations awaiting to overcome. This paper gives a comprehensive overview of our proposed protocol.

The vehicular Internet of Things (IoT) comprises enabling technologies for a large number of important applications including collaborative autonomous driving and advanced transportation systems. Due to the mobility of vehicles, strict application requirements, and limited communication resources, the conventional centralized control fails to provide sufficient quality of service for connected vehicles, so a decentralized approach is required in the vicinity to satisfy the requirements of delay-sensitive and mission-critical applications. A decentralized system is also more resistant to the single point of failure problem and malicious attacks. Blockchain technology has been attracting great interest due to its capability of achieving a decentralized, transparent, and tamper-resistant system. There are many studies focusing on the use of blockchain in managing data and transactions in vehicular environments. However, the application of blockchain in vehicular environments also faces some technical challenges. In this paper, we first explain the fundamentals of blockchain and vehicular IoT. Then, we conduct a literature review on the existing research efforts of the blockchain for vehicular IoT by discussing the research problems and technical issues. After that, we point out some future research issues considering the characteristics of both blockchain and vehicular IoT.
