This research deals with the theoretical and practical issues of investment support activities for industrial waste management in developed countries, based on the example of South Korea. The main goal of this research is the evaluation of waste treatment investment projects and understanding their impact on the development of environmental policies. The problems of forming the sustainable systems for controlling the disposal of industrial wastes are being studied. The authors discuss the practical application of environmental policies and modern technologies of South Korean companies in the field of industrial waste processing. The approaches of waste investment project’s evaluation are applied and multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods were discussed for various cases and applications. Using MCDM methods, the authors study the effectiveness of investment projects in waste treatment activities in Korea. The analyses of MCDM methods are implemented in this research to provide some instructions on how to effectively apply these methods in waste treatment investment project analyses. Furthermore, the authors propose a combination of multi-criterial selection and interval preferences to evaluate waste treatment projects. The proposed approach improves the method of calculating economic efficiency based on a one-dimensional criterion and sensitivity analysis. The main results of this research perform the investment impact and risk-analysis on the environmental policies development.

Abstract Biodegradability of pollution contained in examined industrial wastewater was assessed according to methodology based on Zahn-Wellens (OECD 302B) test. The following kinds of wastewater were examined: - metal industry wastewater from aluminium pressure foundry; - wastewater from industrial waste treatment processes, such as: filtration waste, chemical reagents, coolants, water emulsions, oil wastes and other industrial wastes, galvanising waste treatment processes sludge. Samples COD value decrease in the subsequent days of the experiment proves that organic substances contained in the examined wastewater undergo gradual biodegradability in aerobic conditions. The highest biodegradability degree of aluminium pressure foundry wastewater equal 65.7% was noted during 28 day of the experiment. However, the minimum biodegradability degree equal 80% after 13 aeration days, which in Zahn-Wellens test allows to determine the examined substance to be biodegradable, has not been achieved. Meanwhile, Zahn-Wellens test conducted for wastewater from industrial waste treatment processes showed that in the day 14 of the process, high (87.1%) organic substance degradation degree, measured with COD value decrease, was achieved. Further aeration of the samples did not increase biodegradability, which equalled 87.9% after 28 days.

One of the objectives of industrial waste management is to reduce the amount of waste and to ensure its reuse in a way that allows notable improvement of resource efficiency. Location of a waste treatment plant is a strategic issue that require careful logistics system planning. The aim of this article is to create a model for solving the locationallocation problem of waste (i..e. secondary raw materials) treatment facilities, taking into account the territorial distribution, the type, and the quantity of secondary raw materials, the distance between waste-generating industries, as well as the CO 2 emissions from transport of secondary raw materials. The basic principle for defining a mathematical model is minimization of CO emissions from transport-related activities; 2 for this reason, modeling is based on the p median model that has been modified and put within the context of industrial waste management, including CO emissions from 2 transport. The location model is based on common industrial waste streams and CO 2 emissions from vehicles commonly used to transport secondary raw materials from generators to facilities. The verification of the model was performed through a case study that included the region of southeast Serbia. It confirmed usefullness of the proposed model for deciding on optimal locations for new industrial waste treatment plants.

Industrial Waste Management is one of the serious problems in the era of industrialization. Therefore waste management must be handled early during the production process. This means that the waste treatment process must be carried out from upstream to downstream. This study aims to build a waste management optimization model with quantitative analysis conducted through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews that combine the results of producer and consumer interviews. The results showed that there are many aspects related to waste from the tofu industry in the Abian Body Village, so it made waste optimization very important.

Waste management is a universal topic that applies to every living being on the planet. Decision makers create policies that affect everyday issues such as health, cleanliness, food and water, the environment in which we live. Poor waste management leads to the contamination of rivers, soil, air, and thus leads to infections, respiratory infections, cancer, heart and blood vessel diseases, and causes harm to animals that consume waste substances. Poor waste management also affects the economy, the exploitation of natural raw materials, tourism. For these reasons, it is necessary to initiate urgent actions and increase the awareness of individuals and society as a whole through education and understanding. Inadequately disposed of waste creates emissions of greenhouse gases. Also emitted into the atmosphere are hexavalent chlorine, polychlorinated biphenyls, dioxins, furans, powdered substances and thousands of other chemicals that are carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic. Industrial waste management requires much more engagement because such waste also contains more substances that negatively affect the environment. Therefore, a thorough analysis of the amount of waste generated in Serbia and the capacities of the country to treat this waste is necessary. Also needed are changes in legislation which would benefit both citizens and industry, the strengthening of administrative capacities within the waste management system and information sharing.

Subject. This article explores the economic relations of economic entities concerning effective investment activities, combining elements of investment control and assessment of related risk. Objectives. The article aims to analyze and logically substantiate the stages and types of investment activities of enterprises and investment projects in-progress, as well as define a methodological approach to assessing project risks. Methods. For the study, we used a structural and logical analysis, and deductive reasoning. The methodological base of the study is based on the principles of the theory of finance, investment and risk management. Results. The article defines stages of assessing the financial condition of enterprises and proposes a methodological approach to assessing certain risks of an investment project based on the risk ranking by degree of probability and significance of an event through applying the expert assessment method. The article also presents a practice-oriented risk map for investment projects and clarifies the concept of Investment Control. Conclusions. The results of the study can help address the significant for the Russian economy issue of stimulating and developing investment activities at enterprises, as well as implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of investment projects at the micro-and macro-levels of the country's economy.
