Since the reform and opening up of China, the economy has continued to grow, and diverse needs have generated different types and periods of economic activities. This has caused people to have an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, irregular work and rest, lack of sleep, mental stress, high psychological pressure, long-term bad moods, and other health problems. The proportion of the sub-healthy population continues to increase and health problems are becoming increasingly prominent. Based on this, we examine the internal mechanism of the economic cycle on national health since the reform and opening up of China. For a long time, China has actively responded to the UN's call for environmental protection and proposed that “clear waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets.” Therefore, this study combines air quality in the process of environmental governance in China to investigate national health. Data from 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, and four municipalities from 2004 to 2017 are selected as research samples to examine the relationship between economic cycles, air quality, and national health for empirical testing. Studies have shown that the economic cycle is significantly correlated with national health. The better the macroeconomy, the better the health of the human body; that is, the lower the unemployment rate, the lower the mortality rate. After introducing air quality, it was found to have a significant regulating effect on the relationship between the economic cycle and national health. Our conclusions reveal that economic development is closely related to national health. China should attach great significance to the environment and air quality in the process of economic development to achieve sustainable development and create a green economy.

The development of the green economy is universally recognized as a solution to natural resource shortages and environmental pollution. When exploring and developing a green economy, it is important to study the relationships between the environment and economic development. As opposed to descriptive and qualitative research without modeling or based on environmental Kuznets curves, quantitative relationships between environmental protection and economic development must be identified for exploration and practice. In this paper, we used the generalized additive model (GAM) regression method to identify relationships between atmospheric pollutants (e.g., NO2, SO2 and CO) from remote sensing and in situ measurements and their driving effectors, including meteorology and economic indicators. Three representative cities in the Anhui province, such as Hefei (technology-based industry), Tongling (resource-based industry) and Huangshan (tourism-based industry), were studied from 2016 to 2020. After eliminating the influence of meteorological factors, the relationship between air quality indexes and industrial production in the target cities was clearly observed. Taking Hefei, for example, when the normalized output of chemical products increases by one unit, the effect on atmospheric NO2 content increases by about 20%. When the normalized output of chemical product increases by one unit, the effect on atmospheric SO2 content increases by about 10%. When chemical and steel product outputs increase by one unit, the effect on atmospheric CO content increases by 25% and 20%, respectively. These results can help different cities predict local economic development trends varying by the changes in air quality and adjust local industrial structure.

On most occasions, economic development is embodied with periodic characteristics. Comprehensive understanding of the economic cycle is of great significance to guiding the formulation of macroeconomic policies and maintaining stable economic growth. Since the reform and opening up, Tengzhou's economy has maintained a momentum of rapid growth, which, however, is characterized by obvious periodic fluctuations. This paper makes an in-depth analysis of the characteristics and causes of economic periodic fluctuation in Tengzhou, in order to have a comprehensive understanding of the economic cycle, and the economic law is adopted to take corresponding economic growth measures in different periods of economic development, thus achieving high-quality economic development. In this paper, the study of county economic cycle is not subject to economic theory, rather the study is conducted with a large number of historical background and local economic development characteristics. The economy of Tengzhou City, since the reform and opening up, is divided into five cycles. The conclusion is drawn that the county economic cycle is affected by macroeconomic fluctuations, industrial structure adjustment, investment and consumption fluctuations and other factors. We put forward targeted suggestions on using the economic cycle to promote high-quality economic development.

With China’s reform and opening up, the relationship between foreign direct investment and economic development gradually attracts attention. Professor Dunning first developed this theory, which describes the division of net outward direct investment into four distinct stages of a country’s economic development, and later increased it to five. The theory has been developed for 40 years, and whether it can survive and still play a guiding role in national development is the focus of people’s concern. Based on the previous studies of scholars, this paper conducts an empirical study on “individual” countries. Thus it is concluded that the theory in its net foreign direct investment and economic development of the important relationship of the original is still valid, but from the cross section, the measures to be improved, and the theory of the fifth stage of the development of a new understanding

PurposeThe paper aims to explore the impact of marketization on forestry economic growth. Firstly, the development process of forestry marketization was summarized. Secondly, from the three dimensions of forestry production factor marketization, production marketization and product marketization, the framework of marketization is constructed by the authors.Design/methodology/approachBased on the yearbook data from 1978 to 2016, the relationship between forestry marketization and forestry growth was demonstrated through multiple regression and Granger test in this paper.FindingsThe results showed that forestry marketization was one of the important driving factors that impacted on China's forestry economic growth. Since the reform and opening up, China's forestry marketization degree has been constantly strengthened, but there is still room for improvement. China has provided an important model as forestry marketization reform and development sample for the world.Social implicationsMany useful references and inspirations have been provided from China such as gradually promoting market-oriented reforms; paying attention to the important role of reform and opening up in the construction of market mechanism; dynamic coordination of market and government relations; developing and connecting the relationship between domestic and international market; and coordinating the development of forestry state-owned economy, private economy and mixed ownership economy.Originality/valueThis paper creates a measure index of forestry marketization from three dimensions of forestry production factor marketization, production marketization and product marketization.

With China’s rapid economic development, people's demand is also further expand the logistics. The logistics from traditional logistics to the current development of modern logistics, is a manifestation of the further expansion of the logistics requirements, therefore, since the reform and opening up, some of China's coastal regions and cities have recognized the urgency of the Development of Modern logistics, Modern logistics, as have The Main Pillars of economic Development, Industry, and to a Strategic height. It is in this case, I made Ningbo Urban logistics System Planning Study.
