Objective: To evaluate the effect of ketoprofenphonophoresis and femoral nerve block in knee osteoarthritis. Methods: One hundred and fourteen patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups. The control group consisted of 57 patients who were treated with only ketoprofenphonophoresis. The experimental group consisted of patients were treated with ketoprofenphonophoresis and femoral nerve block. The patients were followed for more than one month. The treatment effect assessed by observing their WOMAC index before and after therapy. Results: All the patients finished the follow-up. Their WOMAC indexes were reduced after therapy and one month after treatment, especially in the experimental group (P < 0.05). The effective efficiency of ketoprofenphonophoresis and femoral nerve block were higher than that in the control group after treatment and after one month of follow-up (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Compared with only ketoprofenphonophoresis, the combined treatment of ketoprofenphonophoresis and femoral nerve block was more appropriate in knee osteoarthritis.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to obtain the effect of goal setting training in improving students motivation to learn. The hypothesis of this study that there were a difference between the level of student learning motivation experiment group with control group were given before and after goal setting training. Students are given goal setting training (experiment group) will increase the learning motivation after treated by goal setting training than students who did not receive goal setting training (control group). Subjects in this study amounted to eighteen for the experimental group and also for the control group. Measuring instruments used to measure the level of learning motivation was learning motivation scale. Experimental design used in this study was Pre-Test Post-Test Control Group Design and the process of determining the subject done randomly. The analysis used was a parametric statistical test models of the Independent Sample T - Test to see differences in learning motivation scores between the experimental group with the control group. The results of the pretest data analysis using Independent Sample T-Test known sig = 0.798 ( p > 0.05), and posttest data analysis known sig = 0.000 ( p < 0.005 ). Meanwhile, to see the difference in pretest scores, posttest, and follow-up used paired sample T-test in the experimental group and the control group. The results of data analysis used Paired Sample T-Test on the pretest-posttest scores showed t = -23.884 with a significance level = 0.000 (p< 0.005), the results of the analysis on the posttest-follow-up scores showed t = 4,481 with a significance level = 0.000 (p< 0.005), and the results of the analysis on the pretest score-followup showed t = -20 821 with a significance level = 0.000 (p<0.005). The results of this analysis showed that the experimental group treated with increased motivation to learn after being given the training goal setting than before given the goal setting training. Keywords: goal setting training, learning motivation

We evaluated Simulations in Developmental Disabilities (SIDD), a multimedia software program that provides students with practice in behavioral assessment and treatment decisions for persons with developmental disabilities. Following a lecture on clinical strategies, students in an experimental group received instruction with SIDD whereas students in the control group did not. We collected assessments of students' clinical knowledge before and after the lecture, immediately after training, and several weeks later. The lecture had no immediate impact on clinical knowledge; however, there was a significant difference in test scores between the experimental group and the control group following exposure to SIDD training, which remained at follow-up.

The effects of a positive mindset trigger word intervention on the expressive performance of individual junior high singers were tested in this study. Participants ( N = 155) were assigned randomly to a control group or an experimental group. Members of the experimental group participated in a 40-min intervention while members of the control group participated in normal rehearsal. The intervention involved a pre-performance routine of breathing and silently repeating the words bold, confident, and free. It also involved practice activities for applying the technique to performance. Participants were tested individually directly before and after the intervention and 2 weeks later. Results indicated a significant positive effect on Overall Expressive Performance ( p < .001) and on the subcategories Dynamics ( p < .001), Performance Factors ( p < .001), and Timing ( p < .001). There was no significant effect on subcategories Articulation ( p = .195) and Tone ( p = .035). Implications were that (1) use of positive mindset trigger words in a pre-performance routine may bring immediate improvement in expressive performance for junior high age singers, (2) junior high age singers may possess higher levels of expressive performance skill than they or teachers recognize, and (3) review and repetition likely are needed for junior high age students to retain the intervention benefits.
