Planning the operation scheduling with optimization heuristic algorithms allows microgrids to have a convenient tool. The developments done in this study attain this scheduling taking into account the impact of energy storage useful life in the microgrid operation. The scheduling solutions, proposed for the answer of an optimization problem, are obtained by using a metaheuristic algorithm called Differential Evolutionary Particle Swarm Optimization (DEEPSO). Thanks to the optimization that is conducted in this study, it is possible to formulate dispatches of the existent microgrid (MG) by always looking for the ideal dispatch that implies a lower cost and provides a greater viability to any project related to renewable energy, electric vehicles and energy storage. These advances oblige the battery manufacturers to start looking for more powerful batteries, with lower costs and longer useful life. In this way, this paper proposes a scheduling tool considering the energy storage useful life.

In this research, the joint virtual energy storage modeling with electric vehicle participation in energy local area Smart Grid is considered. This article first constructs a virtual energy storage model and a joint virtual energy storage model for air conditioning and electric vehicles. Therefore, for the optimization problem of virtual energy storage power, a continuous rolling optimization algorithm to determine the feasible solution of the high-dimensional complex constraint optimization problem is proposed to solve the optimization problem. Finally, the analysis, for example, illustrates the economics of joint virtual energy storage in the Smart Grid. The results prove that air conditioning and electric vehicles have the ability to jointly participate in virtual energy storage, and the comparison proves that joint virtual energy storage can effectively improve the economics of electricity consumption.

The intermittency of wind and solar power generation brings risks to the safety and stability of the power system. In order to maximize the utilization of renewables, optimal control and dispatch methods of the Distributed Energy Resources including the generators, energy storage and flexible demand are necessary to be researched. This paper proposes an optimization and dispatch model of an aggregation of Distributed Energy Resources in order to facilitate the integration of renewables while considering the benefits for dispatchable resources under time-of-use tariff. The model achieves multi-objective optimization based on the constraints of day-ahead demand forecast, wind and solar generation forecast, electric vehicles charging routines, energy storage and DC power flow. The operating cost, the renewable energy utilization and the revenues of storages and electric vehicles are considered and optimized simultaneously through the min–max unification method to achieve the multi-objective optimization. The proposed model was then applied to a modified IEEE-30 bus case, demonstrating that the model is able to reconcile all participants in the system. Sensitivity analysis was undertaken to study the impact of initial states of the storages on the revenues to the resource owners.

Battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs) have a limited on-board energy storage and present the problem of driving mileage anxiety. Moreover, battery energy storage density cannot be effectively improved in a short time, which is a technical bottleneck of EVs. By considering the impact of traffic information on energy consumption forecasting, an energy-saving path planning method for EVs that takes traffic information into account is proposed. The modeling process of the EV model and the construction process of the traffic simulation model are expounded. In addition, the long-term, short-term memory neural network (LSTM) model is selected to predict the energy consumption of EVs, and the sequence to sequence technology is used in the model to integrate the driving condition data of EVs with traffic information. In order to apply the predicted energy consumption to travel guidance, a road planning method with the optimal coupling of energy consumption and distance is proposed. The experimental results show that the energy-based economic path uses 9.9% lower energy consumption and 40.2% shorter travel time than the distance-based path, and a 1.5% lower energy consumption and 18.6% longer travel time than the time-based path.

This paper reviews the impact that can be presented by the immersion of generation sources and electric vehicles into the distribution network, with a technical, operational and commercial approach, given by the energy transactions between customer and operator. This requires a mathematical arrangement to identify the balance between congestion and the operating cost of a microgrid when the operation scheduling of the system a day ahead of horizon time it is required. Thus, this research is directed to the solution, using heuristic algorithms, since they allow the non-convex constraints of the proposed mathematical problem. The optimization algorithm proposed for the analysis is given by the Multi-Object Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) method, which provides a set of solutions that are known as Optimal Pareto. This algorithm is presented in an IEEE 141-bus system, which consists of a radial distribution network that considers 141 buses used by Matpower; this system was modified and included a series of renewable generation injections, systems that coordinate electric vehicles and battery storage, and the slack node was maintained and assumed to have (traditional generation). In the end it can be shown that the algorithm can provide solutions for network operation planning, test system robustness and verify some contingencies comparatively, always optimizing the balance between congestion and cost.

Facilitating high-RES (Renewable Energy Resources) penetration via integrated resource management is considered a promising strategy on different islands worldwide. For this work, the Portuguese island of Porto Santo is established as a test bench using actual data from the island. Given its geographical condition and energy needs, integrating the management of different resources (namely, the electric power grid with the water supply system, intensive in-land transportation electrification, and the energy storage applications) is analyzed by this work to achieve a power grid relying entirely on RES. The energy storage utilization and the purposeful manipulations in demand patterns have been perceived as instruments to reduce RES availability and consumption mismatch. Electric Vehicles (EV) could be perceived as a reliable alternative to centralized storage systems, acting either as a load or power resource (generator), providing the required flexibility for power systems to uptake the increased RES and maintaining the balance of supply and demand. This means that EVs could contribute to greening both the power system and the transport sectors. Hence, the impact of the EVs’ penetration level on the island was assessed through a gradual increase in the EVs’ total number (from 0 to a fleet containing 2500 vehicles). Furthermore, a collaboration between the water supply (seawater desalination) and the energy sector is proposed. The obtained results revealed that the optimized management of resources could significantly help the overall energy system (power grid) to rely only on RES (solar and wind energies). The curtailments decreased relatively (maximizing the RES share), while the polluter conventional power plant remained off over the simulation periods.

Rainfall is a major component of the environment and the main source of the air purification becouse of many pollutants increases who have the most varied sources: various human activities including industry and agriculture, and some household duties. Air purification by means of precipitation is achieved by numerous highly complex mechanisms. The final products of degradation of the pollutant in the air, which are generally harmless, can be reacted with each other in the presence of water, giving rise to the final compounds with a high toxicity. Thus, exhaust, mobile sources of noxious almost identical to those specific activities in the industrial processing of oil, contain lead which is the ideal catalyst for converting SO2 to sulfuric acid in the presence of rainwater, with all the disadvantages that they create. This paper will present an experimental research oabout how rainfall water quality is influenced by the activity of the industrial processing of oil, in a chemical plant in Constanta County.
